At her first initial reaction of rolling her eyes, Henry couldn't help but slowly make his eyebrows furrowed in a distaste expression. It only grew greater as the female continued to speak. Eventually a light scowl had appeared on Henry's face just as the blond woman walked past him to go to the outdoor arena. He was very tempted to snap something back in reply to her. If it were any other person at any other given time, he would've done so without hesitation. But the power that this female possessed over the school wasn't entirely known to him quite yet. Yes, she was the principles daughter and had this current duty. But depending on the way he treated her before he was accepted - could she deny his request to battle? It was very possible, and a risk he wasn't willing to take. So instead he was content with muttering his comebacks very lightly under his breath. "If you keep up with that attitude, then you'll be the one losing this battle." Was what he muttered. After that nothing else was uttered from his mouth; despite the amount of thoughts that ran through the young man's head.

His impression of Katherine was changed very quickly just by the three sentences that she had given him. She seemed very cocky, not that he himself wasn't. But at the same time he wasn't as severe as her. He would only turn to be cocky and egotistical when he lost or screwed up, in defense for what he had done, basically not allowing himself to admit that he was wrong. She was different in the fact that she seemed to literally think that she was the best at all and everything - even prior to a possible defeat. Henry would grow that way when his forte was questioned. But of course, battling had to be one of Katherine's forte's, if she was the entrance exam rival. So maybe in that aspect they weren't too different from each other.

Either way his hands slowly slid out of his pockets and the leather gloved hands turned into gripped fists. With a walk that could only be described as stiff he followed after Katherine to the chosen arena. In his head he wondered what types of Pokémon she carried with her. Were they strong, weak, or neither against his own types? There would be only one way to find out of course. He had only kept Reuniclus out for that reason. He didn't want anyone knowing what he had in his entire team of six.

As Henry approached the door leading to the outside, he used his right hand to push against the bar in which opened the door. His eyes were suddenly hit with a harsh sunlight that he wasn't used to. He had traveled to this school in the very early of the morning, when the sun was just barely rising. So seeing this for the first time today was a bit surprising. Holding the door for Reiu, the Reuniclus floated his way through the door with his two arms bouncing ever so slightly. He made a little chirp noise as if he was thanking his trainer, then Henry followed on after him. Hearing the door promptly click closed behind him. Being out for only a few more seconds allowed his eyes to adjust accordingly, and he could see things better now.

Viewing the outdoors, it was exactly what he had expected. Since it shared the same characteristics as the pictures that were in the pamphlet for the school. From what he could tell it just seemed like the classic battling field. It was probably made of dirt like most outdoor battling fields. The lines being created by white spray paint. He chose one of the two boxes on the field in which the trainers stood. Approaching it, he stood in there with his feet at shoulder width. His hands were still held in the same position by his sides. He looked up at Reiu, and it looked back at him. Henry swiped his brown leather jacket to the side, revealing a row of red and white Pokéballs on his belt. Pulling the first one out he let his jacket fall over them again to cover the row. Reaching upwards and pointing the ball at Reiuniclus he said, "It'd be safest for you to return for now, so you can rest up if I need you in battle." He offered his Reiu a small smile. The Reiuniclus nodded in agreement, making some noises that were akin to the Pokémon's cry. Though Henry couldn't know what Reiu was saying, from his actions he could assume that it was something along the lines of wishing him luck. Henry gave the lightest chuckle, clicking the small white button in the middle of the Pokéball. A red jagged light shot out from it, spawning towards Reiu. The light then enveloped the Pokémon and made it much smaller, until it was only a small red ball. Then it pulled Reiu back and the Pokéball opened at it's horizontal equator, sucking Reiu in. Once the red ball was safely inside the Pokéball, it closed with a light snap.

Henry brushed his brown leather jacket to the side again, so that he could reattach Reiu's ball to his belt. As his hand fell back to the side his jacket returned to it's original position as well. Henry's head turned to look directly at Katherine, the first time since she stood on the opposing end of the field as him. Meeting his grey eyes with hers he asked questions that pertained to the up coming battle. "What format shall our battle be?" He questioned. This one question pertaining to things like the number of Pokémon, use of Mega evolution and such. [/fancypost]

As Henry began listening to the reply that Katherine that conjured up, his arms slowly crossed over his chest. At this point he had expected nothing less from her, and if she had said something that wasn't along those lines he probably would've been shocked and confused. She was handing him the advantage in the battle, why was that? He was allowed to use twice the amount of Pokémon that she claimed that she was going to use. Well, he wasn't complaining and he wasn't about to ponder on it for too long. It aided him so there was no reason to point out that it would make the match unbalanced and unfair. If that is how she wished to play, then they would play that way.

While Henry was thinking, he felt his pants press into his leg as a small body brushed against it. His serious and slightly irritable face changed very quickly to one of curiosity. Glancing downward to his left side, having to look over his own elbow, he saw a small purple Pokémon rubbing it's head against his leg. It was an Espeon, one of the many Eveelutions that had been discovered over the years. Recalling in his memory, it was solely a psychic type and evolved from receiving friendship during the day time. The small yet powerful Pokémon's friendly actions couldn't help but make his expression soften ever so slightly and a small smile appear on his face. Letting his arms uncross from against his chest he bent downward so that he could reach the Espeon. As it wrapped it's tail around his leg as well, Henry reached forward with his left hand and gently gave the Pokémon two strokes from it's head to the end of it's back. "Thank you, I'm looking forward to battling you." He spoke to Espeon in a quiet enough voice that Katherine from across the field wouldn't hear. The friendliness of her Pokémon brightened his spirits a little bit more.

As the Espeon headed over to it's master, Henry rose to his full height again. Pushing his chest out for a single moment in a quick snapping motion, his back cracking a few times as he did so. Relaxing to his normal posture. He was admittedly slightly surprised that she openly told him the Pokémon that she was planning on sending out. This way, he had time to plan before hand what he wanted to. She was giving him many upper hands in the battle. Was it because she was required too, or that she really didn't think that he could beat her? He was worried that this battle might not come to it's full potential... but this shouldn't be a problem, as there was no reason for him not to be able to challenge her again at a later date - simply for fun.

Based on what he was told he was sure of what Pokémon that he was going to do for her first two Pokémon. The last one was a hesitant though. Since Espeon was first and it was solely a psychic type as mentioned before, he could use either Reuniclus or Gallade. Reuniclus knew a Ghost type move while Gallade knew a Dark type move - both of those moves would end up being effective against Espeon. He decided that out of the two, Gallade would be the better choice, since Reuniclus was tired from traveling with him and needed to be rejuvenated. Second was her Lucario, which happened to be a Fighting and Steel type. It would be weak against Fighting, Ground and Fire. He didn't have any Ground Pokémon or any that knew Ground type moves, so that was out of the consideration. He also didn't want to use Gallade, his psychic/fighting type, for two reasons. One, he would be tired from the previous battle. Two, fighting was only effective against steel. But since Lucario happened to also be a fighting type, it wouldn't do as much damage as he would hope. His best choice would be Gallifrey, his Delphox. Being a Fire type it would be super effective against Lucario. The last one that stumped him was her Gyarados. It would be a stale mate with that such Pokémon. None of his Pokémon was effective against the flying/water type, but at the same time Gyarados would only be effective against his Delphox. More than likely he would have to figure it out when the time came for said Pokémon.

Swiping his leather jacket to the side to reach his belt, he grabbed the third Pokéball that was in line. Letting his jacket fall back into place he held the red and white Pokéball in his hand, slightly in front of him. "Then, lets get this started." Stepping back with his right foot and swinging his right hand back, he swung his right hand again in the opposing direction and threw the Pokéball into the battle field while calling, "Leon, come on out!" The Pokeball's horizontal line broke in half, opening like a mouth. A jagged red line beamed out of it, shooting towards the ground and forming the outline of a Gallade. When it broke away, Leon the Gallade stood there in the flesh. The Pokéball then closed, and went back to Henry. Raising his arm in the air, he caught it perfectly. Pulling it down again he reattached to his belt in the corresponding spot.

Leon was instantly ready for the battle. He had been told prior to them leaving for the school that they were going to be put into a very important battle for the entrance to the school. The Gallade could feel adrenaline running through it's body. It was going to fight as hard as it could, and do no matter what to help his trainer win this important battle. Struggle to the end, till he couldn't fight anymore if that ended up being the case. Leon looked behind him at his Trainer, and a firm nod was given to Henry, full of confidence and excitement. He then looked back at his opponent - Espeon - waiting for his instructions.

Henry's smile only grew bigger when he saw the dedication that was on his Gallade. Sharing the excitement, confidence and adrenaline together. His smile eventually grew into a grin because he couldn't hold it in. "Leon, lets start off with Swords Dance." He commanded. Leon then thrashed his arms out to his sides. Swords the color of blue appeared around him, at least five. They swung a couple of times before thrusting upward and clashing together. Then, they disappeared. Red lights or sparks then appeared, shooting upward from the ground around the Gallade. This representing that his attack had been risen sharply. They did this first to finish off Espeon faster. Leon then got ready in a more defensive stance then he held previously.

Thanks to the move Leon's thoughts were being affected though he might not actually think these things out of the battle. The Espeon suddenly looked so small, adorable, and cute! How could he hurt such a Pokémon? Especially one so beautiful and majestic... Leon started getting lost in his thoughts, the move working on him. But suddenly his thoughts were broken in a very startled fashion, and his eyes grew wide. His head whipped around, looking back at his trainer.

"Leon!" Henry called, trying to snap his Pokémon out of it's daze. Henry was a bit worried about this, but at the same time he knew that his Gallade was strong and wouldn't let it affect him very much. He was glad that it wasn't the similar move to attract that rather lowered the attack stat, since he just rose it. "You have to continue to fight! Remember that winning this battle isn't only important for me, but you too!" He encouraged his Pokémon, hoping it would have some sort of effect that would help Leon continue.

Leon was at first tuning out Henry's words, too focused on thinking about the pretty Espeon that he was expected to fight. But then as his words rung through his head a little bit more, it gave a little bit of effect on him. He had a mini flash back of Henry giving him encouraging words when his previous trainer had left him behind because of his gender. He had to win for the person that saved him, and to prove his previous trainer wrong! His head turned around again to face Espeon. Though he may have broken away from the infatuation this turn, the move affected a Pokémon throughout the entire battle. So this meant that it was very possible that he would be immobile the second turn.

"That's it, use Night Slash." He encouraged, using the move that would be most effective against the opposing Epseon. Gallade gave a definite nod, a little 'hmp' coming from the Pokémon as his confidence was still boiling in his stomach. Dashing forward at a decently fast speed, his right spear-like arm started to glow with a forbidding black and dark light. As he got close enough he aimed to bring down his arm upon the Espeon with as much power that he could muster. This being more than usual, thanks to Swords Dance.

It watched with it's eyes wide as Espeon flew backwards right towards it's trainer, Katherine. Since Gallade had been hit with attract before hand he got a horrified feeling inside of him that he had done that to such a majesctic and beautiful Espeon. He stayed frozen in the same spot for a moment, starting to feel very low for what he had done. But as the Eveelution had been called back into her Pokéball, Leon's heart rose again as the effects of attract wore off. He felt much better now, straightening up into his regular standing position.

Henry was beaming at his Pokémon, feeling pride well up inside of him. He hadn't doubted in a second that he could beat the opposing Espeon. But since the outcome of this battle was so important to him, he was even more proud than he would've been for any different battle. He could tell that even though he had been hit with attract he still hit as hard as he could, for him. It made him happy to think that his Pokémon was willing to do that for their shared goal.

But from what he saw after that, he grew angry once again. The grin that was on the blond male's face started fading until his eyes were narrowed and his eyebrows were furrowed. When Espeon had been knocked back and fainted, Katherine didn't even make any sort of move to help her hurt Pokémon. She even dodged it instead of trying to catch it. Rather, she just let it skid across the ground. Henry couldn't believe the way this female was treating her Pokémon. But after a few seconds of thinking, he wasn't as surprised. With an attitude and persona like hers he could see her being like that. How terrible. Another thing that he caught onto that he thought was very interesting, was that the Espeon didn't make any sort of attempt to dodge when the time came. Was she simply not paying attention, or had she done it on purpose?

Then suddenly, the battle was continuing. Which was something that was obviously going to happen, but it broke Henry out of his disgusted thoughts. Seeing the next Pokémon she brought out, he admittedly hadn't expected her to use Gyarados so quickly. He was thinking that Lucario was bound to be next. He didn't want Leon out during this, that was something that he knew. Even if he wasn't exactly weak to Water or Flying, he wanted to make sure that all of his Pokémon had their upmost energy. Pulling the third Pokéball from his belt once more, he held it out in front of him and clicked the white button that was presented on the front. "Leon, you battled perfectly! Thank you for trying your hardest. Return now, so that you can rest." The same red jagged light shot out and swallowed Leon, pulling him back into the ball as it closed with a click. Reaching downward he placed back onto his belt. He debated who to use next... but it didn't take him long. The answer was almost obvious. Pulling the second Pokéball he took the same throwing position as previously. "Trevor, it's your turn." Trevor, a Metagross, came shooting out of the Pokéball. Catching the Pokéball that he threw out, he placed it back onto his belt.

Knowing that neither had a type advantage, he was going to have to do something to raise his abilities. He could also make the assumption that Katherine was going to attempt to do the same thing with her Pokémon. Since he knew that Gyarados also had a Mega evolved form. Henry had a necklace that was wrapped around his neck a couple of times, holding a round Key Stone in a golden spiral encasement. Using his left hand he lifted it from his chest up to his face, and he gave the Key Stone a light kiss. Then clutching it in his hands tightly he closed his eyes and shouted, "Trevor, Mega evolve!" The little bracelet that was promptly tied around the Metagross' leg held a Metagrossite, and it started shining in response to the Key stone's light. A large purple ball started to form around the Metagross, as well as other blue and purple lights. They swirled around the Pokémon for a small amount of time, before breaking apart very suddenly in an aggressive burst. Trevor let out a loud fighting call. With its four appendages now out in front of it, Metagross could float. Which greatly increased it's speed and defense. That grin of Henry's returned on his face as he saw the amazing Mega form of his Pokémon. "Wonderful, Trevor!" He encouraged his Pokémon.

A thought came to Henry's head. Could Katherine's Pokémon Mega Evolve? She didn't really seem to be kind to them. For Mega evolution to work the trainer and the Pokémon had to have a strong bond with each other and trust each other to the end of time. He forced himself to stop thinking these thoughts though, they were wrong as he was judging a book by it's cover. For all he knew she was just a little hard on her Espeon and it wasn't same for the others.

Noting that she used Dragon Dance, it wasn't a damaging dealing attack. Rather it rose the attack and speed stat by 1 every turn. "Trevor!" He called suddenly, pointing to the opposing Gyarados with his right arm extended. "Use Meteor Mash!" The Metagross grunted in response, it was his way of agreeing or saying that he was going to do so. Backing up a few feet, the Metagross charged towards the Gyarados with all four of his arms aimed to slam down onto it's head with the force of a meteor. Henry knew that this battle wasn't going to be as quick, lucky and easy as the last one.

But depending on the environment in which a Pokémon is, the type of the move changes. So with Sunny Day being in effect, you could most likely assume that the move was fire. Mega evolving your Pokémon and making them attack is all done in a single turn--

Seeing as the Meteor Mash made contact, Henry grinned again. His hands were clenched into fists but this was thanks to the excitement that bounced around inside of them. They weren't doing to shabby! If they could beat Gyarados, the one Pokémon that he happened to be worried about, it should mostly be safe sailing after that. Mostly, and hopefully. Even if the large Water/Flying type hadn't flown back very far, their intentions wasn't to make it hit the trainer - so they were good on that note. "Perfect!" He called to his Metagross, and it grunted happily.

Dragon Dance again? Henry thought in his mind. The move Katherine commanded could make sense in some ways, but not in others. Unless she was very eager to get her attack and speed up, though he could hardly imagine this girl being eager about anything at all. Henry thought he was going to be able to get another easy shot on the Gyarados, but that suddenly appeared to not be the case. It's not listening to it's trainer! He exclaimed in his mind in shock and surprise. It suddenly subsided as that made perfect sense. She seemed like a harsh and no-love kind of trainer, so why would her Pokémon listen to her? He tried to recognize what the move was without it being called out. Either way it was some sort of beam-like move that was most likely very difficult to avoid.

His Metagross seemed to mostly read his mind though. Backing up a few feet, it clamped it's four limbs together. They formed a little hole in the middle that reached right towards his mouth in the shape of a diamond. Trevor looked back to Henry as much as he could with his non-turnable Metagross head. "Yes, go!" He agreed with his Pokémon, seeing what it was doing. Trevor quickly looked back to the Gyarados and powered up a beam in his own mouth, which only appeared when he Mega Evolved. It shot forth and formed the shape of a diamond thanks to the way that his arms were positioned. They were attempting to counter attack the Hyper Beam with another beam-like move. But it was a quick and hasty decision, one that he wasn't entirely sure if it would work or not. He couldn't remember at the top of his head which of the two moves were more powerful. Rather meaning, which one would prevail over the other. He was just going to have to watch and see, as it was also possible that the two beams could explode in the middle upon contact.
