[fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:150px;color:black;text-align:justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:18pt;] Clara Brinkwood The work day starts early for us Reds. While the Silvers still resting comfortably in their silk bedsheets we get up at the crack of dawn to go work. The guards around the village don't care about us all they care about is that their precious little Silver Kingdom doesn't get destroyed. I work at the palace as maid where I scrub dishes and bow down to Silvers as if my life depends on it. Trust me, if they were powerless I would have my hands at their throats in an instant. But they do have powers and strong ones at that. I slip out from under my threadbare blanket in attic and hear the soft snores of my parents below. Times like these have not been good on us that is why everyone must work even my little sister Ember does her part to scrape by. Yet those Silvers don't have to worry about that and for that I am jealous not that I would be a cold heartless being like them either. I dress quickly in the ugly servant's guard that they use to distinguish by at the castle not that they can't tell us aprt. To us we are just the rats scurrying beneath their polished boots and heels. Today was different though, the whole castle would be abuzz and my workload would be tripled. This was because today was the Queenstrial probably the largest event of the whole Silver society. This would be the day that the prince or heir to the throne would find his bride. I could care less yet the event was exciting to see the Silvers wield their deadly power and to think just to impress a man. I had already placed my bets with the other maids as who I thought would win. I grabbed a piece of stale bread from last night's dinner as I slipped out the door and into the rosy dawn. The village itself was still waking and everyone was beginning to come out to start the day's work. Walking quickly, I went down the winding dirt roads until I reached the gleaming gates of the Silver City. I passed my identification papers to the guard as he opened the gate without a word. I hurried inside the city already buzzing to prepare for the Queenstrial. I glanced up at the carved silver clock hoping Tess would get here soon we almost always met in the square at this hour. [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;overflow:auto;height:200px;width:250px;text-align:justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:8pt;]I heard a voice calling my name in the distance as my best friend ran up to me. "Someone slept in this morning," I said with a grin giving her a quick hug, we had to make sure we weren't late, the head of staff wouldn't be forgiving especially not on the day of the Queenstrial. I started walking as the clock let out a loud chime, we would probably be late in a few minutes. Pushing ahead faster I hurried towards the great palace Tess on my heels. I felt the excitement buzzing through the air, the names of the great families arriving being tossed into the hushed conversations about who the Prince would choose to be his bride. Usually I didn't pity the Prince but today I did, choosing a bride in one based all upon her powers instead of her character was certainly not the easiest thing in the world. I pushed hard on the great wooden door leading to the servant's quarters where the downstairs was a mess of people scurrying this way and that way.
Above it all I could hear the shrill voice of the head of staff yelling frantic orders as the servants rushed to get their daily tasks done. "Tess, go out to the garden and cut some fresh roses!" yelled the head of staff to my friend. I snuck into the kitchens the platters upon platters of food laid out on the worn wood counter for today's festivities. Tess and I would be serving in the arena today while the Queentrial was going on, carefully surveying all the competitors to see if we could win a penny or two on the bets all the serving girls made. From down here I could hear the rumble of carriage wheels signaling the arrival of all the important houses, soon the Queenstrial would be under way and by the end of the day we would have a new Queen.

Teagan:
Teagan carefully looked at the Cal's facial expression and had to withhold a laugh at the utter desperation that he saw there. "Your Majesty, I was simply coming to wish Cal good luck in the ceremony today and that I hoped to see him sometime before the choosing to discuss some placements of some border guards," Teagan lied smoothly. He had come to talk to Cal about who he was going to choose. He knew that his friend was in distress, but he also knew when he was not wanted, and now was one of those times. Although he loved Cal like a brother, he would never disgrace his family by making the King or Queen upset. Teagan quietly exited the throne room and headed towards the kitchens. Whenever he walked into the kitchens the Reds always stopped what they were doing and practically kissed the ground he walked on. He pretended to enjoy the attention but it secretly bothered him. He didn't like the feeling of having people underneath him and bow down to his every whim. Today he traveled to the kitchen for one simple reason, to have a snack. He pushed open the wooden double doors and watched as every Red turned to look at him. He smiled and waved his hand in a motion that said "Please. Carry on." He went to the first Red to his right, a girl about his age, with short dark brown hair and high cheekbones. Her face and lips were slim and it seemed that she had taken a careful amount of time making sure that she looked pretty. He looked into her piercing (brown?) eyes and asked, "Where can I find myself an apple? Please don't stop what you're doing just for me. Simple directions will suffice."
Tess:
Tess hurried after Clara, trying to not lose her in the crowd. She was excited to be able to see the ceremonies up close due to the fact that she was forced to serve in the great room when it happened. When she heard that she was told to go and cut fresh roses, she immediately headed into the gardens. Stopping only in a small shed with a few gardening tools, she began to work on cutting the biggest and prettiest looking roses in all of the city. Tess had always marveled at the flowers that were able to grow around the palace and she gently stroked the petals of one of the red roses that she had cut. The flowers reminded her of her mother and her love for gardening. She sighed, and continued her work. Suddenly, she tripped over a vine that stretched across the path through the gardens and fell onto the rocks. She knew she had scraped her knee but her real concern was on the roses that were now spilled across the path. She hurriedly began to pick them up as she heard someone coming. If she didn't hurry, they would see her. Whoever 'they' was. -

[fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;overflow:auto;height:200px;width:250px;text-align:justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:8pt;]I watched in dismay as Tess was called off to another task while I was left by myself amidst the wild buzz of the kitchen staff running this way and that way with a light dusting of flour and other spices permeating the air. Never had a known such a buzz, even on special occasions like the King or Queen's birthday had their ever been such a fuss before. I heard the door slam shut and the heavy sighs of all the Red maids who worked in the kitchen. There was only one person who it might be, a member of the King's guard. I continued kneading the piece of dough ignoring the hushed whispers of the girls as the knight entered the kitchen. I paused to wipe the sweat beading my brow as the someone approached my table, I was about snap thinking it was one of the younger girls then quickly realized it was not. It was the guard who I had heard enter the kitchen and one of the head guards at that. I glanced up at him as he asked me where he might find an apple. "I might as well show you, I can't have a guard bumbling around the kitchen when there is delicate work going on," I said more sharply than I would have liked.
My parents had always told me to treat others with respect but on a day like this I had little time to be patient. My nerves appeared to already frayed from the constant yelling of the head of staff. Ducking between all the servants and ruddy-faced cooks, I beckoned the guard to follow. The cook would soon have my head if she knew I had neglected the pastries but I didn't want this knight's bumbling around in the pantry just to find and apple, be on my hands. I nimbly picked one of the fresh apples from the burlap sack and tossed it to the man hoping that my flour-covered fingers hadn't covered the apple in dust. "Good day sir," I said quickly with a polite smile as I hurried off to finish work figuring the dough I had been kneading had already been ruined by now, at least the cook hadn't seen me duck off. I concentrated on the filling the pastries with tart cherry jam hoping that I could finish up soon that I might have a little bit of a break before my time serving at the Queenstrial.

Teagan:
Teagan was momentarily shocked by the kitchen maid's lack of manners in front of a high ranked knight. He regained composure as he hurriedly followed her through the bustling crowd of Reds preparing for the Queenstrial. He ducked under a server carrying a tray and nimbly dodged two other maids who carelessly crossed in front of him. When the maid tossed an apple towards him, he reached out and caught it with one hand. Tossing it up in the air and catching it again, he watched as she returned to her table.
Now, Teagan normally liked it when people did as they should. Reds, Silvers, whoever. If you were told to do something, he liked when you followed orders. He admired the maid in the respect that she dutifully continued on with her task despite his interruption, but he also saw her attitude as a challenge. Teagan never backed down. Swiftly moving across the room, he leaned up against the work table that she occupied, "Why the attitude, Red?" he asked her casually, as he bit into his apple. "Stressed?" he added carefully chewing his apple.Tess:
Tess muttered a brisk "Thank you" before taking the rose from the stranger's hand. At the sound of his voice she looked up. Her eyes widened and she immediately wrenched to her feet. "Prince Cal." She exclaimed in a half-shocked half-awed manner. "Your majesty, I'm sorry about the mess I've made and my less than friendly attitude. I had no idea." She bowed her head, "Please accept my apologies." She looked up at him again, studying his features. It wasn't the first time she had seen Prince Cal. Tess had caught glimpses of him here and there among the palace, but she had never seen him this close. She carefully memorized his facial features to describe them to Clara later. She knew her friend had never seen him this close also. As she watched Prince Cal, Tess noticed that he didn't seem relaxed. His dark eyes seemed to be worried and distressed, probably from the stress of making such a big decision in only a few hours. Before she could think twice, she blurted out her only thought, "Prince Cal, what's bothering you?" Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink as she realized the blatant question that she had just asked a Royal family member. Reds and Silvers didn't get along as friends, and she had just spoken to him as if they had known each other for a while. "Excuse my questioning, Your Majesty," she whispered and looked away.

[fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;overflow:auto;height:200px;width:250px;text-align:justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:8pt;]I continued my work when a shadow was cast over my work table and I looked up only to find the guard I had just talked to noisily munching the apple I had just given to him. I put a hand on my hip when he mentioned my attitude, who did he think he was the King? I stared up at him defiantly wanting very much to give him a piece of my mind but I held my tongue at least for now. "Well for starters, my name is not Red, it's Clara and excuse me if I have an attitude. This just happens to be the busiest day of the year for everyone down here and I don't very much appreciate guards waltzing in thinking they own the place when others have work to do. I apologize sir I am being rude but frankly there is work to be done," I said saucily holding my gaze with his.
On an ordinary day I probably wouldn't challenge my superiors but unless guard suddenly had a crown on his head I would pay no heed to his questions. I hoped he would get his shiny uniform and noisy crunching out of this kitchen so the cook wouldn't get any ideas in her head. God, knows the girls would start a brawl fighting over that guard. I sighed softly as I finished filling the pastries with the tart jam then shoving them in the oven nearly burning myself in the process. Today would be a very hectic day. I couldn't wait until the pace slowed at least a little bit. A few more hours in this suffocating kitchen and I would probably perish from heat stroke.

Teagan:
Teagan chuckled again at the girl's attitude. Clara. "So, Clara," he said emphasizing her name, weighing it on his tongue, "I've realized that I've been extremely rude just....what was the term? Oh, 'waltzing' that's right. I've realized that I've been extremely rude just 'waltzing' in here and interrupting all of the work that you have to do but I've also been rude in the sense that I haven't quite introduced myself. I'm Teagan Barbour, second best to Prince Cal." With that, he took her hand and kissed the back of it. He ignored the stares that he got from the other maids. It was the whole, Silver-Red thing again and he hated it. He would literally do anything to get past that single-minded way of thinking. He flashed Clara a dazzling smile before turning to the cook and making his prescence known. "I'd like for Clara to be a server tonight, attending to me. Thank you in advance for your cooperation." With that he took a bite of his apple and exited the kitchen. Clara was puzzling to him. He had never had a Red come to him with such stubbornness and character. Usually they mindlessly boggled over him as if he were an exhibit in a museum. He would look forward to seeing Clara during the Queenstrial. His personal server.
Tess:
Tess listened intently as he seemed to spill all of his worries to her. Her. A random Red from the kitchens who was sent to cut fresh roses and was totally out of her element. Tess was touched that Prince Cal was so intent on choosing a bride that he actually loved, not one that his parents wanted. When he was finished she spoke, "I don't think you're dull at all, Your Majesty, quite the opposite. It's intriguing that you want to be in love, not have power. You could care less about the power which is slightly confusing to me. Excuse my generalization but, Prince Cal, you must know that to us Reds, Silvers seem to be power hungry most of the time and it's a nice change to see that you are worried about something so meaningful. As for the Queen, your mother, wouldn't she want to see you happy? Mothers are supposed to support their sons decisions, please excuse me, I mean no disrespect, but it seems that the true problem lies between what your mother wants and what you want. Just bear a little advice in mind from a measly kitchen maid Prince Cal, you must live with your decisions, the Queen does not." She smiled at him reassuringly and reached into her basket of roses. "I hope you make the best decision for YOU, Your Majesty, and know that you'll have at least one person on your side when it comes to it." She handed him a flower and blushed the same shade of red as the petals.

[fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;overflow:auto;height:200px;width:250px;text-align:justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:8pt;]I listened to the guard carefully as he spoke, and surprisingly me did not scold me for my sharp tongue but rather agreed with me like a true gentlemen. I hadn't known any of the guards had it in them to back down and stop being so pig-headed like they wore crowns on their head. "Please to meet you Teagan," I said with a polite smile figuring that I should at least make up a little bit for my blunt words. I had keenly noticed the hot, jealous stares I was receiving from the other maids, I certainly wasn't used to be under this level scrutiny. I watched as he flashed me a dazzling smile, a smile that would make other women swoon yet I managed to keep my composure. I certainly didn't want to be like those other silly, naive girls charmed only by looks and clever words.
My dark oculars widened when I mentioned that I was to be his own personal server for the Queenstrial. That escalated quickly I thought to myself as I felt heat rising in my cheeks. I avoided all the stares of the other girls wondering why the h*ll had a knight second to the prince taken an interest in me. It wasn't as if I had saved his life, all I had done was given him an apple and exchanged a few sharp words. I sighed softly and there was always the difference of blood mine was red and his was silver. This was all too much to wrap my head around, I couldn't wait until Tess came back to spill everything. I had realized she had been gone with quite awhile, how long did it take to cut a bouquet of roses anyway?

Teagan:
Teagan heard the trumpeting from the Great Hall and headed towards the noise slowly. Carefully, he finished his apple and tossed the core out one of the many windows of the palace. Realizing that he needed to be there for Cal, Teagan hurried along at a much quicker pace. His thoughts were on the Queenstrial but were more so among the Red that he had met only a few moments ago. Clara. Teagan was enthralled by her. It wasn't so much of an attraction, or at least he thought it wasnt, but a mere curiosity. He couldn't fathom the stubbornness that she had shown him. He was glad to have embarrassed her a little in the kitchen. It was only a slight retribution for her premature impatience with him. As he entered the Great Hall, Teagan marvelled at the decor. Everything was decorated from the ceiling to the floor. He admired the view before spotting his seat. He eased himself into the wooden chair and looked around for Cal. It was kind of ironic that he would be late to the Queenstrial.
Tess:
Tess blushed at Prince Cal's promise of handing her a flower for their next meeting. She jumped at the sound of the trumpets and was snapped out of her reverie. "Tess Grayson, Your Majesty," She said after gaining her composure. She bowed her head and curtzied (don't know how to spell it.....) delicately before turning to go. "Please excuse md." Tess excused herself and walked briskly towards the kitchens. She had been away for far too long and she had a lot to tell Clara.

[fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;overflow:auto;height:200px;width:250px;text-align:justify;font-family:georgia;font-size:8pt;]I heard the familiar sound of the trumpets sounding the message that the Queenstrial was about to begin. I wiped the sweat from my brow as the cook hurried us to the back room to hang our aprons up so that we would at least look somewhat presentable when we went to serve all of the nobles. The last of the delicacies had been baked and prepared now it was time for the serving to begin. My thoughts drifted back to Teagan who I would be serving throughout the Queentrial, I could hear furious whispers of the other girls as they hung up their aprons giving me looks that could kill. A nervous excitement filled up inside of me as we were each given our different plates to carry out to distribute among the nobles if it pleased them. My forehead creased with worry as I realized that Tess wasn't anywhere in sight, I wondered what was holding her up. She had better hurry up risk a flogging from the head of staff who was shrieking at the top of her frail lungs.
Ignoring the loud noise, I grabbed one of the platters from the counter and followed the line of the other servants as they ascended up the stairs towards the Great Hall which had been transformed into an arena made specifically for the Queenstrial. One of held open the crimson red curtain for us as we entered into the Great Hall. The vividness of it all nearly took my breath away, lords and ladies from all over were seated according to their houses, their clothes rich with their house color and the intricate stitching of their emblem. I easily spotted Teagan's box. The crackle of electricity from the protective field could be heard over the deafening roar of the crowd. I had been warned that many of the boxes moved to offer a better vantage point to the viewers. I gripped the edge of the platter of pastries and cakes I was holding as I made my way through until I reached Teagan's box. "May I offer you a pastry or anything to drink, sir?" I asked with a polite smile not daring to address him by his first name in fear that someone would overhear.

Teagan watched as the electrical field surrounded the empty space in the middle of the room. He was seated in a box of his own, next to Prince Cal's. At the sound of a voice he turned to look behind him. Clara. He visibly relaxed and gave her a Cheshire grin. "Yes, please. I'd like some brandy please and one of the cherry tarts, that YOU made thank you, miss." He turned towards the royal box ad Prince Cal was introduced. Teagan saw the worry and anxiousness on his friend's face and shot him a questioning look. Cal was nervous and Teagan could understand why. Choosing a bride so prematurely was not a comfortable situation. He could only imagine what Cal was going through.
Tess hurried into the kitchen just as the line of maids were heading out. Ignoring the shouts from the head of staff and quickly, but gracefully picked up a large silver platter. Slipping into the line of maids, she glanced around, looking to see where Clara was. She instantly spotted her serving one of the high ranking Knights seated next to the royal box. Begrudgingly she looked around to see who she would be serving and became extremely nervous when she discovered that it would be the royal box. Slipping gently through the crowd, Tess cleared her throat. "Your Highnesses, can I offer you anything to drink or eat?" She asked politely without looking them directly in the eye. She held the silver platter in front of her and offered them the many pastries that were delicately arranged in a colorful pattern.

The worry was apparent on his face when he looked at the prince though, I could tell that the bond they shared seemed more to be like brothers rather than friends. As soon as Teagan took some cherry tarts I hurried away to fetch his brandy for him.
I walked behind one of the red curtains to where the alcohol was held where I observed a few of the maids standing in the far corner whispering shooting angry looks in my direction. Ignoring them I carefully poured a helpful serving of brandy into one of the ornate silver goblets. I made my way back towards the box where Teagan sat watching the first competitor, a nymph by the looks of it. I watched for a moment then turned back towards the guard to give him his brandy. "Anything else sir?" I asked a light smile on my lips.
(Tess can fall into the electricity pit soon if you want then Prince Cal will valiantly rescue her or something like that. ;) )

Teagan watched the nymph and her talents. He took his brandy when Clara cane back with it. "No, that's all thank you Clara." He said without looking at her. He turned to Cal to see if his thoughts were painted on his features. They were. He was unimpressed. Teagan leaned back in his chair, waiting for the next girl. As the nymph finished, he leaned forward in his chair again. He looked to Cal to see what he thought but again saw unimpressment. He sighed. This would be extremely difficult.
Tessa turned to the king and queen. Before she knew what was happening, she was pushed by another maid. Tess lost her balance and pitched forward. She grappled for a handhold but finding none fell out of the royal box. As she hurtled towards the ground she could hear the electric field. Tess knew she was gunna die. A tear escaped her eye as she screamed a bloodcurdling shriek of despair. She squeezed her eyes shut tight but felt no shock. As she fell farther she thought of her family, and her friend Clara, and lastly Prince Cal.

A blood-curling scream that made my skin turn to ice. I rapidly turned around only to see a figure hurling towards the electric field by the looks of it a maid. I had been warned of this, and a fall into the electric field meant a gruesome death. I squinted my eyes to get a better look at who it was. When I saw her face I felt my legs give out beneath me leaving me helplessly gripping on to the box as I sat sprawled on the stairs in a state of shock, the blood draining from my cheeks. This could not be happening. I tried to shut my eyes but I just kept staring in pure horror as the few of seconds of her falling felt like a millennium. Then she fell on to the sizzling field, and it was if the breath of everyone in the crowd was ripped away.
I waited for the smell of flesh burning or the horrific sight of her body charred from the electricity but she remained untouched like she was merely sleeping peacefully. My eyes widened in disbelief at what I was witnessing. I forced myself to try to find a logical explanation that my mind was playing some sort of cruel psychological trick on me. No Red had ever survived a fall like that, they would have died instantaneously unless she wasn't a Red.....she was something different entirely.

Teagan:
Teagan took a generous gulp of his brandy when he heard the shrill shriek. Setting his glass down in a hurry, he stood to look for the owner of the scream. He saw her.....falling to her death into the arena. A maid. He watched with a sort of dread, waiting for the smell of charred flesh and the thunk of a lifeless body. Surprisingly, he witnessed just the opposite. It seemed that the Red made it through perfectly fine. Unconscious, yes but dead? No. When Cal jumped over the small ledge and yelled to the guards to turn off the field, Teagan knew something was different about this Red. Cal wouldn't do this for anyone. Quickly, being a good investigator, Teagan left his box and hurried down a corridor. He heard Cal's thunderous commands and made his way in that direction. He was yelling at a Healer. Bursting through the door, Teagan shrunk towards the wall at the sight of the Queen. "Your Highness," he said coolly to the Queen, "I mean no disrespect, but your son may have very well just saved a life. His heroism will be talked about among the kingdom, making him more popular and the family all the more liked. Your son is simply ensuring that the family remain as royalty by seeming all the more caring. His valor will be praised. This was quite a smart decision for your son." Teagan flashed her a dazzling smile, "He takes after his mother, except she's more beautiful." With that he took her hand and kissed the back of it.
Tess:
Tess remembered the falling sensation but little else. Before she knew it, her world went black. She dreamed of her family. Tess could see her mother's smiling face in the window of their small cottage-like home. She was baking her famous apple pie, and it was in the window cooling. Her father was in the garden, picking fresh vegetables to make into a stew. Her sister was somewhere in the woods playing before dinner. They seemed as if they were a normal family, but the dark circles from sleepless nights under her parents eyes told Tess otherwise. They were in a hardship, and barely making it through. The thought of her struggling parents made her want to cry. Blindly, she reached out towards her mother, wanting to touch her.
Outside of Tess's dream: Tess's hand twitched and a tear escaped before rolling down her cheek. She took a sudden breath as if something scared her and then settled again.
ooc I'm gunna make Tess a windweaver as well as a burner.

I rushed up the stairs ignoring the stares I received as I barreled through the red curtains to the main hallways where I was determined to find the bedchamber where my friend lay injured or worse dead. (Read Clara's post then the Queen's, then Cal's )

I walked straight into the room ignoring their royal highnesses, in other circumstance I wouldn't be I needed to see Tess before she took her last breaths. I knelt by her bedside holding her pale hand in my her face as cold as skin of a Silver. My heart wrenched when she cried out in her dream, calling for someone presumably her mother. It felt as if an icy hand was gripping my throat as I tried to hold back the tears. She was my best friend, how could anyone replace her?

"Oh Teagan, stop trying to cover your mockery of me with flattery," said Rowena cooly as she dropped her hand after Tegan had kissed it. She had never quite liked the boy Cal had picked has his head guard, he was too free-spirited and too sharp-witted for his own good. His tongue could land him in the dungeon if he wasn't careful, which she would happily oblige to yet he was her son's best friend for some odd reason. "Cal, honestly darling why all the melodramatics. This is a red servant girl, thousands of them die everyday for us and today is the day you care about one of them?" she said in a icy tone her blue eyes staring angrily at her son. This was the day he was suppose to choose a wife and be happy, or at least by her standards. She was this close to picking the submissive nymph girl for him, at least she would be easy to control and she would be happy to do the Queen's bidding. Her eyes narrowed when they rested on the girl laying on the silken sheets probably dirtying them with her Red filth. The Queen sighed, "Teagan you may go, I need to have a conversation with my son," she said firmly knowing full well that the arrogant guard would probably be standing right outside the door eavesdropping on the whole d*mn thing. She brushed back her silky blond waves with her slender hand trying to keep the frustration within. It had always seemed as if Cal wanted to oppose her, in choosing the guard, choosing a wife, everything. She hated it but she kept quiet to keep the peace but one of these days he would wake the anger inside of her.

Teagan: Teagan turned his back to the queen as he retreated into the hallway as she asked. He said nothing as he left, probably not the best of ideas, but right now he wasn't in the mood to cater to her antics. He wanted to talk to Cal, and the only reason he left the room was because Cal had asked him to. He and Teagan had been best friends for a while and Teagan never let Cal down. Whatever he wanted, Teagan would give him. When Teagan retreated to the hallway, he stood right outside the door, his back against the jamb. He listened closely to their conversation and scowled at the nasty remarks from the Queen. So what of the color of their blood? They're humans too. As he continued to listen, Teagan's heart constricted at Cal's sudden decision. He intended to marry this young woman? Had they even met before? That was absurd! Or was it? Teagan thought for a moment before returning to the room. He spoke carefully, sensing the tension in the room. "Your Highnesses, if I may make a suggestion? If this young Red deed indeed survive the fall through the barrier, then that means that she may have some sort of a power like a Silver. There must be some Silver blood in her or perhaps she is just different. Even so, instead of making such a brash decision, why don't you let her compete in the Queenstrial and have her PROVE her worth, rather than just ASSUME that she's worth being married to the future king. Only a suggestion, Your Highnesses."
Tess:
Tess couldn't keep up as her dreams switched suddenly. She saw the bust cobblestone corner that she met Clara on everyday. The old clock chimed as the hour struck and she nervously looked for her friend in the crowd. Tess was always nervous that she wouldn't be able to find Clara in the crowd or worse, that her friend had already left her. Clara was the only person that understood her in these hard times and she was definitely someone that Tess did not want to lose. Clara was her only confident, the only one she trusted and loved as much as her family. They were like sisters. She smiled when she saw the familiar face waiting underneath the clock where she always did. She hadn't left after all. Clara never had left her.
Outside of the dream: Tess smiled slightly and gripped the hand that was holding hers tightly. Her eyelids fluttered slightly but didn't open. It was as if her body sensed that there was chaos happening in the room and kept her mind comatose.
