Shade looked around with wide eyes as she entered the camp with Briarpaw. So many cats... And that pile of food! She had never seen so much food at once before. When Briarpaw stopped before a den she sat down and curled her tail around her paws, leaning down to give herself a thorough washing before this important cat came to talk to them.
Shade... kit, hopefully? (Darkenedwind and leader/deputy plz)

Eveningsky bent over the freshkill pile, searching for something for himself and Rainlegs. Ever since his friend's return, the tortoiseshell's mood had brightened incredibly. He planned to grab something for himself and his friend, then go off in search of the chocolate-furred she-cat and share a meal together.
Just as the deputy was bending over a rather plump fish, a flash of movement caught his attention. Upon instinct and habit, Eveningsky looked up to see who was entering camp. He was surprised to see an unfamiliar cat wander in, looking slightly overwhelmed. Or was that fear he was seeing?
Eveningsky gave the fish at his paws a longing look, before turning away to approach Shade. "Hello!"
-
Brairpaw hurried in camp after the kit, smiling.
-
"Hi!" she mewed excitedly, eyes still flicking around the large space. After a short gaze at the nursery she began to speak again, "Um, I was with Briarpaw at the river and he told me about this place and I wanna live here too!"
While she spoke there was excitement in her voice, but it faded away when she noticed how long it took the tom to answer. Her one white ear turned awkwardly and she tried to speak in the most grown-up way she could, "I, um, don't have a family anymore. My mama left me in the woods and I don't know where she is. If its okay, could I please come in your... um, Clan and learn to be a war... Wer..." she looked to Briarpaw for the word.
-
"A warrior?"
A purr of amusement momentarily rumbled in the young tom's throat, but it soon faded away as the excitement in Shade's voice had. "Your mother's gone?" It brought back memories... memories the tortoiseshell didn't want to uncover. "Well, considering you're still a kit and you're all alone, I can't exactly turn you away." Eveningsky offered Shade a weak smile.
-
"So I can stay?" hope grew in Shade's chest.
-
Even Briarpaw's chest swelled at the thought of Shade joining. "I'm sure that's a yes." he purred at the kit.
-
He nodded as a warm grin spread wide across his maw. "Of course."
-
A loud purr grew from Shade's throat and she bounced happily. "Thank you! What happens first? Do I get to hunt more fish?"
-
"You're still young Shade," Briarpaw smiled. "You have to be 6 moons to be an apprentice." with her size, he forgot how old she was.
-
"I'm five moons," she muttered, "I have to wait a whole moon to do something fun?"
-
"The moon will pass before you know it." Briarpaw smiled. "Come on, I'll get you set up in the Nursery. My mentor's having kits, I'm sure his mate wouldn't mind too much if she watched over you for a moon, for practice. Thank you again Eveningsky."
-
"Yeah, thank you Eveningsky!" she squeaked happily, bouncing on her paws. "... That name is so long. Who gave it to him?" she asked, turning to Briarpaw.
-
"His mother and the leader who named him." he didn't know how to explain.
-
Eveningsky flicked his tail in farewell to the two cats. "Goodbye!" He called.
-
"Why not just his mama? Is his name really important or something?"
OOC: I mean about the whole naming ceremony thing with the kits and the paws and stuff.
-
"Bye~!" the tom called over his shoulder. "It's confusing. C'mon, lets get you to the Nursery."
