Margret laughed, then just kept walking because she wasn't about to let a demon go.
Marcus growled, then shifted into a crow, the third form he was able to use. He flew to Takeo and .anded on his shoulder.
Margret laughed, then just kept walking because she wasn't about to let a demon go.
Marcus growled, then shifted into a crow, the third form he was able to use. He flew to Takeo and .anded on his shoulder.
[align=center][font=georgia]the talons digging into takeo's shoulder weren't the most comfortable, but he could deal with it. he started to run, straight for the exit. he focused his gaze on the door, nimbly stepping past the various wards scattered around, so that marcus wouldn't get trapped.
Marcus gripped a little harder when the other started running. Not wanting to fall off. He ducked close to Takeos head when a gunshot rang, the bullet zipping right past Marcus' head.
[align=center][font=georgia]"sh.t!" takeo hissed as bullets started to fly. he ducked to avoid one aimed for his head. when they got to the door, he yanked it open, not bothering to shut it as he sprinted out. their headquarters was nothing more than a house in the woods, albeit a skillfully hidden one. you couldn't find it until you were almost directly in front of it.
he started to run in the direction of the city, not stopping to get in the car - he had left the keys inside in his haste. it wasn't that far of a run, anyways, though he was starting to wish he hadn't worn his binder. it was making it extremely hard to breathe.
Marcus jumped off, then change into a wolf to run beside Takeo, keeping with him.
[align=center][font=georgia]after a while of running, takeo slowed to a jog, and then finally a walk. his breathing was starting to get wheezy, and each breath hurt. he wasn't sure whether it was exclusively his binder, or the fact that he had just run what was probably a couple miles, but he'd risk injuring himself if he tried to continue running. he glanced at marcus. "my name is takeo, by the way." he added quietly.
Marcus looked at Takeo, then shifted into his regular form, ears flat against his head. "Why did you let me go...? You risked your career for me.. A demon?"
[align=center][font=georgia]takeo glared at marcus for a moment, then sighed, tilting his head up to look at the sky. it had been fairly dark when he had first fought marcus, but now it was starting to turn sort of pinkish. the crisp air felt nice to breathe in. "i... don't really know. i guess it's because... i don't really think you deserve to die?" he glanced at the shifter, then added, "if you turn out to be a liar, i'll kill you on the spot."
Marcus nodded once. "You won't.. I'm not a liar.. Thank you though, Takeo.. For sparing me.. I don't know if I could ever repay you for that..."
[align=center][font=georgia]a new home would be nice, takeo thought to himself, though he didn't say it out loud. "so, where do you live?" he asked, making an attempt at conversation. "i mean, you've gotta have some sort of place to stay, right?"
Marcus nodded. "I live in town, not too far from here." He said, looking at him. "I.. I guess you could stay with me? You probably need a place... My grandmother owned the house and gave it to me just before a bunch of hunters killed her..."
[align=center][font=georgia]"i'm, ah, sorry about your grandmother..." takeo murmured awkwardly. though he wasn't sure if he if was the hunter who had killed her - there were plenty of other hunters around, after all - he still felt the need to say something. "you'd really let me stay with you?" he inquired suspiciously, turning his head so that his deep blue optics met marcus's own amber ones. "after.." he waved his hand in the direction of the headquarters. "after all that?"
Marcus nodded once. "You freed me.. And you just lost everything you had do so. So, yes. I would be willing to allow you my home as long as we stay on a friendly basis." He said, turning a corner to walk down another road.
[align=center][font=georgia]takeo almost pointed out that he was the one who had caused all that in the first place, but he decided against it. "thanks." he murmured, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his hoodie. he wasn't entirely convinced that this was the best idea, but this entire thing was his own fault.
he was starting to realize the seriousness of this situation, though. what the h.ll did i just do?! he hadn't really thought it through before, doing everything on instinct, and he was starting to regret that. he'd have plenty of time to think about it, too, walking alongside the demon he had just freed.
Marcus got to his house, and unlocked the door. "Here, I have a guest bedroom that never gets used. I uh... Don't have any food since I uh.. don't eat food, but if you need to eat I can go pick up some." He said, walking in and inhaling the scent of the nice air fresheners he had around.
[align=center][font=georgia]well, it wasn't exactly the place takeo had been expecting. it was much... nicer. it smelled pretty, too. "i don't really know if i can stomach any food right now..." he said softly, running one hand through his hair. he looked around, absently patting his bag. he was glad that he had it now - he usually carried it with him. there was nothing much in it - a spare sports bra, some gum, candy, a spare knife, etc. "where's the bathroom?" he asked. he planned on changing into the spare bra. aside from the difficulty in breathing, the binder was also starting to chafe.
Marcus nodded and pointed to the hall. "First door to the left." He said, moving to go down the hall and to his room for a moment.
[align=center][font=georgia]takeo nodded, mumbling a "thanks" and entering the room marcus had pointed out. he shut and locked the door behind him, opening his bag and changing quickly. he gave a few good coughs as he checked for bruises. though there were a few, they appeared to be more from the fight than from the binder. he slipped the bra on, followed by the shirt and his hoodie.
after leaving the room, hoping the change hadn't been too noticeable, he started to explore the house a bit. once he found the living room, he sat down on the couch, hoping to watch tv. "do you have cable?" he called out, struggling to make his voice both deep and loud enough to hear.
Marcus came back out a little after, wearing clean clothes. "I do." He said, taking note that the voice he heard sound a little higher than that of the typical male. He came into the living room and handed Takeo the remote. "Here, You can watch anything you like, I'm going to fix up the guest room."
[align=center][font=georgia]"alright, thanks." takeo said, turning on the tv and flipping to reruns of a show he used to watch. he hadn't, recently - not since he had gotten into hunting - but he decided to catch up on it now. it reminded him of old times, like when he had watched it with his sister-
-abruptly, he winced, changing the channel to a different show. he didn't want to think about her right now. even if it had been a year since her death.
