mac had just returned from his mission over seas. he was in the military, but he also worked for s.h.i.e.l.d. from time to time. about two days ago he received a message from his father, steve rogers or captian america. it was something to effect that he had been by loki; with the other avengers. then the message but out and back on again with his father gone and blood everywhere. he couldn't get that picture out of his head. his father was dead, at least that is what he believed. the others had to be dead too. the earth's mightiest heroes, dead.

so mac did the normal thing. he called all of the avenger children together for a meeting. all he had told them was that it was urgent and to meet at avenger's tower. he didn't want to have to tell them over the phone that their parents were dead.

but none the less he was headed toward avenger's tower. he just hated that he had to break the news to them. mac was pretty good friends with most of the avengers' children. he tried to shake the thought away as he sped up, he wanted to be the first to arrive there.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]niklaus stood on the street corner. he had arrive on midgard about a month ago. he had been staying with his uncle thor and most everything believed him to be thor's son even though they had never seen him before now. his cousins knew it was all a lie though, but thor had prompted them to not spill niklaus' secret. but now thor was gone.

niklaus had always played the innocent kid. he pretended to be nothing like his father to the people who knew that loki was his father. he assumed he was going to have to tell the rest of them soon though. especially if he wanted most of them to trust him.

he looked up at the avenger's tower, but he didn't enter. he almost didn't feel welcome. so he stood there staring up at it, waiting for someone to arrive or let him in.

  • Leon's mom dropped him off at the tower, and pulled away. He looked up at the tall building that stood before him. He didn't even know why he was here, his mom wouldn't tell him. All she said was his father wanted him to go. Leon hadn't pried her any further.

Leon headed towards the tower. He spotted another kid on the street corner, and decided to go over to him so he didn't feel weird walking into the tower alone. "Hey!" Leon called, walking towards him.

  • Felicity

Felicity was almost home when she got the suspicious call from Mac to meet at the Avengers tower. "Ok" was all she managed to say before he hung up on her. Not that she was very surprised, she didn't really mingle a lot with the other avenger's kids. But that was besides the point. The point was Mac didn't really sound like Mac, he seems distracted a bit. Worried. That usually was not a very good thing. Who really knows, it really wasn't her business to worry about Mac. What she did need to worry about how she was gonna get there. Because calking a taxi was defently out of the question and walking probably wouldn't be the best idea either considering it looked like it was about to down poor.

As usual, Athena was left behind at Stark Towers. Her father and the rest of the Avengers were off saving the world, and her brother was off doing his own missions. She wanted to be like them, to join the family ranks of helping civilians but her father was firm that she'd need far more training. So, for the past month Athena had been training, teetering schoolwork, playing with Mads and Felix, a birthday gift Steve had gotten for her, and cramming as much Netflix as she could into her days. The gravity manipulator was getting ready for another Saturday on her own, though she may call Levi, when she was alerted that Mac was home. Of course the blonde was glad that he was home, though was a bit disappointed that their father had yet to return. However, her malcontent didn't stop Athena from rushing downstairs to greet him, though faltered when she noted his expression. He seemed defeated, though offered a shell of a smile. "Mac... Are you ok? Did your mission go alright?" His muscular shoulders sagged at this, and he made a soft noise; not a good sign.

"Athena. The other's are coming." Mac informed her, in that alarmingly solemn voice. She wasn't named after the wise Greek Goddess for nothing, and understanding that something was wrong she nervously bit at her lip, though nodded. "I hope... I hope dad- No. Don't think like that Athena!" She scolded herself. Maybe SHIELD was trying to mold the kids again to follow their parent's footsteps, and become the avengers 2.0 or something. "At least that means Levi is coming. Always a silver lining I suppose." Athena thought to herself. Subconciously she'd begun to levitate off the floor, a sign of her control or lack thereof of the ability that flowed through her veins. Squeaking with surprise, she closed her eyes focusing on letting herself down. Once her feet had connected once more to solid ground with a dull thud she turned her sights back on her half-brother. Admittedly she didn't know him very well. For the three years Athena had been at the tower's with her father she hadn't put in a lot of effort to get to know him. It wasn't that she disliked him; it was just... She felt odd about it.

She knew how much their father loved his mother; meanwhile she was just a fling. Athena had always wondered if Mac saw her as a betrayal to his own mother. And while Steve had made a point to spend time with both his children, Athena had demanded a little more of his time. When she first got to the tower she was jealous of how close their father and her brother were. Granted their relationship wasn't perfect, none are, but it was nice. Something that Athena strove to have as well. So, she pushed herself in training, in school, trying to bond with the father she'd met after fourteen years of being on the planet. Instead of burying herself in negative thoughts Athena tried to focus on the positives. The rest of the Avenger kids were coming- and while she hardly knew them save for Levi, she was excited to greet them, and get to know them. The intoxicating blonde didn't really know many other kids with powers, and was honestly thrilled to get to know more people like her. Clearing her throat, gaining Mac's attention she asked in her low, melodic and smooth voice "Are the other's going to be here soon?"

"some of them might be walking." he suggested as he looked back at her.

he felt like punching a wall and crying all at the same time. he wanted to tell everyone at once and he was willing to tell everyone except for athena. what would she say? would she be angry at him? some how deep down inside mac felt like this was his fault. maybe if he had just gone with his father things would of gone different, yeah he'd be dead with the rest of them.

mac put his back against the wall as he tapped his figure nervously on the wall. "athena, things aren't really looking good." he said. he wanted to brace her for the news he was about to dump on her and the other kids. [/fancypost]

Levi Elijah Barnes tried to live as far outside of the Avengers and their namesake as he could. He was a musician, at least was trying. He'd play with his band on the weekends though during the day worked at the inner city shelter in Manhattan. It wasn't an overtly fancy living- but Levi loved it. He made it for himself and didn't rely on his father to make a name for himself; and Levi couldn't be prouder. It wasn't like there was any bad blood between him and his father- not anymore. That was all in the past, however presently he stared down at his phone, his thick eyebrows furrowing together. Of all the Avenger's kids to receive a text from Mac would be on the bottom of his list. He'd been in the middle of writing down some chords when his phone chimed. With a sigh, figuring it was Victor or Michael asking about said chords he impatiently typed his passcode in; though his blood froze when he saw Mac's name. If there was a problem, Levi wasn't the one they normally brought in. In fact, Levi had really fallen out with a few kids on his refusal to have anything to do with New York's favorite crime-fighting squad.

"Come to Stark Towers. Now." Mac wasn't one for light jokes like his sister, though this sounded odd even for Cadet. Grumbling, tempted to simply refuse the thought of his father needing help or something made his stomach coil. His dog, Argo, sensing his master's unease whined, pushing his nose against Levi's hand. Grumbling, pushing himself into action. Putting his guitar carelessly down he gripped Argo's thick collar, guiding the dog over to his crate. "Gotta go take care of some business bud. Be good. I'll be home for dinner." The dark haired man promised, rubbing his chin nervously. Preparing to go, glancing outside and noticing the thick, angry, gray clouds and the static in the air Levi huffed under his breath his colorful opinion about having to go out in the rain. Grabbing a sweatshirt and shrugging it on Levi closed his eyes, exhaling and focusing on himself. Taking a few steps forward he phased through the wall, and after turning himself solid again headed towards the tower. The thing about New York was, there was always traffic. Foot traffic, vehicle traffic, so it took twice as long to get anywhere. His walk was miserable, he hadn't even taken five steps before big, fat Forrest Gump type rain drops began splashing against the concrete jungle.

"Screw it." Levi mumbled, and making himself intangible set off. It was his favorite trick, no traffic, and no getting wet from the rain; and he made it to Stark Towers in record time. Noting two boys out front, not pausing long enough to identify which Avengers they belonged to he simply grunted, before walking straight into the building. Levi may of hated actually working for SHIELD or the Avengers, but he'd been here plenty to hang out with Athena. Taking the elevator up to the floor meetings were normally held on, trying not to think about how the building smelt like money and secrets, he waited until the elevator dinged letting him know that he was there. As soon as the doors opened he could feel his stomach drop. Athena was staring at Mac with large, frightened eyes- as if in shock. "Athena. Hey." Levi called, hoping to maybe figure out what was going on. She looked up, clearly momentarily shaking off whatever it was that Mac had said to her. Opening his arms to give her a hug as she ran over he pulled away after a moment. "So Boy Wonder, what's so important you couldn't just tell my dad. The guy that actually works for you?"

Kailynn found herself walking with Tanner"Don't you have a sister?" she asked looking over at him. He kept talking"Where's Trish and Trist?"he replied. Kailynn shook her head before starting think why they were called in the first place. She also wondered why was she walking with one of the most idiotic person she knew. All he did was call her, tell her to walk with him and the other to, and she listened! Kailynn thought she was the smartest one of the four.

Kailynn crossed her arms, and looked at Tanner"I'm your friend, but don't you have a sister?"she repeated.Tanner nodded"That's besides the point!"he yelled pointing towards her. She was surprised he answered.

  • Bacchus
A sigh escaped Bacchus's lips as he received Mac's message. He frowned, it was clearly urgent. He was deep in thought before Xindall's deep bark broke his thoughts away. He rubbed the dogs head. "Don't worry Xindall. Everything is fine...Promise." He said with a small sgh. He picked his hammer up from the coffee table and headed to the Stark Tower. He kept walking until he saw Nicklaus. "Nicklaus! There you are! Cousin I was so worried!" He said and hugged him before dragging him inside. He looked at Mac. "What's wrong?"

    Jackson Stark/Titanium Bane
Jackson was already in the Stark Tower. He was deep in the basement, fixing things on his suit. "This suit is the most beautiful... Dad is gonna be so proud once he finds out. Right Cookie?" He asked, looking at his Kitten with a green. The Kitten was on the table and hearing her masters voice made the cat mew happily. Jackson chuckled before getting Mac's message. A groan of annoyance escaped from his throat before he ran upstairs. He glared at Mac, Furious that his work was interrupted. "What's the problem Boy Scout?" He demanded

  • Leon moved out of the guy's way, kind of annoyed he had just ignored him and take the guy he had been talking to away. Leon sighed and followed them into the tower. Once inside, he noticed there were more people there. Not a lot of people, but enough. Leon spotted a muscular guy that looked like he might know what's going on. His mom had been the one to get the call not him, so he didn't know Mac. They had never mt. Leon starting walking towards him before noticing he was already talking to people. One of those people was the guy who had been rude on the street earlier. Leon narrowed his eyes at him and bore into his back with his gaze. It might not be a good idea to interrupt them though no matter how much he water to punch the guy, they seemed to be in deep conversation. Leon turned the other way, seeing who else he could talk to to know where he was suppose to go.

He called running over to them, glad that he didn't have to listen to another stupid question from Trisha. Trisha ran over and hugged Mackenzie. "I'm glad to see you, Tristan was being stupid." "Probably. Some of them are probably walking." His answers felt somewhat cold and clipped. Trying not to be miffed by his attitude there was nothing much for Athena to do, so she sunk down to the floor, legs crossed and back leaning against one of the walls. There was this gut-deep feeling that something was wrong. While Mac wasn't the warm-fuzzy type- he didn't usually act this cold. And it wasn't like Athena's father to go so long without some form of communication. Had something really happened? It couldn't, not to her father. The sensation of panic was starting to dull her senses, slow her thinking. "There's nothing wrong. There's nothing wrong." However even as she chanted her inner mantra she felt tears prickling the back of her throat. She felt pathetic, not at all like the soldier her father was training her to be. Closing her eyes the honey-haired blonde forced herself to take deep breaths, refusing to let her mind avert to the worst possible outcomes for her father.

By some miracle, Mac must of taken in his sister's pathetic expression. "Athena-" He started sounding gravely, a little hoarse as if he were having trouble finding the words. The smallest moment of silence befell her brother before he continued sounding just as somber as before. "Things aren't really looking good." Her heart broke hearing those words. That was what she overheard her father telling Levi when his mother was on her deathbed. "Oh god." She squeaked, eyes wide with horror. Before she could have a meltdown the elevator doors opened revealing a welcome face. "There's no use infecting him with your panic. Just wait until the meeting." Forcing a small smile on her lips she shared a rather anxious filled look with Mac before rushing over to hug her long-time friend. Throwing her arms around the taller man's neck she greeted him with a cheerful, "Levi!" He squeezed her back, before setting his sights on Mac. "Hey, Boy Wonder, what's so important you couldn't tell my dad? You know, the guy who actually works for you?"

She knew that he disliked being at Stark Towers, thus why when they hung out it was often at his small apartment. Mac was spared further pitying questions as more kids began flowing into the room, though Levi seemed thoroughly annoyed. It wasn't anything new- the Winter Soldier's son always hated being around the tower. So she wasn't surprised when he got snippy with Mac. Glancing over at her brother who looked agitated with everyone felt a bit overwrought. Kids were clamoring, asking what was wrong so instead of overwhelming Mac she fell quiet. Levi seemed to be on edge as his fingers drummed against his thigh, the dull thud they were making nearly inaudible. She picked out Iron Man's daughter, though that was about it. There was a slight looking brunette kid, no older than thirteen, who'd arrived with a muscular blond."The blond is probably Thor's... They look alike." She thought, a small frown pursing her lips. She was beginning to wish that she was a little more social with the other kids. Athena instead crossed her arms, foot tapping sporadically against the floor. Unable to hold in in anymore she finally spat out, "Mac, where is dad?" That normal playful, silky tone was gone- replaced by a dark and gravely tone of voice. No longer was Thea able to patiently wait to hear what Mac wanted to say. She was scared, confused, and really just wanted the pain of waiting to be over with.

he rubbed the back of his neck. Boy Wonder, Boy Scout, he wanted to make a joke about how they should come up with superhero names with names like thought, but he could barely even muster a smile. he looked over at his sister as she asked where their father was. he figured he would just tell everyone now.

"that's why i have called you all here." he as he kept scanning the room. he took in a deep breath. "the avengers are dead." he said his face completely serious.

"bacchus." the small boy grumbled. "i am fine as you can clearly tell. will you let go of me now, oh dear cousin?" he said the last three words with dripping sarcasm.

niklaus didn't mind his cousin he just didn't like people touching him or talking to him or really being near him. okay, maybe he didn't like his cousin all that much. he just acted like he did.

klaus looked at this kid as he spoke. this kid wasn't the oldest here, but he acted like he was. he acted like some unofficial leader. maybe he was the leader, he didn't really know, nor did he really care. klaus almost seemed to smile at the words, 'the avengers are dead'. "who killed them?" niklaus asked. he was actually curious, he really didn't have a clue.

  • Leon turned at the sound of Mac's voice. And the words hit him with a sharp pain. The Avengers were dead? His Dad was dead? Leon didn't know how to react. Anger? Fear? Sorrow? His father was dead, and if he was dead he could be next. And then Loki. His Dad had told him about Loki. Loki was the evil brother of Thor. He had caused so much trouble for his Dad and the rest of the Avengers. Leon's face started turning red in anger. But he would need to control himself so he didn't become like the Hulk. He didn't think the other students would like that very much. Leon breathed out a deep breath, trying to hold himself together.

Tristan was still mad at Trisha, who had started telling a story. "Then I stared at it, wondering what kind of dog was it. I then picked it up, and went home to find out. My mother asked where the dog came from, and I told her 'It came from its mother.' She seemed very annoyed when I told her. I asked can we keep him, and she said no. I then began to stand there and stare at her, and she walked off. When she came back, I was still there. I stood there for a full 45 minutes, but then she gave in. That's how I got my puppy Sticks." She finshed up the story of how she got her dog, and Tristan wondered how that story even came up. "Cool, I guess." He responded looking at Mackenzie and Tanner to see how they responded. • Bacchus
Bacchus ignored his cousin's complaints. He loved his cousin with all of his heart and saw only good in him. Or he wanted to believe so. He would still love his cousin, even if he was bad. He looked at Mac and hearing the Avengers were dead caused tears to well up in his eyes. Hearing it was caused by Loki made him give a wary glance to Nicklaus. He just shook his head and squeezed his eyes tightly to stop his crying. His sadness was quickly replaced by anger and he picked his hammer, Jyione up and slammed it against the ground, nearly breaking the floor, he was sobbing as he did so.

    Jackson Stark/Titanium Bane
Jackson's face of anger was soon twisted into a face of pain and anguish. "But....Dad still didn't see my suit...He was going to be proud of me..." He whispered, sadness dripping from his voice. He cried a bit before he got mad. "You're lying!" He screamed then walked over and grabbed Mac by the collar. "Is this some sick joke?!" He didn't want to believe it.

  • Leon was surprised he didn't think the same thing. But something told him he wasn't lying. Leon could feel the anger and sadness in the room, and Leon was barely holding it together. Did his mom know about this? How would see take the news? Probably better than him, if she didn't know already. Lean clenched his fists and yelled out, "How are we going to stop him?" to mac. He wanted revenge, and now.

The tension was so thick in the room that Levi felt like he could choke on it. 'Thea was pretty much hyperventilating next to him, and trying to comfort her put his arm around her shoulder. Giving her a gentle squeeze to let her know everything was fine he couldn't help but feel a stir of pity for her. The blonde had a hard life growing up, her mom treated her like a means to an end, and when Steve had taken her in she knew what it was like to have a family. The two were really close and Levi nervously ran his tongue over his teeth, wondering what the hell was going on. More and more kids he hardly knew or briefly met had piled into the room. "He wasn't kidding when he said he called everyone. Keeping his gaze apathetic and even Lee glanced around trying to place names to faces.

He didn't know really any of the Avenger's children; nor did they know him. He, like his father in that sense, was a ghost. He hated being associated with them, not out of spite but simply determination. Levi wanted to know that his accomplishments were his own; and not that he was the shadow of his father. He could pick out Tony's kids, the blonde girl and the boy that had his eyes; but other than that he had no idea. The blond that carried himself like the infamous Thor was likely his son; though the wraith-like boy next to him looked like no one. They were likely siblings though as they'd arrived together. They seemed to teeter between being distressed as Thea was, and simply figuring this was just a run of the mill SHIELD needs something meeting. Levi was beginning to share in Athena's distress as Mac squirmed beneath his sister's gaze.

Glancing over at his friend, he noted how distressed she looked, and finally she demanded of her brother, "Mac, where is dad?" The normal innocent voice was nowhere to be found her in voice, and that honey-sweet and melodic tone was replaced with something desperate and cold. Trying to comfort her Levi put his arm around Athena, squeezing her shoulder to let her know that everything would be ok. Or so he hoped. Mac averted his gaze, rubbing the back of his neck- a telltale sign that something was up. Hoping it wasn't serious, perhaps their parents were injured or lost Levi's gaze darkened as he watched the blond open his mouth to explain. "That's why I called you all here today." Levi's gaze met his as he spoke, dark brown crashing on deep Aegean blues. Beside him Athena sucked in her breath, and the other kids quieted as Mac continued. "The Avengers are dead."

For a moment Levi couldn't process what Cadet had just said; instead his mind spluttering to a stop. Dead? His... His father? No, it had to be a mistake. It felt like time was frozen and beside him Athena let out a soft gasp that sounded like a wet sob. This wasn't right. Before Bucky had left he and Levi had spent the day together, made plans to go camping- Bucky had promised to come see his band at an upcoming gig. James was supposed to watch him grow up. To get a house out in the suburbs; he was supposed to play with his grandchildren and... Numbness overtook Levi as he struggled to remain composed. A few other kids were tearing up, protesting but the olive-skinned man simply stood there as if time was frozen. It was Athena burying her face into his shoulder that made his brain kickstart again.

"You're lying" He spat at Mac, clenching his fist with rage. His chest heaved with labored breathing as Lee clearly refused to accept this as truth. "They can't be dead. They're Earth's mightiest heroes. Loki or no Loki." A vague image at the mention of the Norse God of a serpentine like man with cruel green eyes flooded his brain; though Levi pushed it away. His stomach twisted with a dark anger while Athena stood beside him. He had half a mind to lash out, to physically make Mac concede this was a lie, a f*cking fallacy that he made up to try to rally them together. However, Jackson beat him to it. He watched as Tony's kid strode over, his strides long and furious. The kids were dissenting into chaos quickly. While Athena cried, Jackson went after mac, another boy shouted about how would they stop Loki. That was it. That was Levi's line. He never wanted this life, he never wanted to fight. If he wanted to fight, these kids would all have to be on the same page; and right now they were about as together as individual pieces of sand scattered throughout the world.

His father never wanted this life for him either; and Levi swore that he wouldn't join any sort of crime squad. That didn't mean he couldn't extract revenge. Shaking himself away from Athena he motioned for her to take care of Jackson and Mac. He would work on the rest. "Enough!" Shouting so his normally sweet-tempered voice carried over the crowd he glared at the assembled kids. "Lie or not Loki is around. I... We have to accept what Mac has told us. Yet what are you doing? Throwing a tantrum like children. You-" He turned to fix the kid who had exploded about revenge with a scathing look. "You talk about revenge but where do you start? Who are we kidding? We are not our parents. I don't know the first thing about half of you; and I'm sure as hell not going to lay my life down on the line to charge in after a God halfassed."

These kids needed a leader, someone who could logically think about things. "Do you think this is how they would want us to react? By going after each other?" Glaring now at Jackson the man crossed his muscular arms. "I understand you guys want to go after him, Loki. But we are nowhere near being ready. I mean we got Jackson going after Mac; not to mention we're about as organized as a dementia patient." They needed a dose of reality, as harsh as it was. "Mac, what do you know. Do you have any idea about what mission they were on? Are the X-men around? Do they have any information? How are you sure it's Loki. Think, before acting." Levi lectured, refusing to allow himself to grieve. There would be plenty of time for that later- but all he could think about now was avenging his father, his uncle; and they needed somewhere to start.
