  • Matthew smiled sadly at his cousin. Yes, he was sure no one had called him that since he was still a pup... still a werewolf. Matthew sighed.

"I know Mel will likely ask you this too, so you don't have to answer right now." he told his cousin softly. "But... what happened to you, Tay? Where'd you disappear to? And how did you... become a hybrid?"

    He then turned to Anna.

"What is it, Anna?" he asked, having a good idea what it was all about.

Seattle chuckled as well, then nodded.

"I think we're both staving for daddy's cooking." she said.

Aria nodded at her young pup, noticing the look on his young face but not saying anything for the moment. She smiled and gently ruffle Silas' hair as she stood.

"Alright, I'll speak to the elders tomorrow." she told him. "For now, it's bed time for you and Jason."

Angie was awoken by an angry shout form her father, followed by a resounding smack as he slapped her mother. She frowned sadly. She hated it when he was like this... normally he would never harm his mate or daughter. But that always changed when he'd had too much to drink.

Mitchel smiled ad nodded at Tobias.

"Come on, Kali.." he said softly. "We need to get to the ceremony."

  • Thayer looked at Matthew with sad eyes and said, "I was taken by Craven and he turned me into a hybrid."

Anna took a deep breath and asked, "When the ceremony is over could you turn me?"

Alec chuckled again and handed her a plate of food. "Here you go love." He said with a smile.

Silas nodded and said, "Thanks and okay mama." He then hurried up ahead and opened the door for her.

Theo went to his room and flopped down on to his bed.

Tobias smiled at Kali and said, "You're welcome princess."

  • Matthew growled at h cousin's words, anger shining in his eyes as he remembered a vision he had had of a vampire biting Thayer when he was a pup but he had thought it was a nightmare, since he hadn't knon that was his gift.

"I'm sorry Tay." he said softly. "When the Green Hills were attacked... I was all about keeping Andrew safe... I should have made sure you were following us... I should have made sure... my vision didn't come true..."

He then turned to Anna, his chocolate brown eyes dark and serious. He nodded.

"I had the feeling you were going to ask that." he sad softly. "And, yes, Anna... when the ceremony s over... I will turn you."

Seattle beamed a her mate as he handed her a plate of food.

"Thank you love." she said as her stomach gurgled again. "Alright, alright... I'm eating!"

Aria smiled as Silas thanked her, then hurried up and opened the door for her.

"Thank you, Silas." she told him. "Which story should I tell you tonight?"

Angela finally fell asleep with her last thoughts to Theo.

Mitchel smiled at his daughter and Tobias, then stood.

"Well, let's get going." he told them.

  • Thayer shook his head and said, "Don't beat yourself up about it. I really hate to say it, but my mother was Craven's sister. My mother wanted nothing to do with him. She loved my father and the green hills pack. She never thought that Craven would kill the pack because she joined them. I guess he thought she betrayed him."

Anna looked up at him and said, "If it bothers you to do it, I could ask one of the alphas." She didn't want him to feel uneasy about doing it.

Alec grinned and chuckled. He then picked up his plate and ate his food.

Silas smiled at his mother and asked, "Can you tell me about my aunt and her family?" He had heard it about a hundred times, but he still found it sad and interesting.

Theo drifted off into a restless sleep.

Tobias chuckled and shifted into his wolf form.

  • Matthew growled lowly.

"Damn this bastard..." he snarled softly. "He kills off the Shadow Paws because of Blair chose Tate... and he kills our clan because of his sister...? Does this a-hole not have a life that he must mess with the lives of others?!!"

He then bit back more of his bitter words and sighed.

"Sorry Thayer... I know he's your uncle..." he turned to Anna and smiled. "Don't worry about me, Annabella... worry about yourself. I've heard from Lena it hurts like hell. Besides..."

He grinned and tapped the side of his head.

    "I've seen this coming..."

Seattle grinned as she took a mouthful of food.

"This is delicious, love!" she said after she swallowed with a smile. "I love your cooking!"

Aria chuckled lightly, then nodded as she tucked Jason in his cot.

"Get ready for bed..." she told Silas. "Then I'll tell you about the Shadows."

Angela was lost in pleasant dreams.

Mitchel shifted as well, then waited for Kali to lead the way.

  • "He may be blood related, but he's no family of mine. So no need to apologize." Thayer said.

Anna chuckled and said, "Right I forgot about your gift."

"Thanks and I love your cooking to sweetheart." Alec said before he took another bite.

Silas got ready for bed as fast as he could. He then hurried over to his bed and climbed in.

Theo shifted around restlessly. He couldn't what for Angela to be his mate. He felt empty without her next to him.

  • Matthew grinned sadly at his cousin. Craven had to be stopped. He had ruined so many lives. Too many. And all of them Matthew cared about. His expression darkened as he thought of the vampire.

"I truly hope your uncle is dumb enough to cross my path, cousin." he said. "I'll rip Craven apart myself!"

He then turned to Anna and chuckled.

"Yes, well... I sometimes wish I could forget about it as well." he teased her. "That or learn to control the damned thing..."

    Seattle smiled lovingly at Alec.

"Thanks love." she said, a light blush dusting her cheeks and a happy glow in her heart.

She then took another bite of his food, her expression turned thoughtful as she chewed.

"I'm going to go to Lucifer for some Litmos grass after we've eaten." she told Alec with a smile. "That's the only thing I can think of which can confirm what we suspect."

Aria chuckled softly at the haste with which Silas got ready for bed as she tucked Jason in his crib, then gently tucked Silas in bed as she sat beside him and told him ever thing she had heard from Axel about his family and heritage (which was everything which excluded Annabella, except as snide comments and remarks) and the other 3 of the 4 Great clans, as well as what she had heard from passing wanderers over the years. She wanted her sons to be proud of who they were and she wanted them to grow to be true, kindhearted and fine young males. And if they someday wanted to return to their father's family, she would be more than happy to let them go.

Gregory easily caught Ebony and gently wrapped his arms around her, gently kissing her. He pulled back and gazed down at the beautiful she-wolf in front of him.

"Whatever I did to deserve you... I thank Lupus for it every day." he told her quietly as he kissed her again.

  • Thayer frowned and said, "Be careful what you wish for, Cuz. We don't really know the extent of what he did to Anna when he had her. If it wasn't for Corinne, Cian's daughter we might not have gotten Anna back."

Anna chuckled at what Matthew said and then frowned at Thayer. "I wish I could remember." She murmured.

Alec nodded and said, "I'll go with you. Eliza's on the warpath. I stripped her of her beta title. For now it rest on Nuka's shoulders until our pup comes of age."

As his mother talked about the great clans he drifted off.

Ebony smiled up at him and said, "As do I, my love." She then frowned sadly and added, "Gregory, I know you don't want to hear it, but it's time. You and your family have to make amends with Alec and Sea. Just as I have to make amends with my father and sister."

  • Matthew sighed and nodded.

"I know..." he said in a dark voice. "If the sick bastard can send young pups to a slave camp... then there's no saying what he did to Anna... ad whatever it is... I'm sure it'll be a doozy when we find out..."

    He gently hugged Anna.

"Don't you worry about it, Annabella." he told her softly. "I'm sure you'll get your memories back soon..."

    He then turned to Thayer.

"Corinne Hale saved Anna?" he asked, then smiled. "I wonder how it's going with the old, cantankerous Irishman."

He was lost in memories as he thought of Cian Hale, Corinne's father.

Seattle sighed. She didn't want to be a millstone around Alec's neck about this. And she often walked around camp on her own. But Alec was right. Eliza was a dangerous adversary. She had already cost them their daughter. She wasn't going to let the sad excuse for a wolf take this pup as well. She smiled and nodded.

"Alright, love." she said. "It might be best. And Nuka was a good choice for Beta. He has ever been your right hand man around camp..."

Aria smiled as Silas fell asleep, leaving a small nightlight on for her pups, she gently kissed hem both on the head without waking them, then left the door ajar as she walked to her own room next to theirs.

Gregory sighed, then nodded and kissed Ebony's head.

"You're right, love." he told her. "But first, I have to make amends with Talk... and so far, that's not going so well..."

Angela woke and sat up as a bottle smashed. Her father was now sobbing. She lay back down and sighed. If Mac was crying, the drinking spell was almost over. After crying, he would fall into a drunken stupor on the couch and sleep for a couple of hours, then wake with a splitting headache and just enough memory of what had happened to feel ashamed of himself. Even though it wasn't right or healthy, Angela and her mother let him repeat these cycles because they didn't know what else to do. And, even though he had a headache for a few hours the next day, Mac never let these episodes interfere with his duties as a warrior, so no one complained too loudly when he had one. After all, everyone dealt with death in their own way... and Deacon's death had hit Mac hard. As she lay on her pillow, she thought of Theo. With a small smile, she thought of how he wanted to get into her father's good books. She just hoped it worked.

    Mitchel followed after Kali carefully.

  • Thayer looked at Matthew and said, "Cian was the one to appoint her as Anna's guardian was she was a pup. He may not like werewolves, but he does care about you guys."

Anna hugged Matthew back and said, "I know they'll come back."

"I know that you're not glass, darling. I just don't want to lose you or another pup." Alec said as he looked at her. "Oh and we have a meeting tomorrow." He added with a secretive smile.

"Well at least we had gotten the worst of it out of the way. Plus I need to make amends with him too." Ebony said as she looked up at him.

Theo lay awake and hoped that his plan worked tomorrow.

  • Matthew chuckled as Thayer said Cian may not like weres but like the Greens and Shadows.

"I think you mean us, cuz, because, regardless of you being a hybrid you were born a werewolf and will always be one." he said, then nodded. "Yeah.. Cian seems to think he owes our families a never ending life-debt..."

Matthew smiled at Anna and hugged her back, noticing they were nearing the Red Sands borders.

"You two need to keep close now..." he said softly.

    Seattle chuckled.

"Are you sure you don't read minds, my love?" she teased him. "Or was I jus too obvious?"

She then frowned slightly as Alec said they had a meeting the following day. She had heard nothing of this... and Alec's secretive smile meant that this was something he had orchestrated.

"A meeting?" she asked, knowing he wouldn't tell her if he was planning on keeping it a surprise, although she asked anyway. "A meeting with whom?"

    Gregory sighed and nodded.

"Well, c-can we do it when we get home tomorrow?" he asked softly.

He didn't really want to return to the oppressive atmosphere in the cave. He then stiffened as he smelt a scent he wanted nowhere near Ebony- vampires. He growled low in his chest, eyes scanning the surrounding bush to see if he could figure out where the leeches were.

Angela couldn't fall asleep again, even though there was now silence in the den. She thought about Theo and smiled slightly.

  • Thayer chuckled and then added, "Yes, well that'll be short lived once he finds out I'm courting Corinne." He then stepped closer to Anna.

Anna looked up at Matthew and said, "I wouldn't dream of leaving your side." She was so close to him that she could feel his natural heat rolling off of him.

Alec shook his head and said, "Neither love, I just know that you like to be independent sometimes. I don't want to take that away, but.....I-I can't lose you." He then smiled slightly and said, "You will have to wait and see."

Ebony sensed the vampire too and looked up at her mate sadly. "I'm sorry love, but we can't be by ourselves tonight. We need to be with the others." She whispered almost silently. Craven's men were actively seeking Anna and she and Greg had no chance against them alone.

Theo rolled on to his side and groaned. It was going to be a long night.

  • Matthew huffed a laugh at Thayer's words.

"Yes, I can imagine you won't be a favourite with him or a while." he teased.

Cian was well known to be fiercely over protective of his three daughters and, for a reason Matthew could not fathom, his son Donncha. Matthew smiled at Anna as they crossed the border.

"Good." he breathed softly. "Because things are about to get a little... hairy."

Heads up, Tay. he told his cousin, his eyes going glassy. You'll be attacked from the left. Dodge and cover Anna in 3...2...1...

Just as he said 1 a tan wolf leapt at Thayer from the left and Matthew shifted and stood in front of his cousin, easily knocking the other wolf aside. He growled as he heard 3 more wolves stalk towards them.

Great... Just f*cking perfect. Matthew snarled so only Thayer and Anna could hear, then addressed the other wolves. What do you lot want!?

Seattle frowned, then placed her hand on Alec's and gently squeezed t.

"It's okay, love... I understand." she smiled sadly at him.

She new Eliza would stop at nothing to finish what she had started and Seattle was not safe in the camp on her own anymore. As Alec told her she had to wait and see, she pouted playfully, knowing it would make him laugh.

"Aaaaw..." she griped teasingly, then smiled. "Alright love."

She turned hr head as she heard hurried feet coming towards their den, followed by a loud banging.

Gregory nodded almost imperceptibly to show he had hear Ebony.

I'll get out first. he told his mate. I'll bark twice if the coast is clear. Then you shift and make for the cave. If anything happens, Ebby, don't stop. I'll be fine... but if they're this close to us... I'm worried about mom, dad and Talk. You need to get to them as soon as you can... they may be in trouble!
