  • OOC: so the plot here is mainly going to revolve around my character for the sake of anyone who is new joining. It shouldn't be too terribly hard to follow, so join my lead :3

IC: Azael, an orange colored tabby cat, rushed back and forth in impatience in the sands of the desert right where the forest and desert seemed to collide. "How stupid..." he muttered. "The dream said it'd be right here...but I see no one." He plopped down in annoyance, anger flushing from his eyes and boredom finally setting in as his tail wraps around one leg.

  • A large calico Tom by the name of Brush padded up. He was curious to see what this strange cat was up to. From all he could tell this cat was sitting there in the hot sand doing absolutely nothing. "Might I ask what you're doing?" Brushed said calmly, "Because it seems to me you are waiting for someone."

  • The tom turned irritably before jumping up in surprise. "Y-your fur..." Azael inspected Brush thoroughly, moving around the tom to inspect every detail about him. "Your just like they said...They were right!" Azael shouted, but not directly to Brush as it was to himself; in disbelief. Azael turned back to Brush before clearing his throat. "I'm sorry, I'm not being direct. I was lead here by a couple of spirits a bit more than two nights ago. I know it sounds crazy...but I'm supposed to meet you. They told me you would look exactly like you do. And besides, I have a great goal to achieve!" While the tom was absolutely bonkers, his yet untold plans held a bit of interest as his voice sweetened when mentioning them. Azael turned towards the desert and gazed outwards with a firm, burning gaze. "Are there any more with you?" He asked, not breaking his gaze off into the sands.

Ooc: and here's where I introduce step one of advanced rp for anyone who is learning from this; keep your character's actions and mouth running for a while. They might seem like blabber mouths and hyperactivists, but it seems more realistic than just doing one action or just speaking. Think of it as time is really slow, and so you have a lot of moments to do what you want.

  • Brush was taken aback by the sudden brashness of this cat he had never met, he tried to take a step back but couldn't escape. 'What is this guy talking about? what spirits? Spirits don't come to regular crazies like him... A hot wind swept past brush and the sand swirled around his feet. He flicked his tail in annoyance at the sudden discomfort, "Goal? what goal? what are you even talking about!?" Brush was suddenly agigtated, he should never have confronted this. Then his gaze softened and he looked down, "Well there was someone but...." His voice trailed off, he didn't want to finish his sentence

OOC: I feel like that one jumped around too much?

  • Ooc: nah; spot on you are.

Ic: Azael grinned with intent; although it was hardly visible to Brush. "To revive the lost civilization in the sands, of course!" He turned back to Brush and then pointed a paw out to reveal what seemed like a pyramid. "I'm a descendant of those cats, hence my regal appearance," he flaunted. "And apparently, you are too. I'm sure the last one will catch up, that is if we leave tracks in the sand. Come on, we need to go fufill our bloodline!" The hasty tom wasted no time in stepping into the sandy dunes ahead, his orange fur glistening in the sunlight. It was true, although he was rather hasty and a tad rude, he definitely seemed to be a natural, moving through the sands like he did.

  • An exasperated sigh crossed over Brush, 'Whoever said I would help?' It seemed as though Brush had no choice in the matter, he was expected to tag along. He noticed the lithe way that Azael crossed over the sand, Brush wasn't that nimble. Often times his feet would drag through the sand. "What bloodline? As far as I'm concerned I was born in a barn with plenty of mice; not out in the middle of nowhere." Brush was slightly agitated as the sand impeded his movement, and what was with this guy and being so expectant?

  • Azael stopped as he realized that Brush wasn't as quite fast through the sand as he was. "Ah, you need to balance your weight between your other paws when you walk forwards," he said as he looked at Brush. "You won't sink in as fast." Azael didn't continue until Brush caught up with him, and then walked with as they continued. "I'm not really sure what bloodline we're a part of; other than that our descendants came from those pyramids. Apparently there's some sort of ancient magic there, holding a great civilization at pause. If we can release them, we'll be heroes, and end up as kings!" Azael's eyes flashed with ambition, hardly able to contain himself. "And I say we, because I'm...too rash to do it alone," he said, partially mumbling. "Which is why I need you. You seem very level headed, er...oh!" Azael hit himself on the head for a brief moment. " We have yet to exchange names! I'm Azael, great prince of the sands! Nice to meet cha!"

Ooc: step 2 of advanced rp to teach, you don't always start where your partner(s) left off. React to them and make it so things happen in between what they do. Just so long as it isn't typically drastic. A.k.a don't set off a spike trap in the middle of my character's conversation, do that on yours. Timing is key! :P

  • "Th-Thank you," Brush said panting as he noticed Azael was waiting up for him. He took the cat's advice on moving through the sands and he improved a little bit, he was no longer belly deep in sand. Brush's eyes sparked at the mention of becoming a king, he was suddenly all for helping out this cat. "So if I help you, you can gurantee I become a king?" He asked a thick layer of greed was woven into those words, "My name is Brush by the way."

  • Azael grinned. "Well, I can guarantee as much when I show you why. Come on, we're less than a day's worth of travel; if we hurry up, we can make it before sundown. I already saw the inside in my dream, and since you're here I know it'll be just like how I saw!" The young tom, barely older than a newly named apprentice, started to pick up the pace, his paws guiding him effortlessly upon the shifting sands of the desert. Strangely, it almost seemed as if the sands carved a path for him. And before long, the sands began to even help Brush, and it was no longer difficult for either of them to move.

  • "Hey, does it look like that thing is getting closer?" He asked with a slight curiosity in his eyes. He felt like he could run there in a matter of minutes, closing his eyes he resisted the urge to make a run. If it turns out his eyes were playing tricks on him, Brush wouldn't be able to make it if he pushed himself too hard.

  • Before Azael could respond, he felt himself smack against some hard, but natural. It was a tree, an oasis directly next to the pyramids, in fact, there was tons of water and plant lane, and a river beyond! "Ow!" He said, reeling back to sit in the sand with a paw on his head. "Well...I guess that answers our question. I knew there was magic here; look at all this water!" Azael jumped up on a low-lying platform that kept water in a sort of river around the pyramidic building. "This is super cool already; let's go inside!" Azael requested, bringing his lithe body with him to the open doorway.

  • Brush chuckled a bit at the sight of Azael running into a tree, however he was so caught laughing at Azael that he hadn't noticed that he walked belly deep into a clear pool of water. He jumped out of the water as fast as he could, he shivered slightly. "What is this place?" he asked, staring up at the large building. It was the largest building he'd ever seen, let alone been near. "Uhh yeah, sure we can go inside. Oh I just can't wait to be king!" His voice changed now, and his eyes grew glazed over with the thought of power.

  • Azael stood at the entrance for a brief moment to let Brush catch up with him. "You know, I feel its weird that you didn't get a dream like mine. Good thing fate brought us together, huh? I was honestly a bit afraid to come to alone, but with you here I feel like we could tackle the world!" As the pair went inside the sandstone bricks slowly turned into smooth marble, somewhat cool to the touch; a pleasant change to the heat of the outside! All around in the giant forum of marble floors and pillars were cats; statues of cats to be precise. Azael, curiously, approached a group of them. "Why are all these statues here?" He wondered. "You think these might be the cats we have to save?"

  • Brush looked around the place with awe, he had never seen anything like it. The nice cool temperature actually brought a chill to him, he had gotten used to the blazing heats outside. Brush was disheartened this young cat he was with had supposedly received a dream, but Brush got nothing. "Never in my life have I had a dream about you, or this place, or even the blasted desert." He was slightly annoyed by the fact in all honesty. After seeing examining the many statues of cats he joined Azael, "it could be....but I don't see anyone here."

  • Azael took another glance around, no longer concerned about the statues for now. "Well, there's the three entrances to other rooms and the two staircases over by that north entrance, given that we came from the south. Where should we look first? I feel like higher might be better," he explained, wanting Brush's input.

  • Brush flicked his tail in agreement, "Don't look at me! your the one with a regal demeanor. Also wasn't it you who had the dream? Your input is going to be much more accurate than mine. I just so happened to have been in the right place at the right time." He looked around the room again, "Who or what are these cats anyways?"

  • Azael was going to pipe up in retort, when he realized that Brush was right. "Well, I'm assuming whatever happened here turned these cats into stone. They lived here, as I think is safe to assume," Azael answered. "Well, I don't really know much about here; just about what happened here. Let's try to find the leader's home; maybe we can get answers there!" Azael clambered eagerly to the staircase on the left, climbing up the smooth stairs with ease.

OOC: After we revive this place, we could make a clan out of this :3

  • OOC: I'm game! but......you get it to make it if we go that route, I suck at creating threads.

Brush listened to his words carefully, a deep chill ran down his spine. these were.....living cats? The thought scared him, he didn't know why but he had a bad feeling about this. Whatever this place was, he was no longer excited for it. "You're telling me...these could be real cats?" he asked. He padded up the staircase just behind Azael. "Yeah that sounds good to me....the leader's home."

  • OOC: I've had a lot of experience with creating threads, so no worries :P

IC: "Yup!" Azael responded as Brush questioned the nature of the statues. "Like I said, they are here now because of some strange magic that keeps them frozen like that." Azael stopped as he reached the top of the stairs, and gaped in amazement as he witnessed a room adorned from top to bottom in gold. "This looks leader-y," he whispered in awe. He broke his trance and ran up to an empty throne made of a comfortable, shiny material. "Yeah, this is definitely it. Let's look around here, then!" Azael immediately began to charge off on his own around the room, poking at several structures that looked like pews and water basins.

  • Brush looked around the room 'leader-y' was an understatement. This room looked like it belonged to a king or even a being of higher power. Slowly the Tom padded towards the throne. "This....this is where I've always wanted to be." a devilish smiled spread across his face. He cared little to nothing for the rest of the room. "What were to happen if I hop up here?" The tom waited eagerly for Azalea's reply
