ICC: Julius' gun fell from his hand and the man fell like a stone at the hit. The noise resonated quite loudly, and echoed down the cave.

IC: Polaris thought about taking the guy's gun--nah, even if he hid it, it wouldn't help. So he just shrugged and continued down the corridor he figured he was supposed to have been led down. Might as well resign in person, you know?

ICC: The curve curved to the left, and a light started becoming visible, a din of voices becoming louder. Soon there would be an opening looking upon a cove inside of a gigantic cave. A few tents sat towards the back, there was a firing range behind there, it wasn't being used currently. Where everyone was seemed to be a makeshift tavern of sorts, a few roamed the tents, Captain Andrew drifted between these groups and those taking watch. She seemed to be a very interactive captain, she had changed, too. She now wore a doublet, and a pair of somewhat tight breeches, with a pair of old but well kept boots.

IC: Secret hideout, Polaris concluded, peeking beyond the hall. They all seemed occupied. Perhaps he could cut his bonds and escape? It might be his best chance, and if they hurt or killed him for it, well, they probably would have in the future, anyway. It certainly beat that d*mn cell. Hoping that Julius was still out, Polaris crept quietly back down the passageway.

    OCC:

ICC: Julius still lay on the floor, out of it.
Andrew noticed movement at the opening, having been expecting to see Julius bringing Polaris like she had asked by now. Did she have to go watch Julius like a kid again?

IC: Polaris quickly searched around for a spire of rock or something to tug his binds off with. He'd been toying with them ever since they got to the sea cave, and thought that if he could snag them on something, he might be able to get the rope off. He soon found an outcropping of rock that seemed like it would work. He slipped the rope over the rock, pulled with his weight...and stumbled forward a few steps as the rope slipped off. It was all Polaris could do to keep from laughing out loud. That had actually worked! He didn't waste time celebrating, though, and quickly took Julius' gun and sword belt before hurrying off down another corridor.

    OCC:

ICC: The corridor was lit, not very well, but certainly a change from the cells. It would lead to a cliff wall, the opening itself blocked by foliage, and would lead straight into a jungle.
Eventually, without making herself look suspicious, Andrew headed back towards the cells. She cursed silently when she found the unconscious Julius. Good for nothing piece of---- Andrew took a deep breath, she didn't need to loose her head.

IC: Polaris paused once he was past the entranceway, mental-mapping. If his memory served right, the docks would be...this way. He hurried through the foliage, slicing plants out of his way with the sword as he went.

    OCC:

ICC: Andrew glanced around, taking out one of her guns that she kept on hand, which path would he take? There were only two corridors from here, so she summarized a fifty/fifty chance. With a sigh, she took the passage towards the entrance.
Behind Polaris spanned the cliff wall, in front of him, the jungle was laid out. There wasn't any definite path out.

IC: To stay straight, Polaris tried to put one foot right in front of the other as he navigated the jungle. He thought he was making decent progress, though he knew he should be going faster if he wanted to avoid being caught up to. When he thought he could hear the ocean ahead, he broke into a run, using what he thought was the sound of the waves to guide him. Unfortunately, he forgot to watch his feet, and didn't notice the snake until it bit him.

    OCC:

ICC: Andrew exited the cave and sighed at seeing the slashed plants. Her eyes scanned the jungle before a piece of it caught her attention. Careful not to step on the trail herself, she noticed it started the trail of broken foliage. Polaris was making this too easy. With the expertise of someone on their home turf, she crossed the jungle silently, following the trail.

  • OOC:

IC: The sudden lightning bolt of pain in his leg made Polaris stumble and fall, sending him rolling down a hill. On the way down, he must have hit his head, because by the time he stopped on the edge of the beach, he was unconscious.

  • Quote of the Month: "Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside of us while we live." -Norman Cousins

    OCC:

ICC: As Andrew came upon the spot Polaris had been bitten at, he avoided it with a curse of annoyance. Seemed as if Polaris didn't know a snake nest when he saw one. She didn't want to get bit, and took precious time circling the nest. Coming upon the other side confirmed her suspicions. The pirate ran down the hill, catching a tree towards the bottom to slow her descent and come to a stop on the beach.
Andrew almost wished that she had left him back at the village. This man was quickly becoming a pain in her *ss. A sigh and fixing her hat later, she kneeled by Polaris' side to examine his injuries. The bite on the ankle would have to get treated immediately, anything else on the roll down?

ICC: Andrew frowned at that sight, but didn't delay any longer. She scooped him up easily and ran back to the boat instead of the hideout. The cage on board was just a tad cleaner for one, two, she had to avoid everyone for now, three, the surgeon usually stayed on board.
A few hours later, they had managed to keep Polaris alive, although it had been a challenge. Knowing the only kind of venomous snake on the island were pit vipers helped with identification of symptoms, many a man before had gotten bit. They couldn't do much until Polaris woke up though, needing to know what symptoms he exhibited. For now, his ankle bite was wrapped up, his head had been cleaned (and Andrew told to be careful around it for now), and there were other things around just in case Polaris woke up and exhibited any known symptoms.
Andrew sat next to Polaris, the cell door open and Levi outside just in case.

  • OOC: I kinda wanna RP Rotg x httyd now

IC: It was several hours after trying to escape that Polaris started to float back to consciousness. Even half-awake, the pain in his leg registered right away, though he didn't think to do anything about it for another few minutes. When he was more awake he grunted at the pain and fluttered his eyes open, instinctually trying to look and see what the problem was. He vaguely noticed that his airways seemed to have swelled, as it was harder to breathe, and each breath was slow and deep with constriction.

OCC: That sounds like an interesting combo.

ICC: Andrew put a surprisingly gentle but firm hand on Polaris' shoulder to keep him lying down.
"Good evening, petal. And how are we feeling?" She kept an even tone for now.

ICC: "Listen, I need you to tell me what's wrong, so we can try to help. I doubt you want to die like this." Andrew kept calm, use to coarse mouths around here.

  • OOC: I liked it, but it was even better when I could actually hear it XD I first watched it at a drive in

IC: "Like what, at the hands of pirates? Gee, where'd you get that idea?" Polaris snapped, slowly getting his awareness back. His heart was hammering...
