[fancypost borderwidth=0;font-size:8pt; text-align:justify; line-height:95%; width:400px;]Dirk, in all honesty, felt kind of bad about the whole Jake situation. That was not how he had been planning their reunion, at all. He had been wrong to assume he would've gotten a hug or at least an "I missed you", and had instead received a bunch of yelling and an argument. And he couldn't help but feel it was his fault. So, God damn it, he was going to apologize and hopefully make it up to him somehow, seeing as they at least were still getting married.

Dirk wandered the to-be den lamely, hoping that Jake would be there. "Jake?" He called out smoothly, eyes glancing back and forth in the rather large den hopefully.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid white; text-align: justify; width: 350px;] In the meantime, Jake actually had some time to cool down. He had thought about it a lot and came to the conclusion that the outburst back then was a little harsh, though he didn't fully regret it yet. Of course, he was sorry...he just didn't know how Dirk would take that. Jake had been an angry mess back then and it was obvious that he never handled pressure well. Whatever that was, it certainly wasn't a good impression for everyone else, and Jake was surprised that some still wanted to interact with him even after seeing him at his worst.

Jake hadn't been doing much at the moment; well, he had been studying his sword, but he had to admit that he was just zoning out through most of it. At the sound of his real name being called, Jake tensed up in surprise only to relax as soon as he recognized the voice, which only took seconds for him to do as the voice was one he could easily identify. Dirk. "Oh, Dirk," Jake looked up, feeling his heartbeat begin to race as he realized that the two of them had been left on bad terms the last time they've interacted, then continued, "How may I help you?" Part of Jake wanted to apologize and the other part of him felt as if there was nothing he needed to apologize for, so he decided to keep practical and not mention it until he was certain of what he had to do.

[fancypost borderwidth=0;font-size:8pt; text-align:justify; line-height:95%; width:400px;]He was glad he was there and he was not just calling out his fiance's name into nothing like he had expected would happen. But that only made it harder for him. Alright, well, there was no backing out now. Besides, this was Jake, not the leader he had to apologize to. Though it might as well be. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, and took a seat before him, his tail flicking to and fro like it did when he was nervous. "I'm sorry," He started, trying to sound casual but pretty much failing. "I shouldn't have left when I thought you were gone. I'm not gonna make any excuses."

His gaze flicked over to Jake's sword, then to the wall, trying to find other things to focus on that was not Jake English. "So if you're angry at me then you have every right to be. And I don't blame you for anything." Dirk concluded after a moment, then settled back to wait for any kind of reply.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid white; text-align: justify; width: 350px;] The last thing Jake expected to hear was an apology. At first, he believed that it was some kind of joke but as he listened, he realize that it was sincere...or at least he thought it was. Honestly, Dirk didn't really have anything to be sorry for. Jake was the first to stray from the group and he probably deserved it when they left. That part of Jake was beginning to take over but there was still one small part of him that believed that Jake was justified in yelling at Dirk, even though it really wasn't Dirk's fault. If it was anyone's fault, it was Jake's. He had been the cause of a majority of this problem, if not all.

Jake seemed hesitant at first before he admit, "No, I'm not mad at you. I mean, not anymore. It really wasn't your fault." He might as well apologize, right? After all, he cared more about this relationship than his did his own pride. "I'm sorry. I was the first to leave, after all. You didn't deserve...most of the yelling." He was obviously joking at the last sentence, sort of as an ice-breaker between them.

[fancypost borderwidth=0;font-size:8pt; text-align:justify; line-height:95%; width:400px;]Well, thank God there was no more yelling. Dirk wasn't sure he'd be able to take any more yelling, especially when the yelling was coming from one of the ones he loved the most. His tense body relaxed as he went on, and the corners of his mouth twitched upwards slightly at his joke. "Glad you're not still mad." He said softly, his tail settling down a tad.

"No need to apologize. I deserved it." His shoulders went up in a small shrug, his gaze flicking over to him finally. "If it means anything to you, I missed you." He added a bit more quietly, averting his gaze again.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid white; text-align: justify; width: 350px;] It appeared as if they were beginning to go back onto good terms, which was perfect. The last thing Jake needed was relationship problems piled up with all of his other problems. Well, he actually didn't have a lot of them now. All he had to do was worry about his job and otherwise, there was little to nothing to bring him down, thankfully. Still, if he got caught, then it was gameover for him, and that wasn't going to be good. "Awww, you dork," Jake teased, just because he saw the opportunity and took it while he had the chance. Despite being a total sweetheart, Jake was an asshole as well. Hey, wasn't everyone?

"I missed you too." Jake then admit; he did miss him, after all. If he didn't, then he wouldn't have been so upset about it back at his joining. It was a horrible feeling, especially since Jake had believed that he had been left back then. At least they were actually putting that out there, as it seemed to be helping.
