you've designated a spot out towards the center of camp to serve as a sort of meet and greet area sh—t. a cigarette that an npc was so generous to give to you dangles loosely from your mouth, between your lips as you grin. so far, these people mostly seem like hard asses, or bad asses, sometimes both. fine by your book.
" yo, everybody, my name's darby! if you're all not too busy doing whatever the hell you guys do, some names would be nice, to get to know you, or whatever. " your accent is thick as ever, even when your voice trails off at the end. you're actually not much of a people-person, so you're not quite sure what to say here at first. oops.
you decide to just make up for lost words with a long drag of your cig, turning your head over your shoulder to exhale the smoke. your eyes, gold as gold itself and round as dinner plates, flick left and right, waiting for someone to draw over and actually look genuinely interested to get to know you.

"Kathryn," the sheepdog introduced herself as she padded over with a neutral expression. She wasn't one for long introduction. "Nice to meet you, Darby," she added after a moment, having momentarily forgotten the formality. She offered a brief nod of acknowledgement, not sure what else to do.

"Hi! I'm Ro-ma-no-va." The red tabby kitten introduced herself excitedly, her little tail quivering, and her legs collapsing under her, so that she flopped awkwardly onto her side. "My daddy is Eric!" She added.

Eric didn't exactly like that his kittens were hearing such words, but it wasn't like he could silence everyone who said them, hearing his name he trotted over with a friendly smile, he may seem friendly at this time, but he was far from it to anyone he didn't know. "And I am Eric." he mewed as he came to sit next to his daughter.

oh, looks like you've got a few takers!
first, a cinnamon coloured canine, whose name, apparently, is kathryn. you nod her way and flash a grin. you really, really envy that fur. yours is just drab in your opinion. " good to meet you. "
aww, and then the cutest kitten ever bounds right up to you next. when she flops over, you struggle not to seem like one of those grandmothers who just pinch the sh—t out of their granchildren's cheks. " hey, kiddo! it's nice to meet you. "
it would seem like her father comes along next, to whom you say, " she looks just like you. " it's true; as they're sitting side by side, you can really see the resemblance.
