A FEW WORDS
When you began your walk you didn't think you would find yourself here, on unfamiliar land. Your nerves burn a bit under your skin, but there is no shaking the excitement tingling in your paws; something big is about to happen. Just as you have embraced this realization, a serious, and seasoned voice booms from behind you, causing you to turn. "Welcome stranger, it would seem your calling is a bit late." The tom who is flanked by two other cats doesn't appear hostile, as you had anticipated, and actually... seems to have been expecting you. Your confusion must have been displayed on your face, because the tom continues. "Your arrival is no coincidence. You wouldn't think we would allow just anyone to cross our borders, would you? It is because you already have the scent of the stars in your pelt. It would be in your best interest to come with us, young cat." It didn't appear as you had much of a choice, but you weren't about to point that out. So you pushed any unease to the side, and let convinced yourself that it was curiosity that propelled you after the cats.
On your way to the disclosed location you noticed that the cats had gone out of their way to lead you to the mouth of a cave from which you could hear voices. You tried to peer around the heads of the cats in front of you, but then they turned to face you, and you had to stop abruptly in order to not run into them. The tom who had spoken earlier eyed you over for a moment before speaking. "Welcome to ZenithClan. It is here that you experience the most rewarding, and hardest moons of your life. You sought us, even if unknowingly, but we must choose you, now. You will face a series of assessments, and undergo intense training to make you extraordinary, or fall to the pressure, as many do. Get ready to face the challenge, because I promise you, the reward will make up for it ten times over, and you will make unparalleled bonds. Perform well, or face the consequences. It is how our world works, and I have great confidence in you."

YOUR HOME
Territory- Zenithclan's borders haven't expanded for many moons, because they already have an abundance of land, some even goes unused during the normal seasons. The bulk of their territory lays on a portion of a heavily forested mountain range. The dense forests are made up mostly of coniferous trees with floors of heavily stocked undergrowth. However, it isn't uncommon in steeper sections of the mountain for the forest to give way to sizable segments of stone slabs. The best known of them being Shade Rift Rocks; named for their characteristic location in which the sun is nearly always touching the stones. The clan takes full advantage of this spot when they get the chance, because there is ordinarily a murky layer of mist engulfing the trees. It is worth mentioning that the fog in unsystematic when it comes to how it will effect the feel of a day, whether it be making it humid, or cool, light, or heavy. A ways to the north, and then west of the famous stone is an even more spirit-enlightening place. The Starry Tarn is a spiritual place, and a mysterious one. This is where the Shaman goes each half-moon to share-tongues with StarClan; and where rising valors go to be accepted into the clan after internship. It is a daunting trip, one harder than expected, and can be very dangerous. It is a three-sun's length journey, and requires strengthening herbs. The tarn can easily be looked over once reaching the top of the mountain peak where it sits, blending into the night, calmly, and quietly, and blending in color during the day. However, it is said that when it knows one is seeking it, and it accepts the search, that it will blossom in light, steadily glowing brighter. But if you wish to even attempt to reach the sacred tarn, you first must find a way across the Gorge River which is situated in a dip between the two mountains, and could easily rip a cat into its current. It is the most dangerous river source in the light forest, most others are simple streams. About halfway between the river, and the camp is where a lot of training takes place, the Soft Glade. Far south of the camp is home to another animal, but one you don't want to get involved with. The trees thin out a little more down there, and it makes a nice place for badgers. The cats will occasionally go there, and make sure they aren't causing trouble, but usually leave them. Another location commonly avoided by the clan is Adder Point. It is a semi-clearing in the forest where trees have been known to fall, and adders have taken up residence. Adder Point is relatively close to the Dark Trees, and assessment grounds.
Assessment Grounds- A frequently changing patch of territory that is for the sole purpose of pushing a cat to its brink. While it is only used for testing, sometimes an initiate, or intern will sneak over and train. Doing this is punishable, and seen as cheating. A part of these grounds is the Dim Forest. Where the trees seem taller, and more ominous, and is rumored to be haunted. It isn't too farfetched, because any cat that goes in, stays longer than they are welcomed, and survives, will likely have some brain, or physical deficits.
Camp- Nestled deep in the territory, and well hidden lays the [color=#040205]camp entrance, a crevice about halfway down the mountain side. Barely noticeable, and shielded by especially dense brambles, unless you know where to look, and it stand out like a claw mark in the mountain side. Past the entryway, the camp opens up into a compact opening with high ceilings. It is what once was a winding river that flowed through the mountain, but has since dried out, and shifted into a network of tunnels, and occasionally random caverns. The clan sticks to the immediate tunnels, and rooms nearest the Great Cave, or main living area. The tunnels farther out have been tested for use before, but deemed too risky, small, and maze-like. So, back to the ones that ZenithClan inhabits. The trailblazer's den can be located via a walk down a semi-long, dark passage at the very back of the cave. The den isn't large once you get there, but there is a trickling stream, and enough room for three cats to sit, and not get their fur wet. The shaman's den actually is at the end of a passage branching off from the trailblazer's. But at the end of this one it opens up into a cavern somewhat similar, but slightly smaller to the Great Cave; and there is a wall of stalagmites and stalactites that have formed together to provide a half-wall between the shaman's sleeping quarters, and storage, and any patients. Next is the validated's den, which is by far the largest den in the clan. It is actually just a part of the Great Cave, but separated by a wall similar to that in the shaman's den. While it has lower ceilings, it is especially wide with five, or six shallow, and sandy dips in the ground where each specialty gets their own nest area. The interns have a medium sized den down a short, and large tunnel next to the valor's den. It is often cluttered with old moss, twigs, and loose brambles, because they don't usually have the time to clean it up. To the left of the trailblazer's tunnel is the nursery. It is located at the end of a dimly lit, and moss padded tunnel where it opens up to a warm, and sandy cave. There is enough room for queens to rest, and kits to play. The seniors' den isn't much, just a simply, wide, dead-end tunnel padded with moss similar to the nursery to make it comfortable, and easily reachable to any disabled, and the elderly cats. It is closest to the shaman's den, and has a partial bramble screen. Finally, the initiates. They are given the sparsest den, more of a long, shallow dip along the edge of the Great Cave. Their nests are only what they can pull together, and are relatively uncomfortable. They have no space for privacy, and can be kept an eye on there. That pretty much sums up the ZenithClan's lovely camp.

OUR TRADITIONS
The Calling - A spiritual, and hard to explain notion in which a cat that StarClan feels could be a potentially good member for ZenithClan may receive dreams, or have a gut-feeling they must go somewhere, or be somewhere else. Somehow their paws will wander to the border of ZenithClan territory. This may be the case for any cat in the right age range, and they may be from a different clan, kittypet, rogue, and be pulled towards it. Or in cases of clan-born kits, it usually happens around six moons, and they will be seen testing themselves, or acting more mature than just a sun ago.

LET THESE GUIDE YOU
ooc ;;
1. this is semi-adv to adv which means you should have proper grammar and spelling and each post should be at least 6+ sentences and detailed. low muse is understood, but should still be at least three sentences.
2. please keep genders, ranks, and ages even.
3. all feralfront rules apply.
4. include everyone, especially new members of the role-play. everyone should be involved, there are many occasions to get involved in this clan.
5. if you have any comments, questions, or concerns, pm me, don't start unnecessary drama on your own.
6. don't flood the role-play, give others the time to respond, and keep chatting to a minimum on this thread, i will make a thread for it after a few players join.
7. you may have as many characters as you like, but you must be able to handle them.
8. keep active, i tried to shape this clan in a fashion that will allow it to be entertaining on a semi-average basis.
9. if you will be inactive, give me a heads up, or if you no longer can be apart of the thread, don't just ditch it. tell me, i will understand, and simply remove your cats, or ask you to kill them off.
10. even though this clan isn't totally traditional, i would like to keep the names that way. nothing crazy, but you may be creative with them, and can use prefixes/suffixes found in their territory, or in their past. i reserve the right to request you to change it if i feel it is a bit farfetched.
11. this goes along with rule ten, that cats can't have green fur, and purple eyes, wings, powers (unless run by me for a prophecy,) and metal fixtures.
12. i may include more as i see fit.
13. reservations will last 48 hrs. if a rank you desire has been reserved, still make a form, because i will choose base it most likely on activity, or advancedness.
ic ;;
1. have well-rounded characters, be creative, no one is perfect. and preferably no super depressed cats.
2. feel free to start off with relationships (kin & romance) in the role-play, but no mates. and you may not role-play your own mate. branch out! be bold, no one is judging c:
3. no power-playing.
4. right now the amount of initiates, and interns is limited, however, i may adjust the amount if more slots are desired. however, there must be more residents than interns.
5. if you role-play an initiate, they may actually leave the clan, and you could sign-up with them in a different role-play, that'd be neat! or if you get tired of your cat you could have them go, and make a new one to show up for initiation all over again!
6. their customs demand that once an initiate leaves, they aren't welcomed back, but for drama purposes there can be exceptions.
7. speaking of drama, don't make it all about yourself, although the more the merrier, contribute to the group!
8. they live by the warrior code, or their own kind to a certain degree.
9. they also believe in starclan.
10. initiates are not allowed all secrets, or customs by any means, in case they do leave.
11. don't sign up with a kit unless you have a mother you are role-playing, or have confirmed with another role-player that their character can be their mother.
12. initiates can be (ex)kittypets, (ex)rogues, or had belonged to a different clan. they also may have received the calling at any age as provided in their rank description.
13. if you have any questions for your rank, their tasks, or anything else, don't hesitate to ask on this thread, or the chatting one! i won't bite (at least not too hard ;))

rank interpretation ;;
Trailblazer- The cat, whether it be male or female, who leads the clan. Their word is the ultimate law, and they alone hold the right to promote, and demote ranks as they see fit. They oversee day-to-day tasks, and all other activities. As trailblazer, their most important job is to better the clan, however it may be, and make the road to that goal a safe one for the rest of the cats. They are granted nine lives by StarClan when becoming leader in order to assist them on their pursuit of greatness. They are to be treated with the utmost respect. ( Age - 40m+)
Attendant- A cat who has proven their extreme loyalty, and worth to the clan via moons of hard work, they are second-in-command to the trailblazer. They aid him/her in their tasks, and weigh a substantial amount in decision making. Their duties consist of providing reports to the trailblazer of any requests, and of how patrols went, as well as assigning those patrols out. Also, when the leader is ill or unable to perform their duties, the attendant will take the leader's place until they recover, and eventually take over for them if they step down or die. (Age - 35m+)
Shaman- An exceptionally important role to the clan, and one widely respected for taking a different path in life. The shaman, or their intern often shows signs of being a promising cat for the job at a young age. They must learn herbs, and treatments for the rest of the clan along with coming up with a way to harbor these plants. It is expected of the shaman that they do not take on a mate, or bear kits in order to give all their attention to clan-mates. It is also believed, if the opportunity presents themselves, that the shaman treat any cat, whether they belong to the clan or not. They also share a strong bond with StarClan, and may receive, and interpret omens. These signs are expected to be shared with the trailblazer immediately upon receiving them. They will choose their intern when they believe they have found the fittest candidate to take over for them when the time comes. ( Age - 30m+ )
Advisors- These three cats preform normal residential duties during the rest season (the time in which there are no initiates,) no matter how small a time this is. The advisors are extremely hard-working cats, and not always given as much credit as they should for their labor. Their job is to introduce all incoming initiates to the way of the clan, and then begin the process of teaching, and testing them. Testing is extremely important to ZenithClan, and the more that pass, the better off the clan will be in the future. It is therefore not only the initiates fault if they do something, but the advisors'. ( Age - 30m+ )
The Validated (Residents/Valors)- At this time, cats have become, and are considered true members of the clan. There will usually be some sort of celebration when this happens, in which the whole clan becomes involved. These cats are the body of the clan. Though they may do any of the specialties when needed, or even if they simply want to branch out for a short time. However, they are expected to carry out their specialized fields, which are the following: warriors, tunnelers, hunters, scouts, and test-makers. The warriors specialize in guarding the clan, and defending it when necessary, they also will be the ones to pursue any dangers. They spend their days escorting other patrols against the common, and uncommon dangers of ZenithClan territory. Hunters, as their name suggests, hunt. They provide the common needs of the clan, but will also bring water-soaked moss to the camp. The tunnelers' job is to expand the network of the the camp, and also to make any necessary repairs. They will also assist test-makers in forming new tests when necessary. Even though this specialty is sometimes mocked, and over-looked, it is very important. Next up are scouts, the explorers of the clan. They are constantly out running through the trees, and on occasion reaching out of the borders. They are supposed to mark the borders, and report any anomalies. They also act as messengers when necessary, and are excellent trackers. Finally, the test-makers, the brainiacs, and imaginative cats of the clan. This is the least-commonly filled position, simply because not many are required. They must come up with new tests, and are usually preforming experiments, and must come up with new assessments, as well as correcting old ones, and are in charge of rotating the cycle of tests. It is common for their to be competition between the specialties. Any of these cats may be promoted at any given time. ( Age - 24m+ )
Interns- After an initiate chooses to stay in the clan they will get to choose the specialty of their choice, and though it is commonly the one they excelled at the most during initiation, they may also choose whichever one they enjoy most. Once they have chosen a specialty, they are apprenticed to a cat who carries out said specialty. During this time they will perfect their specialty, and become one with it. They will not be given any assessments until the very end of internship, and then they will have a night vigil, and become true residents of ZenithClan. ( Age - 18-24m )
Initiates- These young cats generally receive what the cats of ZenithClan know as the Calling. This is when a cat suddenly is drawn towards the heart of ZenithClan, whatever it occurs to them as, sometimes a desire to test oneself, or to be in a certain place in the territory. Usually the cats of the clan will notice before the actual cat. This cat is not necessarily clan-born either, it is not uncommon for them to be either rogue, or kittypet, even sometimes from another clan. A cat doesn't have a choice if it is discovered that they have received the Calling, they must become an initiate, because it is believed that they are most easily influenced at this age. When becoming an initiate, you are considered the bottom of the food chain, even if it is vital that you pass your assessments, and carry on the clan. Along with learning, these cats must also do any cleaning, and chores that need to be done, including caring for the seniors. It doesn't matter if you are clan-born, or not at this stage, however, you are trained separately in order to teach each cat at the necessary level they require. During their training they will dabble in each of the residential specialties, and must be well rounded by the time they finish this stage of training. During this time they will also go through a series of assessments that are explained in the customs section of the fancypost. At the end of initiation they are granted the option of leaving the clan, and returning to their previous life, or in the case of clan-born cats exploring options of another group of cats, but once you leave in very few cases you aren't allowed back. ( Age - 6-18m )
Queens- A vital part of the clan is to create future generations, and it is always provides some cheer when there are kits around. The queens are nursing, or expecting kits. They will stay with their kits in the nursery until they become initiates, and then will return to their normal residential tasks. ( Age - 24m+ / side note that for drama purposes a cat may be younger, it is just looked down upon )
Seniors- This is pretty self-explanatory, these are the cats who have served the clan, and have since retired. They occasionally will still hunt, but only if accompanied by a valor. They do as they please, and are treated with great respect. ( Age - 110m+ w/ the exception of any disabled cats )
