"Well, it was." Mei took another sip of tea, leaning onto Jay's shoulder. Tami eventually appeared, curling up on Mei's lap and making her shiver slightly.

"As long as we're here, I wanted to give you something that I found a few weeks ago." Jay said.
-
Mei turned to look at Jay, a sudden curiosity glinting in her gaze. "Hm? What's that?"
-
Jay reached into his pocket and pulled something out, extending the hand out to Mei. "It took a long time to find, but it was worth it, I'd say." He said, revealing the pearl.
-
Mei was silent for a moment, before she quickly placed the tea in the arm of the chair as her hands covered her gaping mouth. "This is the one..?!"
-
"Yeah, it is." Jay said with a small smile.
-
Wasn't a pearl involved when they were trapped on the Island?
-
OOC: now that I think about it, yeah, there was. I almost forgot about it, really. I'll edit my last post
-
Mei's face didn't change a bit. "How do you know? How did you find this? Holy crap, Jay..."
-
"It took a long time, I'll tell you that. But, like I said, it was all worth it."
-
Mei took it from his hand slowly, eyes still wide. "... I can't believe you did this.."
-
Jay shook his head. "Don't worry about it. I was happy to look for it."
-
Mei held the ring up to the light, looking at it in awe. "I know, but, how was it even possible...?"
-
"I'm not sure myself, but maybe when that place detonated, it landed nearby? And it washed up on the beach, maybe? Either way, it's miraculous."
-
Mei lower the pearl so it was in both hands, and she just sat in silence, eyes fixated on the priceless memento.
-
Jay simply smiled at her, then turned his gaze back out to the horizon.
-
After a few moments of silence, she finally said, "I can't believe you did this. I - I mean, I still can't get over it."
-
Jay shrugged. "I can hardly believe it myself, and I found it."
-
Clasping it in her hand, Mei turned to face Jay once more. "I just kind of realized. .. What little I've done for you."
-
Jay shook his head. "No, don't think that way, please? You've done so much for me just by being here."
