    Steelmask looked down at the other griffin, his blue eyes like small flames. His armor glistened under the light, his talons flexing.

    Swiftshadows sprang into the air, steadily climbing.


    Steelmask ascended quickly, following him. This was his way off studying his prey.


    Havoro was laying, sprawled out on the forest floor. His back and hips were locked and he couldn't move.

    Avilence stretched his wings. "Havoro says they're due any day."


    Steelmask's steel talons lashed out, nicking the other griffin's ear.


    Swiftshadows scanned the forest floor. "I can't pick up his scent."

    "I can't pick it up either," Duskwings said worriedly, and banked to the left. "Let's check where we were gathering herbs."


    Zephyrus yelped, then snarled, lashing back with his own talons.

    "You look like you're about to explode," Avilence commented. "What is it?"


    Swiftshadows' ears twitched nervously. "Do you think he's hurt?"


    Steelmask felt the talons nick his wings, but it wasn't enough to ground him. He lashed out, delivering a nasty blow to the griffin's face.

    "I hope not," Duskwings said, flicking her tail.


    Zephyrus shrieked, and climbed higher, lashing at the other griffin with his hind paws. Normally, he would have stayed lower, but this one had different claws then he was used to."

    Swiftshadows landed. "Havoro!"


    Steelmask ascended with the other griffin, almost dancing with him. He flexed his blood stained steel battle claws. His helmet gleamed brightly as they burst out of the tree tops.

    Duskwing landed next to her, and started forwards.


    Zephyrus snarled, blinking away blood in his eyes and turned to run for home.

    Swiftshadows head shot up as a wail pierced the air. "I know that wail! That Havoro!"


    Steelmask was simply playing with the griffin now. He curled in his wings, spiraling above him. He flared his gray wings directly above the male, nicking his back.

    "Come on!" Duskwings said, starting towards the wail at a run.


    Zephyrus shrieked again, whirling to attack his attacker.

    Swiftshadows run was more of a waddle, being careful not to harm her unborn cubs.


    Havoro was sprawled out, his wings broken, his body covered in dried and fresh blood.


    Steelmask hissed as his prey's talons managed to catch beneath his eye. He blinked the blood out of his eye and became angry. Fully extending his battle claws, he raked them down the griffin's left hind leg.

    Duskwings nuzzled the healer gently, wondered what had done that.


    Zephyrus shrieked again, kicking out at the griffin, wanting nothing more than to go home.

    Havoro trembled at her nuzzle. "Please...n...no more...." he sputtered. Long gouges lined his back and neck, some still spilling blood.


    Swiftshadows flew quickly over to the river, wetting some moss, then flying back over to him. She began to clean of the dried blood.


    With a quick flick of his talons, he gouged the griffin's wings before flaring his wings to slow down.

    "What happened?" Duskwings asked, examining his gouges.


    Zephyrus shrieked with pain, and lashed out, before lowering himself towards the ground.
