Stealthpaw sat next to the fresh kill pile, an untouched magpie at her paws. There were things that she wish she had done, things she wished would happen, and others she wished she hadn't done. However, she knew very well that skulking wouldn't do any good.

Yarrowpaw beamed, seeing her friend and ran over to Stealthpaw, her eyes bright and eager, her silver tabby pelt gleaming and she flicked her tail in excitment. "How are you? Have you been training lately? Did you say good-bye to Breezepaw? I never got a chance to, did she seem okay? Did you see her with Plasmapaw? It was weird... I got squished by my mentor!" She paused to breath, "Oh, hey." She added, not sure she had actually said hello. "Oh -have you seen Gnupaw's kit lately?" She couldn't help adding to her list of questions.
-
Stealthpaw giggled at her friends stream of questions. "Hey. Good. No. Kinda. Yep. Yea. Nice. Yep, yesterday." She said, answering all the questions in order. It sounded weird, but she got the point across. "And about Plasmapaw, I haven't seen him around lately." She said, almost looking around to see if he was there.
-
Yarrowpaw let out a giggle, trying to remember the order that she had asked the questions in. "Why haven't you been traing? Whose your mentor? What do you mean kinda? Like, really? She was fine? And Plasmapaw? What about him? Do you think... oh never mind... Well, I was jumping on Lonewolf and I got on her back but then she rolled over and squished me! I thought I was doing okay..." Again she paused to breath. "Really - you saw them yesterday? Were they cute? Was Gnupaw okay?"
-
Stealthpaw gently cuffed her friend on the ear. "Slow down. I don't think I have a mentor anymore, and that's why I haven't been training. She seemed a little edgy, as if she didn't want to leave but she also did at the same time. Plasmapaw has been sneaking away a lot lately, I saw him sneaking out at night once. Watch out for the role move, and try to jump away when you see it coming. Gnupaw is fine. Although young, she's a natural mother." She said, wondering if there were more questions. It was so fun having friends around.
-
Yarrowpaw twitched her ears as she absorbed the information, wondering how it was possible to keep up with so many topics at once. "Oh. What do you mean want to leave? Does she not like the clan? Sneaking out? Where do you think he's going? Somewhere secret!" Her eyes lit up and she licked her silver tabby fur with quick strokes. "I want to follow him and find out where he's going! Yeah, that wasn't fun, but that was my first time battle training so I think I did okay... I really should go see her, but I've been to busy socializing!" she joked, "Do you want to be a mentor when you're older? I think it would be fun!"
-
Stealthpaw licked a paw, trying to remember the comments and questions made. Putting her paw down, she sighed. "She wanted to go back to WindClan, I could see that, but she didn't want to leave something behind. I'm guessing it was Plasmapaw, but I'm not sure. I don't think I'll make such a great mentor since I don't even have a mentor myself." She said, trying to make sense of everything. Only a day ago, she had been thinking about Plasmapaw and Breezepaw, and had found no reason for their attitudes. Now that she said it all out loud, it made sense! Breezepaw and Plasmapaw were in love, and Plasmapaw was going out to see her!
-
Yarrowpaw gasped, the pieces clicking together in her head around the same time that it came around for Stealthpaw. "Wait... go back -- could... could they... that;s way weird!" She squealed, her eyes lighting up and she jumped a few inches into the air. "No way!!!!!!!!!!" She settled herself back down, glancing around to see if any other warriors were going to yell at her for disturbing them, they had probably attracted some curious glances. Yarrowpaw lowered her voice to a whisper, "We have to help out! They're our friends after all -- right?"
-
Stealthpaw nodded, but she knew how Breezepaw felt. "But I what can we do?" She asked, also in a whisper. Although she wouldn't tear them apart, she couldn't let them get caught like this. If it came to it, one of them would have to change clans, or the warrior code would have to be changed, or...
-
Yarrowpaw sighed and shook her head hopelessly. "I don't know..." she mewed. And the words scared her. She hatted, hatted not knowing what to do. Helpless. hopeless, without a good though. Everything was daunting. She closed her eye and hit her head on the ground repeatedly. Maybe jumbling up her brain would help her think of some solution.
-
Stealthpaw patted Yarrowpaw with her tail. "It's okay. I don't know what to do either. But maybe we should talk to Plasmapaw, tell him we know and that he should be careful." She said, hoping her friend would stop hitting her head.
-
Yarrowpaw looked up. Now that she had stopped crashing her head against the ground it started hurting. "Oh, um... yeah -- let's do that!" She mewed quickly, "After all if we've figured it out... who knows how long it will take cats who would tell right away!"
-
Stealthpaw agreed. "We could catch him at night, when there are less cats. We have no idea what might happen if certain cats found out about this." She said in a low voice, glancing around to make sure no one was in the vicinity.
-
Yarrowpaw nodded, knowing that this knowledge bound Stealthpaw and her into a sworn sercercy to protect their friend's secret love. Yarrowpaw could still hardly believe it. She lowered her voice to match Stealthpaw's, "Yeah. At night. When? Tonight?" She asked, her eyes shining.
-
Stealthpaw nodded. "I saw him leaving earlier today, so he should be back by then. I'll meet you at dusk outside of the apprentices den." She whispered, hoping they could catch him alone. The worst thing that could happen, was either they were caught, or they were wrong.
-
Yarrowpaw nodded, determination running through her, "Great." She mewed, though all was not great. If anyone discovered... and then why they were close to Breezepaw in the first place... Well Yarrowpaw didn't want elder duty for another moon. "SO," she mewed more causually, "You seemed kind of down when I first came up. Anything bugging you?"
-
Stealthpaw shook her head. "Oh, it was nothing. Just thinking of things I want to do or should have done." She said, raising her voice to the normal voice level. After so much whispering, it almost startled her, but she remained how she was.
-
Yarrowpaw laughed, "What do you mean things you should have done?" She nuzzled her friend gently, "You're a great cat, even with a few mistakes, after all if everyone needed to be perfect there wouldn't be any cats left!"
-
Stealthpaw giggled at that. "Yea... I was also considering some things that I could have done on those days I just stayed in camp. 'I should have climbed that tree, but I could have fallen out' kind of things." She said, a smile on her face.
-
"Don't blame yourself or be rude to yourself!" Yarrowpaw exclaimed, "You'll go crazy. Then you'll be thinking -- I should attack this fox all by myself cause it's good for the clan -- and the only bad thing you'd find would be -- I might get a scratch. So you go ahead and do it - Well that's just mousebrained! you can't do that!"
