Raging on and on about twolegs, Emerald FINALLY decided to abandon her home for a free life. Her litter mates had gone missing at least 4 moons ago. And she has her heart set on finding them. The tortoise shell fur on her back prickled as she realized how long it had been since any food or prey. Ears now perked, she stared at a HUGE waterfall, it's mist soaking her to the tail. Her green eyes gleamed as she lapped up what seemed like gallons of the clear water. Noticing fish as well, Emerald began to drive her paw into the pool. Sensing a tense feeling in the air, she looked up to find nothing and eyed a small trout. Scraping up the scales from the water at last, she nearly chocked on her first catch of her life. Emerald then found a nice flat rock nearby and settled down to sunbathe. She knew wild animals were among her but, was to tired to start searching. Closing her eyes in what seemed a safe enviorment, she dozed off peacefully.

River was hunting by the water fall looking for voles and mice that might be around. He caught scent of a vole by the waters edge and stalked it. River caught the vole killing it with a swift bite to the neck. He had davoured his catch in a few bites.

Emerald sniffed the air waking to a scent of another cat. She perked her ears up looking not knowing that some attack kittypets. She lapped the water, jumped of the rock and headed toward the cat. Now smelling a faint scent of vole and a strong scent of cat, Emerald strode up to a stone and sat down watching it eat the mouse. Her heart ached to talk to him but she just continued to stay far from the stranger. Gaining courage at last, her voice echoed as she said. "Hello?"

Foreststar padded up. "What is a kittypet doing in clan territory?" he hissed,

River heard Emerald and turned toward her. Then he saw the ForestClan cat. He hid in the bushes watching.

Emerald seemed to be chocking on air to see yet ANOTHER cat in these woods. She had no idea a forest would have clans! "I uh...Oh I'm sorry. I'm just a wanderer now. Call me Emerald. Is this water yours?" She meowed respectfully to the stranger. Turning toward the bushes, she peered in there to find a patch of fur between the leaves. "Is River in your clan as well?"

River let out an annoyed hiss. "No I'm not I'm a loner."

"The waterfall is not rightfully ours, but the territory is." Foreststar hissed. He waved his tail, and a violent-looking cat appeared. He was Bloodlust, the clan's most violent territory. "State your reason to be here," Bloodlust hissed.

Fangscar was the next to appear, he was the son of the deputy of the clan. He wasn't scary looking at all, he was still quite small, and he wasn't broad with muscles either, but he wasn't lean either, but you shouldn't underestimate this tom either.

River came out. "I'm passing through." He said.

"I left my captive life for something more. Those twolegs think they know everything! Drives me mad! I'm also looking for a few litter mates who may as well be dead. Have you seen any black or tortoise shell cats? " Emerald narrowed her eyes to Forest knowing she gained a little confidence to escape from the humans.

"I havent." River said. "Then agian its been a while since ive seen a cat that hasnt wanted to rip my fur out."

"Oh..Well thanks any how." She fished her paw into the water only to get a fistful of wet. "So what do cats around here do for a living?"

"I wander and try to avoid them." River said pointing to Foreststar and his cats.

Her green eyes widened to see more now surrounding ForestStar. "So...Not every cat is in a clan? I heh, must sound dumb I know but, where are you in all this?" She mewed in question.

"I already told you I'm a loner. I have nothing to do with the clans." River said. "I just go around and always wandering."

"Wow. So how is it? I mean the roaming freely part. Not the clan part." She twisted her tail in the air and flung it down again watching the water.

"Well one thing I've learnd is that you cant trust others." River said. "You follow your gut and listen only if nessicary. You wouldnt know that though. Your a kittypet that strayed from her owner."

Her deep green eyes glared long. "I may be lost, but I have my reasons to be. And my instinct has always been to run. I don't know why I didn't run from the twolegs a long time ago." She then leaped into the water snatching a fish and gliding to the bank.

River sat down. "Then why are you here?" He asked eyes narrowed. "A kittypet isnt fit for the life of a loner and good luck finding a clan that will adopt you!"
