The leader glanced among his camp, still unable to take in all the damages the volcano had caused oh so long ago. He felt anger, and sadness and lost and entirely overwhelmed with the fact that he had no one, nothing, he was alone.
Well, except for his son Stagpaw. But other than that, he was uno comando, destined to recreate whatever was left of his clan-his home- from the ashen ruins that laid before him. He sighed deeply, knowing the process would be long and painful, but the outcome would bring him honor and happiness.

  • Ivorypaw stumbled along, climbing clumsily over debris and ruins. The blind she-cat tripped many times, yet always managed to force herself to her paws, clouded blue gaze wide with fear while her ears and tail remained low, the latter dragging dejectedly on the ground behind her as she moved. Finally, the med-cat apprentice's legs could take no more, and she crumpled to the ground in exhaustion, muscles quivering with exertion. Did anyone else survive?...

    mercystar
Mercystar watched as the blind she-cat before him stumbled adnd heaved herself across the uneasy terrain. He was surprised, but felt a soft warmth flow through his body. Ivorypaw had survived which meant so could others. Upon watching her collapse, he grimaced and turned towards Stagpaw. "Help her." He instructed as he too off in the opposite. Seeing Ivorypaw had given him hope; who knows how many others had gotten through this catastrophe?

    stagpaw
He too watched as Ivorypaw struggled to get herself across the broken ruins. Upon hearing his father's instructions, he took off in a steady trot towards the medicine cat apprentice. "Ivorypaw, are you okay? It's me, Stagpaw..." He trailed off awaiting a response while frantically searching her body for any type of wounds.

  • Ivorypaw sighed in relief when Stagpaw's voice reache her ears, though she made no move to stand again. "Stagpaw? Thank Starclan that you're alright!" the she-cat grinned lightly, allowing her tail to flick lightly against the other apprentice's flank. "Is Mercystar okay, too? What about the others?" she asked worriedly.

  • Mistyclaw stood on the edge of camp, unable to fully believe her eyes. She couldn't recognize PaleClan's formerly cozy and familiar camp now, when it was wrecked hopelessly and covered with ashes like thick carpet.
Light gray she-cat's ear twitched as she heard familiar voice somewhere behind. She turned, now recognizing three silhouettes on dusty background. At first she smiled, but smile vanished as she noticed one of them laying on ground. At least someone has survived, Mistyclaw told herself, running over to her clanmates. At least I'm not alone.

    stagpaw
He smiled softly at Ivorypaw after realizing he saw no fatal damage. "I believe some have survived, Mercystar is out looking for others now. Are you okay? What's the matter?" He mused before glancing up to see Mistyclaw running towards him. Looking back down to Ivorypaw, he nudged her tail in Mistyclaw's direction. "Mistyclaw is coming over here right now she's right over... there." He mused, then turning his head to Mistyclaw and offered her a solemn smile. "Are you alright?" He asked glumly, each time asking that giving him a soft stab in his chest.

  • "I think so, yeah," Mistyclaw replied, examining her body. Apart of few bruises and scratches she was pretty much okay. Stagpaw seemed to be fine as well, so her attention was captured by Ivorypaw. "Is she okay?" marbled she-cat asked, leaning over the blind apprentice. Mistyclaw wondered, if Goldpetal had survived. There will probably be need for medicine cat.

    stagpaw
He looked down at Ivorypaw with a saddened gleam to his eyes. "I think she is just tired. She was walking and stumbling when I had found her." He sighed and watched the horizion before him. His father had yet to come back with news of anyone else. "What do you think we are to do?"

  • A large black and white tom glanced around the destroyed camp. His heart racing as he searched for a sign of movement. spiderbite soon caught a glimpse of the familiar orange tabby pelt of the apprentice Flamepaw. Darting towards Flamepaw to see if he was alive, feeling the Ash be stirred. The warrior started to shake the apprentice, and soon he lifted his head. Spiderbite felt a wave of relief wash over him, another had survived. Looking around he noticed more cats had survived.

A formally white she-cat, her fur now ash colored from the smoke made her way in the direction of camp. As she got closer devastation washed over her as she looked at the camp that now lay in ruin and covered in Ash... The first thought that came to mind was if her brother had made it, if any of her clan mates had made it. Brightspirits pale blue searched for any movement to show the others. Her eyes landed on Mercystar and she dipped her head to her leader. Good, he made it.. Then more of have made it. She started to notice more and more cats moving.

    mercystar
Mercystar gave up his search for any living cats as he had began to realize the small pack forming outside what used to be home. He slowly let out a soft sigh- that of releif and sadness- and began to walk across the ashen, uneven terrain. He smelled the air, and let out a few gentle coughs. The air was thick with soot, making it appear cloudy. When he was in range of the others he sighed again and parted his maw. "Is anyone hurt?" He bellowed as he scanned each of the cats faces.

Stagpaw looked up to see his father in worry. The small band of cats were all huddled and black with ash, and they all appeared to be exhausted. This worried the young apprentice. "W-what will we do for food? Shelter? Oh what are we going to do..." He trailed off, walking away towards the sunset. The young tom was easily worked up, and was well known for overworrying even when it wasn't his job. He walked a few feet away and slumped himself against a heap of rock to worry.

  • Mistyclaw looked up at Mercystar, doubting she had ever felt more happy about seeing the leader. He will sure be able to think of something, she decided, standing up. More cats began to appear and every new figure filled her heart with relief. Maybe this won't be that bad?

    mercystar
He sighed as his son walked away in frustration and sat down gently on a not-too-dirty spot; if that was even possible. He looked around at the cats around him, gently smiling in relief. They had made it. That gave him hope, and hopefully it gave them all hope. "Everyone who can stand, gather around. We have some things we have to figure out." He instructed, taking on his confident tone. It was time to think of something... anything.

    [/fancypost]

  • Mistyclaw sat down where she ad stood, turning all her attention fully to Mercystar, her tail tucked neatly around her paws as she waited for their clanmates to gather around. There were more of them than she had dared to hope at the very first moment - actually it seemed like almost half of them, if not more, had survived.

  • Gingercloud pulled himself out of the rubble, and took a selfish gulp of air. He was relieved to find he only had minor injuries; scrapes, bumps, bruises. That didn't make them any less painful. He miserably trudged around, until he found his clan mates. "Crikey! I-I thought I'd uh, I'd never find you!" he exclaimed, joining his fellow clan mates. "Is everybody okay?"

As more and more of his clan had appeared, his body had begun to relax. The thought of losing any of his family had made his chest feel heavy and pained but now- it appeared all were going to appear sooner or later. He sighed softly and gave a nod to the cats that surrounded him. "I will make this speech again, if we are to gain any others who are lost at the moment..." He began, standing up he walked forward and perched himself on top a fallen pine. "We are on devastating times, my friends. We have lost our home, our loved ones. But I beg of you all not to lose hope." He scanned the crowd before taking a deep breath. "Which I have come to a decision, but it is a decision I cannot make myself. I need your help." He smiled to the family below him. "For I cannot choose to move somewhere else or stay here and rebuild." His smile dropped. He felt pained for asking their help, he was to lead them. But the fear of upsetting them by making the wrong decision clouded his mind. "I am asking for a vote I suppose." He commanded.

  • Mistyclaw was taken aback about unexpected announcement. But she had to agree that choice wasn't easy. However as she glanced around the wrecked camp, she made up her mind surprisingly fast.
"I think we should move elsewhere," the gray warrior spoke, more quiet than usually, almost shyly. "If no one has injured too much, to do such thing, of course," Mistyclaw added, remembering Ivorypaw.

  • [fancypost bgcolor= transparent; border: 1px black; color: black; letter-spacing: -1px; color: black;]

Mercy smiled at the warrior. "Thank you." He then looked at the other clanners. "Any others want to have their say?" He mused gently, still holding his small, gentle smile. The large tom stood glooming over the others, awaiting their responses.

  • "I-It'd only be necessary to move.." There was a tone of regret in his voice. "We should try to retrieve the prey we have left, if any." He was sitting now, with his tail coiled around his paws.

  • "The prey here will be scarce around here now," Mistyclaw pointed out, feeling it unnecessary to add, that no fresh-kill would have lasted after the eruption.
