Several hushed voices pierced the thin air as the cats waited, hidden in the brush at the base of Leapordclan territory. Sunlight began to barrel down through the trees. Anxiousness was in the air as the scent of cats drew closer. All the cats looked at Hazelstar for orders, but none would question any decision he made. Two large cats and an apprentice strolled out from behind a particularly large tree, and instinct caused Hazelstar to unsheathe his massive claws. Tension grew as the other cats in the group copied this. "Remember," He whispered quietly, "Give them something to remember us, a lesson, but nothing more." A disgraced hiss came from the back of the group, there wasn't enough time to address it, the group was in range. He let out a terrifying yowl and jumped at the cats.
The first warrior swung at him, but his dazed state made him easy to knock over. Hazelstar latched onto the black and brown pelt with his teeth, keeping a firm grasp on the warrior's shoulder. The tom swung his head back and forth in a feeble attempt to loosen the leader's grip, and Hazelstar saw his chance. As blood stained him coat, the warrior jumped up onto his hind legs, clawing vigorously at the fur on Hazelstar's back. Dropping the cat's shoulder caused him to lose balance, falling onto Hazelstar, who quickly jutted upwards into the cats belly. He then took the offensive, hooking the cats skin in his claws and drawing them across the cat. He let out a yowl and kicked Hazelstar away, leaping to his feet and sprinting into the trees. Hazelstar whipped around to see the other Frostclan cats scratching and biting at the last warrior, he took the chance and grabbed his opponent by the scruff and throwing him to the ground. The she-cat's fur was coated in blood and her claws held the fur of the Frostclan deputy, Swallowspot. "Run!" Hazelstar commanded with a final nip, "And tell that leader of yours that if it's war he wants! It's war he'll get!"

OOC: Is there a sign-up for this, because this seems quite interesting. Or do you just jump in?
-
Go ahead and jump in! I will need a warrior name for you though, anything is good!
-
Robinthorn shook her head to try and clear the dazed look from her eyes. A gash in her flank pulsed with pain, but she ignored it as her leader led the way off the battlefield. Panting, she trailed near the back of the group, weariness evident in each step she took.
Icefang, Robinthorn's sister, was less tired. She looked as if she had become leader of StarClan! Fighting was Icefang's specialty, but maybe she was a bit too involved in it. She remembered slashing a tom's stomach, tearing the tip of an ear off a she-cat, and yanking so hard on someone's tail it dislocated itself. But Icefang didn't feel embarrassed. To be honest, she felt proud of what she'd done. Not something you normally want to see in a cat.
"Those cats put up some fight," Robinthorn panted, her breath slowing down.
Icefang merely shrugged. "They were easy. Too easy, if you ask me." -
Hazelstar led the way back through the damp trees, listening silently to the chatter of the cats behind him. "I hope none of you treat this as a joke, this means that Leapordclan will be on us in days!" He hesitated at wheat he was about to say, "Rabbitflash has been avenged, not through a life being lost in her favor, but a lesson being taught in her honor." Rabbitflash had been him first ever apprentice and the thought of the Leapordclan warrior standing over her mangled, limp body made his belly ache.
-
"Rabbitflash was a great warrior," Robinthorn mused from th.e back of the patrol. She had known the she-cat and thought fondly of her.s he had been a great warrior.
"But we avenged her death in the best way possible." Icefang smirked. "Those LeopardClan mange-pelts know nothing of honor." -
Hazelstar felt slightly amused, "They'd rip the skins off each other if Mountainstar wasn't there." These cats did not know his fondness of the cat came from a mutual respect and a life saved.
-
Robinthorn sighed as they neared camp. "I hate fighting," she admitted, "but I would hurt any cat who dares to cross FrostClan."
Icefang nodded, but she added nothing to the conversation. Her mind was whirling with images of blood and the sounds of muted yowls. And, sadly, she enjoyed them. They accompanied her bloodied claws nicely. -
The camp scent filled Hazelstar with a scene of calmness. He watched the kits playing by the nursery and the apprentices play fighting. The small cats struck a raw nerve inside him at the recollection of Rabbitflash's death. The she-cat had been ripped apart with no mercy by the large brown pelted cat. He didn't want to see that ever again, but with the war declaration, he might have to. Mustering all the strength he could, he leaped to a large rock that sat in the middle of the clan. No matter what these cats thought or how they felt, war was upon them.
-
Even before the leader called a Clan meeting, Robinthorn was already sitting below the rock. Icefang was slower to follow, but she ended up following her sister.
-
"My clan," Hazelstar started, his chest felt heavy with the news he brought, "As many of you know, one of our great warriors, Rabbitflash, was cut down by a Leapordclan warrior." The words left a bitter taste in his mouth. "There was no reason for her death, she was killed in our territory. We took this as a sign of war and we retaliated." All eyes were glued onto the leader, watching with disgust and terror. "Today me and a small group of warriors attacked a Leapordclan patrol." Yowls of agreement came from the group. "There were no fatalities, but, as you can imagine, this was taken as accepting war." The yowls died down to dull whispers. "I need you all to be prepared for full on war, we don't know when, we don't know were, but we do know something. It's coming, and it will be ferocious!"
-
Icefang and a few other warriors yowled in agreement. During the commotion, Duststorm, their brother, had come up to sit beside Robinthorn, and his yowl joined the others.
Robinthorn was less eager. Sure, her screech was their, hit she just wasn't a fighter like her siblings. Her tail wrapped around her paws, she turned her head to the ground. -
The large tom was concerned for the well being of all cats in his clan, this war was his fault, and many lives were in danger. As he finished the speech, the cats broke into yowls. He felt his heart beat and felt exhilaration run through him in the form of adrenaline. His voice joined the others in a cheer and he looked around the clearing, "In preparation, I have decided to make Tinyleaf's kits apprentices early." The queen was sitting in the clearing, her expression was excited and the kits next to her were ecstatic.
-
Duststorm, Robinthorn, and Icefang all turned their heads to gaze at Tinyleaf and her kits. Three of them in all, they bounced around their mother's paws, unable to calm down despite Tinyleaf's attempts to groom them and prep them. Robinthorn giggled at this while Duststorm whispered, "Those kits are like squirrels when they see a pile of nuts."
-
"It is unusual to make an apprentice at 5 moons, but exceptions must be made. The mentors also do not know, but have not been chosen randomly." He looked around the group, eyeing three cats. "If you would please come up." The three kits nearly climbed on top of each other to sit beside him. Rabbitflash was just as excited at her ceremony. "Duststorm, you have demonstrated courage and strength on the field of battle, I believe that you have all it takes to become Honeykit's mentor."
-
Duststorm looked quite shocked but excited as he stared up at his leader. Robinthorn had to nudge him to get him to stand.
Once there, Duststorm stared proudly down at Honeykit -- wait, no, she'll be Honeypaw in a moment -- and bent down to touch his muzzle to her head. -
"From this moment on this kit will be known as Honeypaw!" The kits pale fur puffed with excitement. He flicked his tail to summon the second kit to him. "Icefang, will you take Sandykit as your own apprentice."
-
Icefang's gaze brightened as she stood up, buffing out her chest fur a bit. She didn't mean to be boastful, but an apprentices was a lot of responsibility. Hazelstar was showing that she deserved an apprentice!
Padding over to Sandykit, she touched her her muzzle to the kit's forehead. -
The final kit sat waiting calmly, looking at his leader with unmoved eyes. "Finally, Robinthorn, Your determination and loyalty are as great as any cat in the clan, and you have the ability to think on your feet. Ashenkit will be your apprentice if you wish."
-
Robinthorn nodded eagerly. "Yes! Oh, yes!" Nearly skipping, she approached Ashenkit. She noticed the kit's calmness and admired it, trying to match his demeanor as she rested her nose on his forehead.
