"Come on, don't be like this..." Jay said, somewhat defeatedly.

Mei turned away from him, going to get dressed, and otherwise not speaking.
-
"Hey, come on. I wanna show you something. Walk with me?" Jay asked.
-
Mei was pulling a shirt over her head when she spoke, and she turned around to look at him, her gaze confused, but she nodded.
-
Jay smiled. "Do you remember the cave, perhaps? We're going that way."
-
"What's in there?"
-
"Well, I have a show for you, let's say." Jay replied with a smile. He slipped on his usual jacket and opened the door, bracing himself against the cold and rain. "Not the best of weather situations, but the rain will make the cave sound a lot better."
-
Mei flinched against the rain, much rather preferring a drier climate. She pulled her windbreaker on, slipping the hood over her head. "Okay.. show me?"
-
Jay smiled, gladly taking her hand and sprinting through the rain with Mei in tow as he made his way through the forest. They were soon at the base of one of the island's mountains, before a large crack in the mountain that served as a cave.
-
Mei looked at the gaping entrance with large eyes. Her hair was wet from the rain, her small, already cool form shivering. "What..? What's in here..?"
-
"Why don't you wait and see?" Jay asked with smile, pulling her into the cave slowly. "I wouldn't do anything to hurt or scare you, promise."
-
Mei simply followed, trusting his words as she held his hand tightly. "Okay.. I believe you."
-
Weeks passed, and both Jay and Mei trained endlessly in preparation for exposure to the regions. Mei had come into touch with Naomi, becoming quiet and level-headed and possessing a deadly calm. Of course, around Jay, she was sweet and talkative and caring, but she was merciless around Xaffias, and especially Esmae. More than once, she attempted to pin that stupid little girl to the wall and smash her skull inside out. It took both Xaffias and Jay to drag her off the little thing.
Mei sat outside on the ground, looking up at the first pale signs of dawn. Today was the day. Today, she, Jay, Xaffias, and Esmae woukd be leaving their island sanctuary. They would not return, unless they succeeded in overthrowing the government that restricted life alogside Pokemon. Mei was not afraid. She was ready to finish what had begun long ago.
-
Jay stretched his arms out and popped his knuckles as he stepped outside with Xaffias. "Do you have any contacts in Kalos?" He asked, crossing his arms as he looked to his friend.
"I do indeed. I'll contact them as soon as we get to this rendezvous point that they've set up." Xaffias replied. "This will be a tough fight, but I think we have them outnumbered. We have a real chance."
-
Mei listened to them as they came outside, but said nothing, and otherwise did nothing to acknowledge their presence.
-
Jay smiled and wrapped his arms around Mei, lifting her off her feet. "How's my lovely wife doing, eh?"
-
Mei let out a nervous laugh, flashing a grin as she returned the embrace. Her feet dangled limply in the air as Jay held her up. "I'm good... I'm ready to do this.."
-
Jay pecked her on the lips, giving her a good squeeze before setting her down. "Good, I am too... This has been a long time coming, hasn't it?"
-
Mei nodded, not letting go, even though he set her back on her feet. She savored his feel for a bit, ingrained the sensation in her mind. She couldn't forget this, wouldn't forget this.
-
"Do we have everything ready? If not, we may not get a secknd chance at this."
