    [font=andale mono][color=black]Mina wouldn't even try to deny it, she'd be the worst nurse. Sure she had the worrisome trait to her, where she'd do everything she could to make others feel better. Yet, the people she cared for were limited, sick people whom she had no connection to didn't pique her interest, ontop of that, she was too argumentative. But most of all, she wasn't able to stay awake. All the plans of watching Joshua throughout the night disappeared as soon as she let her eyes shut for just a 'quick' snooze.

    The thing that first lightly prodded at her consciousness was the feeling of suddenly another form against hers, though instead of alarm, only comfort was formed. Pressing back, she managed to snuggle in as close as she could, this was all working it's way into her slowly fading dream. The form became a soft dog that she was holding tightly onto.

    But the next thing that encouraged her to rouse, this time, taking it to a point where her eyes began to flutter, was the call of a bird, from somewhere near at that, and it continued another time, and another. When she finally opened her eyes and let the light sink in, she was surprised enough to find Joshua. What...

    It took her a minute or two to get into the moment, remembering everything. She wondered if he felt better, but more so wondered if he'd wake up and kick her out of the bed.

  • the form he had latched himself onto began to move, shifting positions that soon alarmed him. slightly irritated, he rolled over, yawning and feeling the slight strain in his throat. the world seemed fuzzy, like the static channel on all televisions for several moments. he couldn't process where he was or see properly from the heavenly light that pierced directly into his room.

    the first initial reaction of his was to turn and eye the clock on his nightstand, reading 8:54 am. the earliest lesson that day ran from 7:30 to 8:45, and he had missed it entirely without giving any type of warning of his absence.

    he stuffed his face back into the pillow, wanting to block out the entire world and just fall back asleep, but he knew that he would have to face the consequences sooner or later. lethargically, he tilted his head to take a peak at the other person lying closely next to him, closing his eyes immediately after and letting out soft growl.

    his thoughts drifted towards the previous night, but most of it was fuzzy and rather unclear. nothing had happened...right?

    suddenly, he sat up, still dazed from the heavy hours of rest and shuffled his way out of bed.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]Blinking in and out of consciousness, Mina managed to catch sight of Joshua dazily making his way out of bed; what time was it even, it somehow felt later than she usually woke, yet surely that couldn't be the case.

    "Hey..." She muttered, voice carrying that distant and vulnerable tone most had when first waking up, lightly the girl pushed herself to a sitting position, contentiously rubbing her eyes. "Are you feeling any better?" The question she'd been trying to say through stifled yawns finally emerged.

    At this point, her thoughts were turning more clear and she seemed to be gaining back mobility for she was inching her way off the mattress, staggering slightly as she stood but straitening up soon after. If anything, she was a bit disoriented with her mixed up sleep pattern.

  • 'y-yeah, just need to...' looking around the room, he tried to spot his phone amongst the pieces of clothing and heaps of other items around. he tried to back track to the night before, trying to see all the possibilities of where he could have misplaced it.

    the living room.

    as the insight suddenly hit him, he managed to walk out of his room unsteadily, brushing past the walls of the hallways before bursting out into the open space of his living room. everything had been in place since the night before from the messy blankets on the couch to the used cups sloppily thrown into the sink.

    heading straight towards the couch, he pulled his phone out and quickly dialed in the number to the university, as they hadn't answered, he left a message stating his leave for the day before hanging up.

    sighing, he tossed his cell back on the couch before a few messages lit up on the screen, from who, he was sure. but in the state he was in, he hadn't felt like replying.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]After Joshua had left the room, Mina flopped down on the mattress once more, too tired to bother getting up. Though she remembered everything, it didn't matter. She could push away reality for awhile longer. Struggling to find a warm spot, she gathered the blankets into a ball and curled into them.

    She finally forced herself up a good fifteen minutes later, this time, the girl was somewhat more awake. Perhaps she had just not wanted to get up because of all the problems that rose with her. Joshua's past, yesterday, what she was going to do now, they were all swarming around in her mind.

    Pulling her hair up into a ponytail with a spare elastic she'd had around her wrist, she made her way into the living room, flinching slightly upon seeing the messied blankets and resisting the urge to straighten them out.

    Not exactly sure what to say or do, as this scenario had never happened to her, Mina just folded her arms behind her back and rocked on her heels, glancing to Joshua mildly. "Did you, um, call the University?"

  • feeling unnerved by his late awakening, joshua turned around at the source of the voice, startled slightly. once he had seen that it was only mina, he smiled slightly before nodding. there wasn't much more he could think of at the moment that could explain what exactly had been going on. after the sleepiness was completely worn off, he began to think of the day's agenda but stopped once he spotted the kitchen.

    'i think i should head out after breakfast, i've got to run a few errands in place of not working.' he stuffed his hands absentmindedly into the pockets of his sweats.

    'would you like to stay? i can give you a lift back afterwards, unless you've got something going on right now. then, i mean, you're free to leave whenever i-i guess.' stuttering, he placed his hands on the blankets to fold them into tinier piles, straightening out some of the cushions.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]Did she have something going on right now? Her schedule was at home, sitting in it's habitual spot on her desk. She was useless without an agenda. Yet, she usually had something going on, it was a very rare day when Mina was completely free.

    She shrugged the thought off, if she happened to miss something, she'd come up with a well created excuse.

    "Whatever's easier on you; if you need any help, just ask. But I wouldn't want to overstay my welcome." Odd words coming from the girl who, just yesterday had been forcing herself on him.

  • the irritating thought of the collective pile of messages sitting in his phone continued to irk and rather, interrupt any thoughts he had been having. with a final sigh he realized that as much as he had enjoyed having her around in dire times, he probably should attend to jasmin's worries as well. he couldn't intentionally leave her in the dark without a proper explanation.

    'actually, i have to take care of a few excessive things before noon, and i've got papers to grade for my lower end students. i'll be leaving after some coffee, would you like some for the road?'

  • [font=andale mono][color=black][fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]Mina gave a small smile, but waved her hand nonetheless, "No, no. Don't worry about it." That smile soon faltered though when she turned away though, masking it by pretending to look at some picture frames. However, her eyes were glazed over as her thoughts drifted back. Back to last night when he told her about his past; his girlfriend and what happened to her. Yesterday she had dismissed it in favour of more important things, but now, she could actually take time to think about it.

    Though, Mina hide her worry well. Her clutched arms simply looked as if she were hugging herself for warmth, not digging her nails through the sweater. She was never good with sharing her concerns, so she'd just push it all to the side.

    "You don't have to worry, by the way, I won't tell anyone that I was here."

  • 'oh- thank you. i actually realized last night that i wasn't worried if news got out that a student spent one night in her teacher's flat. you're all university students, and i can trust that you'll make the right decisions for yourself. i don't mind if you tell anyone, i'm pretty sure i'm on the brink of being fired anyways.'

    giving a light-hearted laugh, he turned away form her and continued to place things in their proper places. soon the entire room was well organized and it had hardly seemed as if anything had happened the previous night. he held no bitterness in his words or facial expressions, only blatant honesty that he could afford to show through the hardship.

    'but, i'd like to keep my past out of your gossip if possible.'

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]At first Mina blushed in embarrassment, and then that blush just turned to a awkward sideglance downwards. "I'm not one for gossip, even if I was, I wouldn't think about telling anyone." But why was that, for his purpose, or her own? It was selfish, but it was almost as if she were trying to make it seem as if what he'd told her last night wasn't more than a simple dream.

    "Well, ah, shall we go?" There it was, he'd thrown her off balance and now she was just saying things as fast as she thought them in order to make up for some of her awkward air, shuffling towards the door slightly, she cast him a quick glance before looking away.

  • caught off guard by the sudden change in the atmosphere, he could merely nod and snap out of his previous thoughts that seemed to be haunting him. he couldn't get the irritating buzz out of his ear; that this was all wrong, him being a near adult teaching students and allowed in that type of environment.

    'y-yeah, well i should probably change first, you can go on ahead and leave if you'd like. you're more than welcome to do what you want.' with that, he turned and made a beeline for his bedroom shaken at the sudden rudeness emitting from him.

    the strange feeling manifested from within him, not hatred or irritation. more like interest. was he perhaps interested in her staying after all? conflicted, he shook the thoughts from his head and continued on.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]Leave? Yes, that's what she needed to do; Leave, go home, and actually think about all that was happening. But it felt wrong without leaving some sort of good bye.

    So, hurriedly, Mina found a pad of paper and pen, leaning over the counter she wrote in hastily drawn words.

    Joshua,
    I hope you feel better
    If you need anything, feel free to ask
    If not, I look forward to our next lesson

  • ooc: completely off topic-sorry!
    but like after watching the 'run' mv, i couldn't stop crying :'( BTS's newest album is reaallllllyyyy good-

    ic: he hurriedly threw the door to his bathroom open and reached for the knob, pulling it down with force. for a few seconds, the water slowly dripped out before turning into a steady stream of water down the walls and onto the marble white floor. hot steam began to rise from the hot water, fogging up the mirrors and the slightly opened window into the morning air.

    he took the chance to make it seem as if he had been showering, hopeful that he could carry out the rest of his plans for the day. being sure that she would have been unpleased by all of his unread texts and unanswered calls, joshua had happened to grab his phone when he was cleaning the couch earlier on.

    dialing in jasmin's phone number, he leaned back against the cool tile wall, the sound of running water in front of him.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]OOC - I know! They hit me so hard with that album! The songs are so good, and I've watched the MV so many times! It's amazing.

    Unanswered calls and texts made Jasmin moreso worried than angered, though she'd felt a bit of irritation rising in her stomach, it was quickly suppressed. For the night she'd laid in bed, staring at the phone, before falling asleep, the next day, she'd decided to just busy herself without waiting.

    It didn't turn out well, she busied herself with reading a long novel, yet, her phone was there beside her, hidden under a blanket, yes, but waiting. Was he annoyed with her? Most likely yes.

    Then her phone rang, and she made a lunge for it, fumbling with the button for a second before answering it and bringing it to her ear so fast it hit her head. "H-Hey, Joshua? Are you alright?"

  • he was silent for a few moments, just taking in the sound of her voice through the phone and drowning in the smoggy atmosphere. there were so many words he had wanted to say, trying to formulate them in his mind and speaking them out loud.

    parting his dry lips, he released a sigh, sliding down further against the wall with heavily lidded eyes. he needed to apologize. that was the only way anyone would be hopefully satisfied.

    'i-' a cough cut him mid-sentence before he continued on.

    'i'm sorry i missed your calls last night. i was going to call you back, but i fell asleep almost immediately...' well, it wasn't a complete lie, but his strained voice led off to several other possibilities.

    'i'm just-i'm really really sorry, jasmin.'

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]She was a little taken by surprise with the sudden apology, though it was a nice surprise. She couldn't resist having her lips pull upwards into a small smile. "Hey now, don't apologize! I'm sure you had a rough night, I just wish I could've helped in someway..."

    She trailed off for a moment, before realizing her words and giving a hurried laugh following them. "Haha! I don't know how well that would've worked though, I'm not very good at looking after others." This conversation was going nowhere, she seemed almost nervous. "I should be the one apologizing, actually. For texting and calling so many times."

  • thinking for several moments, he treaded over her words before walking over to the tub and switching the flow of the water from the head to the lower bath faucet, water pouring out at a faster rate to fill the large tub.

    'no, no. i appreciated your calls and stuff.' switching onto a different subject, he quickly added, 'are you busy later today? we could meet up at a coffeehouse or library. i took a day off today, so perhaps...?' hr left off for her to fill in the possibility of any words she wanted.

    'or maybe some other time if you have plans already...'

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; line-height: 95%; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;
    [font=andale mono][color=black]Plans? If you called watching TV and going through random blogs plans, she had loads.

    "My schedules clear. I'd love to meet up!" Jasmin replied, somewhat glad he couldn't see the face she was making along with her giddy words.

    Playing with the end of a book page, she paused for a moment. "You know that cafe by the campus? We could meet there in a hour or so... If that's okay with you." An hour to get ready? She was stretching it, but Jasmin was pretty sure she could rush through it without looking worse than before.

  • 'sounds great, i'll see you in an hour then.' not wanting to end on an awkward note, he immediately hung up and placed his phone on a nearby stool before staring off into the foamy water now reaching the midway point of the bathtub.

    leaning over, he turned the faucet off and took in the sound of the dripping water. steam began to clear out of the room from the opened window, leaving him in a peaceful state of mind.

    he had one hour. one hour to prepare and one hour to clear away everything that had happened of the night before. erase all the horrible things he had said and done, suppress the horrible memories of his past.

    all in one hour.

    sighing, he slipped into the tub without removing his clothing and sunk low, closing his eyes in the warm liquid.
