  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px; height: auto; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;]Voletail was up to just about nothing. He had not realized how boring his life was until everything finally slowed back down. About six moons ago, a boring day would have been an exciting day. Not long ago, it was actually an oddity to see joiners. Of course, that had been HitherClan, and not SylvanClan, so he supposed things had to be different.

He was laying in the camp clearing, feeling the warm sun beat down on him. It had not been the warmest recently, but at least the sun was out and shining. For green-leaf, the deputy had noticed that it was far cooler than it often was. At least it wasn't extremely hot - that would make it impossible to hunt, or just do anything, for that matter.

As he often did when he was alone and up to nothing, Voletail was thinking about various things. Mainly, his granddaughter, Kestrelpaw, who had gone missing. No one had really paid attention to that little tidbit in the meeting, besides him and his grandson. What was she up to? Was she still alive, or had she been taken by the Exiles? So many questions, and yet he knew he would not be able to answer any of them unless he got to see her again, dead or alive. Oh, how he already missed the red tabby.

  • "Oh, hello, Voletail," Fernflower meowed, approaching the suntanning deputy with a soft smile. "Looks like you've got something on your mind. I'm free to talk, if you want," She murmured, her one blind eye blinking softly.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px; height: auto; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;]"Hm?" the tomcat lifted his head off of his paws, looking up at the she-cat. This was the new warrior, wasn't she? Fernflower, he was pretty sure. It looked like she was already getting used to SylvanClan, which was good.

Listening to what she had to say, Voletail decided to change the subject. He did not like to discuss his feelings - they made him feel awkward, especially at his age. "Oh, it's nothing. I'm fine." Hopefully, the blind warrior would take the hint and not bother asking again. The last thing he was really interested in was talking about everything that troubled him.

"Anyways, how have you been? Has SylvanClan been a good clan so far?" Even though it was obvious that he was saying this to avoid talking about himself, the pale brown deputy was truly interested. He wanted to make sure that new members felt just as welcome in the clan as the older ones did.

  • "It's nice, a lot better than living by yourself, actually." She murmured, looking- well, metaphorically looking- at Voletail with a gentle smile.

"I'm just not very used to living in a crowd. I've learned to fend for myself, despite my blindness and all," She meowed, shuffling her sitting position as she spoke. She was not a very good talker, for obvious reasons.
