Esme sighed as she hugged her mom, "Just a short nightmare, but other than that I slept well." She pulled away and smiled, knowing her mom was only being cautious and a caring mother.
Maddie slowly ate, savoring the taste. Fudging delicious! She thought to herself.
Miah frowned "What happened this time?"She asked as she let go and handed her a plate. She put Grays and hers on the table before she stretched and got her a glass of milk. Leo always loved his familes cooking he ate all of it.
Gray finally awoke and turned to try and wrap himself around Miah. He opened his eyes to hear chatter and the bed empty. Already up?! God, I'm getting old! He grumbled and pulled himself out of bed. He pulled a shirt and sweats on before slowly making his way down the stairs.
Esme grabbed the plate and slowly ate as she talked, "It's the same. Always repeating. The same bright light. It keeps getting closer and when I'm about to touch it, everything turns to darkness and I'm placed in the middle of a dark forest. Everything is dying, and the moon is a dark red. Turning the forest a tint of red." Esme frowned, "It always ends there... I can't get farther."
Miah frowned and knelt down as she sighed "Well Esme.I was thinking..Maybe ...we could go see a doctor.they might be able to help you with your dreams?"She didn't like the fact she couldn't help her own daughter at all. She sighed "Maybe...maybe if we go out to the woods then the dream might change..."She was quite worried.
Esme just nodded, "I'd rather choose the woods than a doctor..." Esme got really bad vibes from doctors and whenever she has the chance to stay away from them, she takes it. "Maybe tonight... If I sleep in the woods, that might let me access more of the dream?"
Gray finally reached the bottom of the stairs and saw Miah almost holding Esme. Another nightmare? He thought to himself as he slowly walked towards them.
Miah sighed then nodded wanting what was best for Esme "Im not letting you sleep alone...It could be dangerous...so will come with you Im sure your dad will be ok with it"She said before noticing him she looked up and her eyes said it all. Despair and helplessness.
Esme just nodded, knowing she was right. Esme looked back to see her dad, where she finally backed up to give them some personal time and so she could eat.
Gray snapped out of his daze as he noticed the look on Miah's face. He quickly closed the distance between them and waited to talk after Esme had left to the table. Gray looked back down at Miah, a hand out to help her up, "Another nightmare?"
"Same one again"Miah sighed using his hand to stand up and she stretched "She wants to sleep in the woods...she thinks it could give her more information...of course I will go with her to make sure nothing hurts her"She said "If its ok with you?"
Gray just looked at her with a frown, "I guess... But if you and Esme aren't back by six tomorrow, I'm coming to look for you two." He told her, fear already rushing through him. Gray pulled Miah close to him and gently kissed her on the cheek, "I don't want to be loosing you and having to take care of these crazy kids." He joked around, trying to lighten the mood.
Esme sat at the table, not wanting to disturb her brother. All she could think about was the light, and what it meant.
Miah nodded "Thats fine I understand"Although she hated seeing him scared there was little she could do in this situation. She had to focus on Esme...the nightmares must be disturbing her. She sighed and kissed his cheek before smiling slighty "Sorry that I handed down my craziness to them..."She joked.
Gray rolled his eyes, "You are the best kind of crazy, my queen!" He stepped back to glance over at the table where Miah and his plate sat. He looked back at Miah and smiled, "Gotta' eat before it gets too cold."
Miah nodded kissing his nose "And you are my adorable King..Gray"She smiled her pink eyes full of love as she sat down and began ating the meal she had cooked earlier.
Leo took the plates and things away once Maddie was done.
Gray smiled like a two year old and went to join Miah at the table, where he was vacuuming his food.
Maddie sighed, happy and stuffed. She closed her eyes and thought about actually being able to run in the woods, oh how nice it would be.
Esme quickly finished and went to put her plate in the sink. There, she met her brother, "Good morning, Leo."
Miah smiled and laughed at how messy he was being bu didn't care.
Leo smiled "Ah..Esme hello, good morning?"He said "How have you been?"Despite not talking to her much he cared a lot about her. He knew as soon as she had a lover who broke her heart he would break their face.
Esme groaned and rubbed her face, "Managing greatly, brother. How are you and Maddie?" She quickly changed the subject. Esme quietly placed her plate and fork in the dishwasher and hopped onto the counter.
Leo sighed "We are going well, she was walking today...only a bit but she did well"He smiled before starting up the dishwasher "I just hope that nothing bad happens like this again"
Esme smiled, "I bet it won't. Plus I won't allow it to happen again." Esme was a pretty determined child. She hopped off the counter and started making her way towards the back door, "I'm going to go get some fresh air."
Leo smiled to her and hugged her quickly "Thanks.."He said happily before he went back over to maddie sighed as he sat down "How are you feeling?"
Esme hugged him back and quickly went out the back door. She always felt at peace in the woods.
Maddie opened her eyes and looked over at Leo, "Fairly good! Just wish the healing process was quicker." She held her legs up for a while before dropping them back down. "How are you feeling?"
Leo smiled "Im fine...Everythings ok Maddie you will heal i promise"he said happily as he hugged her and kissed her forehead although on the inside he was scared of things happening again.
