  • I ignored the commotion below as I managed to squirm up the trees not so fragile branches, until I snagged one and almost fell. I slowed my ascending pace until I cleared above the tops of most of the surrounding trees. I saw next to nothing, until I noticed a rockface to the far North. It was a mountain's cliff. High ground. But a good bit of distance away.

I made my way down to notify the other's of my findings.

"Just a good bit of Tree-lengths away!"

  • "Spiritpelt, get down from there, mouse brain! you'll hurt yourself!" I know she's doing that to see ahead, and it is a great help, but sometimes I wonder how long it'll be before she hurts herself.

  • "I am! You don't need to give me the tone of a Fox-Heart!" I exclaimed, climbing from the perch.

"I don't see anyone else helping to search for shelter. They're more focused on finding whatever food they can. I mean, I, too, am hungry, but I'm more concerned about where I'm going to find refuge."

  • "I just wanted to make sure you were safe, I don't want anyone getting hurt. And I do not care about food more than shelter, I just happen to spot a deer! We've been walking for ten suns and we have had limited meals, you should be happy we caught this deer."

  • "I know it may not seem like it, but I am thankful for the finding of this deer. You understand this. The others, though. They seem to be somehow lost." I responded quietly.

  • "Yeah, I've noticed that as well, but i'm not quite sure how to explain it.. they seem... off, since we've begun this journey to the new land." I look at the horizon. Almost night.

  • "Which way are we going to head?" I ask, looking between the wolves. The setting sun gleaming onto our wet pelts making them shine.

  • Why is mud so fun to walk in? I started to prance around, amused. I think I was too amused, because I fell flat on my face and my snout was halfway in the mud- I get up and shake the mud off.

  • "Okay, okay." I say trying not to start laughing again. I continue going, the rain getting heavier and heavier until its to the point we can barely see whats in front of us.

  • I couldn't see one tail-length ahead of me, so every one in a while, I'd bark as a sign that I'm still here, and the others did the same. "How close are we, Shadewhisper?!" I raised my voice so it was able to be heard over the rain.

  • "I can't tell!" I shouted back, the rising sun letting a new glow come up making it easier to see but still very difficult. "We should stop so we don't get too far off track." I suggest.

  • "Okay" I split off, looking around none of the trees or rocks looking like I remembered. Continuing to look around I find a rock overhang. 'It's not a den, but it'll do' I think to myself.
Howling loudly, there is a message "I found somewhere to stay!"

  • I look back at the others. I can barely see them, but I can slightly make out the forms of Emberstar and Spiritpelt standing behind me. "Lets go to where Shadewhisper found the shelter." I say to them. I walk off and the others are following.

  • I sit down, waiting until the other three get here. 'I hope this one doesn't flood' I think.
After a while the threes silhouettes come into view "Over here!" I shout, standing up under the rock cover.

  • I spot Shadewhisper and look back to motion to the others. I start running, which is a big mistake. Almost to the rock cover, I slip and fall and I hit the wall of the shelter. I look up at Shadewhisper. "Go ahead, laugh all you want." I say, sounding unamused.
