  • Darnit.

Bentusio sighed and shook his head. "I'm afraid you must be ready, angel. Only after your coronation can we destroy the Templar and ensure you are truly safe."

  • That's okay. I was just watching DBZ Abridged and I need to scratch that Dragonball rp itch By the way, you should totally watch DBZ abridged. You will die laughing.

Wanna tiemmskip a day or so to when Nass finds a way out?

  • Ok XD
    And sure. :)

Yan had spent the past two days in her rooms. After breaking down into a screaming, crying mess during dinner, the same table she always sat at for dinner, except for the empty space beside her and the fact that Bentusio sat at the front, she had been kept within her rooms, the door effectively locked and guarded. The new castle staff looked horrified as they watched their future queen act such a way. How embarrassing for Bentusio and his plans.
Wearing a simple linen tunic and trousers, which she had grown to miss and ordered to have some made, the ice princess sat at the edge of her bed, gaze low.

  • Oh my goodness, that is an amazing picture. Id that Cain shielding her?

Bentusio kept Yan undeer lock and key after her little fit at dinner. For her own safety, of course. Venicia was with her almost all the time, normally just staring at her with an almost frightening devotion in her eyes. It was clear that Venicia would even fall on her own sword if that was what she thought Yan wished.

Nass wasn't allowed to be alone with the princess for days. Bentusio always had another person in the room with them to ensure that they weren't plotting together. Today, however, the thief had managed to hide in Yan's rooms unnoticed. As the servants left and closed the door, she emerged from the closet. "I've got a way out," she said as way of greeting.

  • It is. Also, when will Kain reappear?

Yan jumped, blinking in surprise. "Huh? Nass!" She hushed herself immediately afterwards, and she got to her feet hurriedly. "What's your plan?"

Hooves thundered into Dansel, firing past the horror and scum of the city and straight to the castle. This was it. The princess would not be leaving here unless in Vaughn's grasp. He brought more soldiers, too. More than double than his party last time. They were all elite. With whatever etiquette and dignity the Captain managed to muster, he slowed before the castles gates. He dismounted and made a low, sweeping bow to the guards. "Greetings, men. I am from the northern region of the Haiqi Empire. I believe I have received word to travel here on behalf of the fallen king."

  • After they escape. He's hiding with a small resistance movement in the city.

Nass glanced at the door, then leaned in to whisper to Yan. "We go out the window, there's plenty of good footholds leading down to the balcony below us. This side of the castle is facing away from the main gate, so we shouldn't be spotted. Then from that balcony, we enter the room. I found a hidden door that leads to a servant's passage. That should let us get down to the ground floor and the kitchens undetected. Then we slip out the back door."

The guards were all swagger, clearly reveling in the power and pride of their new positions. "The Haigi Empire, eh?" the leader among them said, looking down his nose at Vaughn arrogantly. "And tell me, sir Imperial, was it necessary to have so many guards accompany you here? The road is not that dangerous. Unless you hope to make up for in numbers what you lack in skill." His subordinates laughed. "In any case, you are not wanted here. Regent Bentusio gave us strict orders to expel any foreign dignitaries." He eased his sword a little from its scabbard. "Now scurry back to your ruler and tell him that Dansel is off limits."

  • Vaughn buried his anger beneath a mask of stoic importance. With his gaze never leaving the guards, he pulled out a small roll of paper. He untied it and presented it to them. "I recieved this letter from King Haiqi after his death. I do believe this goes beyond Bentusio's orders. I at least have the right to enter the castle, my men can wait here if they cannot."

Yan looked at Nass uncertainly, but at this point, she was willing to do anything to get out of this. "Okay." She said slowly. "I suppose it's best to leave before Venicia gets here."

  • The man didn't even look at the paper. "No one enters," he repeated, drawing his sword now. Behind him, the other guards did the same. It was clear that they were willing to provoke war between the two countries if it meant preventing Vaughn from getting into the palace. "Leave, foreigner, or die."

Nass nodded and hurried over to the window, throwing it open. "C'mon," she said quietly, clambering out to hang on the sill. "I'll go first, so I can catch you if you fall." And with that, she dropped out of sight.

  • Vaughn only blinked, but rolled up the paper and tucked it away. "As you wish." He said, and his men all seemed to look at him in surprise. "Let's go!" He barked suddenly, harshly, and they all quickly mounted their horses. They were out of the city in minutes.

Yan watched in fear, but followed soon afterwards. Her hands trembled as she gripped the protruding brickwork, her toes sliding across the wall to find purchase as she slowly made her way down. It was terrifying.

  • Below Yan, Nass let go of her handholds and landed lightly on the balcony. "Easy does it, princess," she called up softly to Yan. "I'm right here. Just take it slow, you'll be fine." She took a step back and watched as Yan made her way down the castle wall, ready to catch her if she fell.

  • Yan soon followed, landing next to Nass as she trembled slightly, looking up at the windows to her room. Yet, she was will to descend so much further to get away from it. "Let's just keep going." The ice princess said with a weak smile, nodding.

  • Nass smiled back and took Yan's hand. "C'mon, I know the route from here." She led Yan into the room the balcony was attached to and over to a large bookshelf. "Watch this, it's pretty cool." She reached out and pressed her hand flat against what looked like a bare patch of wall. With a shove, she swung it open, revealing a cramped and dark servant's passage. "Now hurry." As she ushered Yan inside, Nass heard Venicia scream in horror from above. Their escape was discovered.

  • Yan followed Nass in silence, eyes wide as she glanced behind them way too often. She wasn't even aware of the passageway when Nass opened, but didn't question, too fearful to ponder. And when she heard the scream from above, something within her kicked into gear, and as the passage shut, she came to a fast jog.

Vaughn, now alone and cloaked in dark, climbed up the stone wall. He had seen the princess in that large window way too many times to know it was her rooms. She must be there.
Just a few deet away from the window, a shriek came from just behind the glass, and she flattened himself against the wall, fearing he was spotted. But there was silence afterwards. Something was amiss.

  • "Angel? My angel, where are you?" Venicia called in desperation. She searched the room frantically, throwing open the closet, flipping the bed on its side with unnatural strength, even checking behind the curtains. When she found nothing, the masked guardian ran to the window and stuck her head out, searching desperately for a clue as to where her beloved angel might have gone. Suddenly, her green eyes settled on Vaughn, attempting to hide beside the window. "Kidnapper," she hissed hatefully. "Where is the angel? If you have harmed her, I will eviscerate you!"

  • Vaughn nearly lost his hold on the brickwork, and he looked up at the woman with steel blue eyes. The princess wasn't here. Damn it all. And he didn't really have much to say to this woman, to get out of this. "Ma'am..." He was at a loss of words, his educated voice a hushed stutter. "I do not have your princess."

It grew incredibke dark as they ventured into the retired parts of the passage. Yan left a hand on the wall to help guide herself, the stone damp and slimy.

  • "Liar!" The Venicia did something completely insane. She climbed out of the window and began to make her way along the wall towards Vaughn, clearly intend on killing the man.

"C'mon, Yan, we're almost free," Nass said encouragingly. They took a cramped staircase down to the ground floor, and the thief pushed open another secret entrance to reveal the kitchen. Thankfully, as it was just past lunch, the place was deserted.

  • I almost find Vaughn's situation humorous. XD

Vaughn instantly tried to climb down, away from the crazy woman. "Ma'am! I've not taken your princess!"

Yan hurried through the room, still clinging to Nass' hand.

    Sorry for the short post.
