//ARRIVING HERE FROM THIS THREAD: http://feralfront.com/index.php?topic=2138439.0 List of injuries; medium-sized scratch on left shoulder(from the attack)and headache(from using powers to locate this place). I hope I'm doing this right.

The Elder had limped here, possibly followed by the people who had been on the attack thread. With a hefty frown, he sat down outside what he assumed to be where one of the Medicine Cats lived. He could only assume based on the vibrations in the ground and what little of his super senses could tell him- which wasn't much, because it was horrifically painful for him to use any sort of power, so he tended to only use it for a few seconds at a time. Flicking his tail, he raised his head and tried to look as if he wasn't in pain, though the fact his shoulder was coated in his own blood didn't exactly help.

  • It was pure coincidence he happened to be passing by when he smelt the blood, but a stroke of luck for a Fadedhistory in that, while he was not a healer of this clan, he had an extensive history of healing in his life and was perfectly capable of assisting until one of them arrived.
Brassgoggles moved forward with intent, green eyes narrowed in concern at the ancient tom who bleed so lividly on the ground before him.
The shoulder wound didn't seem too severe but he noted the excess blood and quickly deduced it may have been a nicked artery which, for someone of the males age, was not a good idea to let wait.
Without even thinking whether he was crossing the line or not the tabby swiftly stepped into the den behind the other and went to the stores of herbs and other ailments before turning to him with a mouthful of brightly colored leaves and pale yellow flowers which he began to chew.
Through the pulp of plants he mashed he spoke, "I'm not one of the medics, but I know what to do if you don't mind letting me. That shoulder needs to be patched up quickly." When someone got her he'd pass it off to them and go about his business, but while he saw it he wouldn't just sit by and watch the elder bleed.
Spatting the mess into his paw he folded it about a wad of cobwebs and a thick dock leaf to hold it in place and made a makeshift poultice with the ease and precision of one who had done such a thing for some time.
Lifting he up he'd attempted to place it on Fadedhistory's shoulder should he be allowed to.
"I'm Brassgoggles, by the way. Just Brass is fine. What else hurts?"

Who knew when the Medics were going to show up? She had followed the elder to the Medics' Den and had went to sit off on the side as Brassgoggles began tending to him. "I wasn't aware that you had such experience with medicine, Brassgoggles," she spoke up lightly, her bright red eyes trailing after his skilled movements. It was clear that Brassgoggles must have been a Medic at some point in his life for he appeared to be more skilled than most Medics were themselves.

Feeling the movements in the ground, he flicked his ears in Brassgoggles' general direction before hearing him speak up. He assumed this was a new member due to the fact he had never sensed this being before. With a neutral look in his unblinking scarred gaze, he turned his head to stare past Brassgoggles, but still in their general direction. "I don't even know who the healers are in the first place." He merely stated, pausing before adding on something else. "I'm still kinda new, though. That's most likely why I don't know many beings." Fadedhistory wasn't about to lash out on someone trying to help him, so when Brass tried to put the poultice on his shoulder he did nothing to reject it. "My head- but that's quite normal." He answered honestly, still staring at Brassgoggles, flicking a single ear to acknowledge Sweetkit.

  • He pressed his paws over the wound lightly, spreading the gauze out to coat the entirety of the elders shoulder with a thoughtful expression on his face, when Sweetkit approached he didn't acknowledge her until he had the gash set properly.
"I...yes. I've been healing since I was a kitten." Lark-kit had become ThunderClan's medicine cat apprentice at only four moons, shortly after receiving his apprentice name he moved to BloodClan thinking he could do some good there. The naivety of youth, his brow creased unhappily at the memory. He'd grown up quickly in BloodClan, as their Priest he ended up being forced into situations he hadn't been prepared for and he lost his youth and innocent whims not that long after taking his full name there.
He wiped his paws free of excess cobwebs as he considered Fadedhistory's words.
"I'm fairly new too so I've not yet met the healers." He'd like to though, while he himself was no longer a medic he still enjoyed discussing his old trade. "Head pains then? I wouldn't recommend poppy seeds since if the pains are from some kind of concussion or swelling they'll only make it worse, but if you chew some blackberry leaves it'd probably ease off some."
While generally used for the swelling of bee stings he had found that the leaves of the blackberries had a sort of narcotic and pain-dulling sensation as well when chewed.
"Don't swallow it though, just chew." It took a moment to spot the bristling prongs of the foliage he sought but when he did he plucked it up, with a mental note to restore what he'd used later, and offered it toward the blind male.

The medic positions had always seemed to be zealously coveted - for reasons she'd never quite understand - and the silver blue kitsune wondered if Brassgoggles ever wanted to return to a life of healing and medicine. It wasn't a very appealing career path to Sweetkit, but she had the sense to realise that not everyone was always of the same opinion.

He shook his head 'no' towards Brassgoggles before speaking up once again. "It happens whenever I use my powers. There's not much avoiding it, and I'm pretty much used to it at this point." He stated calmly.

  • He gave a short laugh at Lily's comment, "We haven't officially met, Lily dear. We have seen eachother but proper introductions were never made." Brass rather liked the snippy female, those who spoke their mind always won his favor quickly.
At Fadedhistory's words he merely nodded, understanding the trials of powers despite having so few of his own now that he'd cast them away.
"Well take it easy you." If it caused him too much grief then excessive use just wouldn't do. The tabby turned to put back the rest of the herbs he'd borrowed and to take account of what had been used to he could refill them later for the healer's, but he did hear Sweetkit's question and considered it to himself quietly.

Did he miss it? No. No, he didn't miss being a clan's official healer at all. He didn't miss being cursed and screamed at for doing his job, he didn't miss others trying to have him demoted because he couldn't save everyone or because he had a life outside of healing. He didn't miss other healers guarding their positions so zealously as if he existed merely to take them away.
And he certainly didn't miss the drama that surrounded such a position.
Brassgoggles was fully capable of healing as he enjoyed without a title.
"No. I don't." Came the final, cheerful reply.
