  • [align=center][font=georgia]"i don't know. just..." takeo paced, running one hand through his light-colored hair. "just gimme a moment to think, alright?" he turned and gave marcus a pained look for a moment. he really didn't want to do this. he sighed again, moving towards the door. he opened it, peering outside.

he turned and walked back in, pulling out his knife. he slashed at the ropes binding marcus, then used the toe of his foot to smudge the sigil the chair sat in. "there. the path's clear, at least for the moment. go. before i change my mind." he turned his back, staring at the wall. "i'll tell them i burned your body, or something."

  • Marcus stared for a moment. "Wha.... What? Why..?" He asked, then shook his head and moved to run off. He turned a few corners, then ran into some really huge hunter guy. His ears flattened again and he was pinned against the wall with a hand at his throat. The poor shifter grabbed at the hand and whined out in pain,

  • [align=center][font=georgia]takeo waited a couple minutes, convincing himself he didn't care, before shaking his head to himself and taking off. marcus was so... if one of the other hunters was awake, he wouldn't last a minute. he sighed to himself, following the path he had seen the other boy take. he froze when he saw one of the other hunters pinning him to the wall. marcus was grabbing desperately at the hand, but it didn't help at all - at least, not visibly. "let go of him."

  • the other hunter shook his head, tightening the hand and pressing a silver blade into his neck. "h3ll no, this is a demon. I'm about to kill him for being in here."

Marcus whimpered and tried to pull away.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]"come on, don't be like this." takeo moved forward, grabbing the hand with the blade and attempting to pull it away. "look, he hasn't done anything wrong. just let him go, and let him be on his merry little way."

  • The guy grunted and looked at Takeo. "Why? He's a demon. I'm not letting him go." He said, gripping his throat tighter as the demon struggled in his grip.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]"like i said, he hasn't done anything wrong." takeo insisted. he pulled out his knife, waving it in a vaguely threatening manner. "let's be civilized about this."

  • [align=center][font=georgia]"she doesn't have to know."their boss scared takeo, anyways. "we can just tell her the body was burned."

  • The man snorted. "Ha. No. I'm not lying to her. She's hard enough to deal with as it is." He pulled the demon off the wall. "I don't know what your deal is, but stop being stupid. We kill monsters."

Marcus tugged at the hand, then suddenly shifted into a wolf and managed to knock the guy off befo running off.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]after glancing between the two, takeo darted after marcus. he'd find a way to explain to the others later, but for the moment, it was probably better to follow the demon. if anyone else was up, things would definitely get even harder.

  • Marcus panted, turning a corner and running face first into none other than the leader of the headquarters, who quickly tackled him and pressed a knife to his throat. "stop now, or die. Your choice, scum."

Marcus whined, the metal burning his skin.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]takeo let out a quiet groan when he saw the scene unfolding before him. the boss herself had a knife to marcus's throat. he was beginning to wonder if this was even worth it. he cleared his throat before speaking. "let's not be too hasty, boss." he contemplated using her real name, but that probably wouldn't end well.

  • the boss, whose name we will say is Margret, frowned. "Excuse me? I don't even see a mark on him, how'd he get away?" She asked, looking at Takeo.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]"i, uh..." takeo looked down, his cheeks dusted a faint red. he scratched the back of his neck, refusing to meet her gaze. "i may have let him go..."

  • Margret stood, holding the wolf by the scuff of the neck with the blade still pressed against him, "You what? You let him go? On what grounds. We aren't some shelter. We kill... Do it. Kill him now, Or so help me, God." She muttered, basically throwing the wolf down in front of the other.

Marcus looked up at Takeo, whined, and then closed his eyes to take what he supposed he had coming.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]takeo flinched as marcus landed with a thud in front of him. he looked down at the wolf, biting his lip as he raised the knife. he could do this. he had to. he looked away as he brought it down.

he froze. the knife lingered above marcus for a few seconds before he raised it once more. his voice came out stronger than expected when he spoke. "i'm sorry. i can't."

  • Marcus looked up at that, then at the boss lady.

Margret frowned, then grabbed the wolf and pulled him up. "then get out. now." she said, moving to tug Marcus away to be really torqued because. He had to be lying. Demons aren't innocent. Never.

  • [align=center][font=georgia]"not without him." takeo said, stepping forward. he had risked this much for marcus already - if he was going to lose his home in the process, then he wanted the demon to at least be safe.
