    The she cat looked at the tortie tom waiting for the male to go into the corner like Shypaw had asked. The young mother(? I don't know if you cant call it like that since the kits aren't even born yet) looked at the loner "Ca-can you move to the corner p-ple-please?" she asked her voice cracking at the end.

    "Wow that's what they get for being mean!!!" Sunkit laughed and quickly took a small bit. He looked up at Hailbird and smiled.


    "No you don't" Emeraldpaw hissed and quickly slipped from under the bigger tom. The rather small cat quickly jumped at Rowanpaw and swiped at his ear.

    It didn't take the talented hunter long to find a lizard. She pounced and killed it. Carrying it's carcass back to the tom and her friend.




    "In a way it was an honour that they chose you, they clearly thought you were capable of carrying out such important duties, but in another way, I cannot see the fairness of the situation" she mewed, smiling fondly at SnowWhisker. She was about to continue her little speech when she saw ThistlePaw burst through into the small path, and she felt her fur raise on her shoulders before settling, she hadn't picked up ThistlePaw's scent, so was caught off guard by her. "Of course, but I was just walking with SnowWhisker, you can join us if you please, we'll leave for the patrol with OwlShadow in a few moments" she purred to the apprentice, not wanting to rush of so abruptly.


    "Try to confuse your opponent, predict their next move by looking at their eyes and positioning" DarkenedEye informed the apprentices, flicking his tail, he quite liked mentoring RowanPaw, he was enthusiastic and that sometimes made him clumsy, but he was a fast learner and would make a fine warrior one day.

    Thistlepaw nodded, she had overheard a bit if the conversation "snowwhisker why don't you talk to featherpool the eclipseclan medicen cat? The same thing happened to him remeber? The medicen cat before him was really old and sick with no apprentice so he had to learn and then when the mentor died he was still so young, if anyone would understand its him." She assured him.


    Rowanpaw twitched him ear sheepishly "hey!" He mewed, and hearing his mentors words rushed towards emeraldpaw and sealed at his head before going to jab his undrbelly

    "No im fine" Snowfether sighed to Thistelpaw. "Its just my apprentice is better than I am" He mwed and looked at the she-cat.

    DarkenedEye said nothing and watched the RowanPaw's attack, he wanted to see how EmeraldPaw retaliated before praising his apprentice, he glanced over at SpiritStar to read her expression.


    RainShimmer refrained from snapping at SnowWhisker, "your mind is occupied SnowWhisker, PaintedPaw is only better than you in your eyes because you are to distracted to work, no cat is better than one another, your her mentor, don't disappoint her by giving up because you've lost faith in yourself" she mewed, her voice softer that she'd intitally intended. She looked nervously at ThistlePaw, then sighed, smiling at her apprentice, she loved being a mentor.

    "Thanks Rainsimmer" Snowfeather meowed and felt tears stareing to roll down his cheeks. "I have given up.. Ill show them Ill be the best med cat ever" he purred.

    Emeraldpaw glanced around and saw his paw comfort the jab. He let himself get grabed but quickly took the momentum he got from being pushed back and quickly slid to the side and pushed Rowenpaw to the ground.

    RainShimmer felt a smile flicker onto her dark features, "but you can't be the best medicine cat unless you get back to camp, quickly! There must be a hurt kit to tend to or herbs to organise back at camp, or maybe some restocking?" She purred encouragingly to him, glancing back to camp, "anyways, we'd better get going, otherwise PorcelinSoul will shred us into fresh-kill!" She added jokily, flicking her tail to ThistlePaw.


    DarkenedEye almost purred in amusement, but continued to watch them tussle on the ground, RowanPaw's move had been surprising and had caught EmeraldPaw off guard, but he had quickly adapted to the new situation.

    Tears burned in Paintedpaw's eyes and she sat down with a thud, "It's nothing. N-nothing." she rasped softly, her ears laying flat on her head, her tail flopping down around her paws.

    "Ok" Snowfeather mowed and sprinted back. Once he returned to camp he saw the horror of sunkits face. He walked up to hailbird and sunkit. "What happened" he asked, Worried.


    Sunkit smiled. "I got a boo boo" he meowed.

    The Tom weakly backed into the corner and blinked at the food.


    "Yeah, paintedpaw is amazing..." She mewed dreamily not meaning to be offensive then "ok!" And bounded happily back to camp her grey unkempt fur sticking out in all tufty directions.

    Rowanpaw rolled over and dashed around before circling back towards emeraldpaw and jumped into o his back, taking his sheathed paws down his spine in a non painful fasion be then jumped of and dashed out of reach.


    Spiritstar seemed calm and slightly proud, emeraldpaw was showing to be a great fighter, she nodded at darkened eye, she had seen all shed needed, it was now up to darkened eye as to when to end this practise fight.

    RainShimmer followed the eager apprentice, sprinting for a few seconds before slowing to her bouncy pace, looking around camp for OwlShadow when they arrived, "There he is" she mewed to ThistlePaw, flicking her tail in his direction before padding over slowly.


    DarkenedEye waited for a few moments until RowanPaw disappeared, before getting to his paws, having no noticed SpiritStar's signal a few moments before, "Okay, we've seen enough" he mewed, nodding to SpiritStar for a second confirmation.

    "Please don't be sad Paintedpaw," she said trying to sit by her but only tripping with her head at Paintedpaw's feet.

    Paintedpaw sat for a moment, trying to hold back her tears, but a few trickled down her cheeks as she processed what happened. She saw Pearlkit and smiled, carefully helping her up, "Be careful, dear." she said softly, smiling gently.


    yay! Now opticalIllusion can be in love xD

    Emeraldpaw smiled. What he lacked in strength and in body muscle, he made up in speed. He quickly dashed after rowenpaw. He quickly slammed his shoulder against him. He then darted to the other side of him and raked his sheathed claws against him and slammed him onto the ground (Mainly using his gathered up speed)
