It was through a mutual bond between the female and her mate left their respective homes, calling all who wished to be free of their loyalties being questioned or ridiculed for trivial matters to join them. It was within the year that the group went through changes, becoming The Horde under Midnight's darkening rule on the 22nd of November, 2011. Moving to the northern border of Shadowclan, the female wished to be revered, naming her gender one to be favoured over all others and punishing all those who opposed. She wished to have her anti-clan on the same level as the infamous Elite - a decision that would ultimately lead to her destruction.

It would be many moons until the Horde's name would be spoken again, but on the 15th of July, 2015, a group would place focus on it once more. Deities of an unnamed origin would gather, unhappy with the way clans and anti-clans alike had been run. It would be upon this council with one another that each would decide it was time for a change throughout the realm - but it was left to deciding on how such a change would be enacted. It was not long before they looked to the Horde's lost name to be brought back, Midnight's legacy erased to bring fourth a new era in which equality among its members would be shown clearly. They had grown tired of seeing cliques, of the hierarchy drowning in their own power while other members were left in the flood with no boat.

The "Big Move" Midnight had so prayed for would become a truth at this time, however, though it would not so much be the clan moving to a new territory as it would be the very idea shaken from its roots. It was with high hopes that the deities placed their faith in one, a jackal named Nasus, to be enlightened to the rebirthing of the anti-clan. They would mold him over time, a wanderer in the desert from birth who would stumble upon a grand pyramid that would one day be the very home of The Horde. His ideals would be of a different kind, one from his own manifesto, spreading an equality among his comrades to rid them of the harsh and unfair terms of the other clans or tribes. No longer would they be held down by ranks, nor would they be ignored for the efforts they gave.

[fancypost bgcolor=#2B3C46;border:0px;font-size:7pt;overflow: auto; height:190px;width:474px;font-family:times new romanl;line-height:20px;margin-top:-8px;text-align:justify][b]⊰ The Horde dwell in a mighty desert, of which they have named Kehjistan, inside the ruins of an old city that holds a great pyramid within. Inside the outer walls are the hunting grounds, a small range of sand dunes, and an oasis from which they get their herbs and water. As for the inner wall of the city, it contains the pyramid's entrance and the market area where slaves and farmers reside.

The pyramid itself is the true Horde headquarters, although invaders would first believe this to be the small village that is found inside the inner wall, making it that much safer for the members. As with any pyramid, theirs is fit with plentiful traps and fake tunnels just in case invaders actually manage to make it inside. Within is the Horde's main camp, where those without high positions live (though if they find an empty tomb through a tunnel, they are more than welcome to make it their room). Through other tunnels - which all Horde members will learn to memorize by birth so they do not end up in a trap - will be the rooms for those with titles. Through a secret entrance, one may find themselves on the way to the prison chamber, which is under the pyramid so hide prisoners better. From this entrance is also the pathway to the hidden tunnels.

The hidden tunnels are a vital part of the Horde, providing them pathways to walk during the daytime heat and a hidden chamber for refuge and weapon storage. These tunnels exit out in numerous places within the camp walls, and even to the desert. They are connected to the oasis as well, so that bringing back water is not a chore - which is also stored partially in the tunnels.

They are in charge of running the show, and their word is law. They have the power to promote and demote if they see fit, though this is only to be brought across with proper proof that one deserves their new ranks - lower or higher. Disrespecting a war chief can lead to a number of penalties, depending on the severity of the crime, but will most always result in a beating.
Current Chief; Nasus, played by ♑ terminallyCapricious ♑

CHIEFTAIN; One step down from the chief, the chieftain is who will take the throne upon the chief's death or retirement. Chosen by the shaman under rule of divine right, this is another position of great respect - though can not escape punishment under any circumstances if they do something wrong. They can preform ceremonies, but should first check with the chief (though this is not mandatory; they're learning to rule, after all)
Current Chieftain; Buddy, played by robin?

SHAMAN; The healer and religious leader of The Horde, in charge of keeping the members happy and healthy throughout their days, though their work is not limited to healing alone. They are regarded as having access to, and influence in, the world of good and evil spirits, and are in charge of all sacrifices, marriages, or other religious rituals. Typically, they will enter a trance state during a ritual. Apart from their practices in divination, they are to train the Witch Doctors, who also practice healing.
Current shaman; Shax Haagenti, played by Moria ☭

WITCH DOCTOR; The Shaman's assistant, they are learning to reach spiritual enlightenment and/or become a full healer. Once this enlightenment has come, they can begin full training to become the Shaman upon his/her death or retirement. Until then, they simply heal without much religious involvement, though can preform small blessings upon request (ex. before a battle in terms of magical protection).
Current Witch Doctor; Nemo, played by ★Ѧ¢ε★

WAR CHIEF; The War Chief is simply the vice deputy of the group, and is an elite officer in charge of the Secret Police. Chosen by the Chieftain, they are in charge of keeping track of events, raids, or other important affairs going on within the Horde. They are given the job to train their comrades in fighting - and this does not mean solely the Secret Police, but the rest of the Horde as well - and recruit members into their unit of militia.
Current War Chief; Chibuzo Afolabi, played by Lᴏʙᴏᴛᴏ-ᴍᴜᴛᴛ

SECRET POLICE; A semi-HP, these members are directly under the War Chief, and are in charge of keeping The Horde in line and safe. They are the warriors whom earned a place above the rest from being active and respectful. The Secret Police are the main enforcers of the law, and will punish those who go against the higher positions - even if they are one themselves (i.e. a shaman stealing from the chieftain or vice versa). No title protects someone from punishment, and even the SP can be subject to this rule. They are the main event holders, and provide information and/or ideas to the War Chief about them. Five members is the limit.
Current Secret Police; Glitch, played by вeyond ιmagιnatιon

THE VOICE; The basic workforce of The Horde, acting as the basic warriors and protectors. They are in charge of the lesser tasks of the group, of which are offered to them likely the Chief, Chieftain, or War Chief. They should do this without question, or risk a possible punishment. They can start raids at any time and offer ideas to the Secret Police involving events or ways to better the clan as a whole. Must prove themselves This position makes up the bulk of the group and is thus unlimited, so listing members under this title is not necessary.

UCHENIK; The apprentices, aged from 3-10 moons usually, that are training to become a voice. They must go through rigorous training to become expert fighters and hunters. They may leave the temple unattended, as long as they do not go passed the territory walls, and may join raids without their mentor if they wish. On the battlefield, they are to be regarded as an equal rather than being babied - they put themselves into the position and they will have to find their way out of it. In order to become a voice, the uchenik must pass a test at the end of their apprenticeship which involves their being dropped into the middle of the desert and being tasked with finding their way home by means of survival to prove they retained knowledge from their training. This is an unlimited position.

YOUNG; The young are, of course, the children of the Horde, and are those whom have not yet started their training. Leaving the temple without an adult is frowned upon, as the desert heat is not kind and birds of prey target them for food, but it is not forbidden. They cannot go on raids, but may be taught small fighting and hunting techniques if the mentor allows it. This is an unlimited position.

WORTHY; The elderly and queens of the clan. They may attend raids and/or patrols only if they are feeling up to it, but if the Shaman or Witch Doctor rules them unfit to go, they must stay in the temple. This is an unlimited position.

FARMERS AND SLAVES; Usually prisoners of war or those suffering punishment (either temporarily or permanently), these members have no position in the social ranking of The Horde. If they wish to join the ranks, they must prove their loyalties after speaking to one of the higher positions. Those in positions of power may ignore them at first (and can do this without penalty), due to their being the lowest of the lows, but if need the Chief can be asked first hand without fear of being ignored. The Chief caters to all of its subjects needs, and counts even those at the bottom of the food chain. These members DO NOT live in the pyramid, but instead must live within the market area. Slaves are given a designated area where they are to grow herbs either for the Shaman or to sell to merchants who may be working there, while the farmers are sent to grow crops and tend to crops in the oasis during the day. Unlimited.

PRISONERS; Have even less rights than slaves; live under the temple in the prison chamber and are brought their blindfolded so they do not know the passageways. Bigger creatures are placed in the monster cells. They can become slaves if a member of the Horde wishes to have one. Unlimited.

[fancypost bgcolor=#2B3C46;border:0px;font-size:7pt;overflow: auto; height:190px;width:474px;font-family:times new roman;line-height:20px;margin-top:-8px;text-align:justify][b]⊰ Religion, in regards to the Horde, is a rather odd subject. With shamans and witch doctors, it is evident that religion is very alive in the anti-clan. This does not, however, mean that it is mandatory, though having other religions is frowned upon (more so than having no religion at all). Outward disrespect towards ones religion, however, is a punishable offence, as such opinions are best kept to oneself. This is especially true in regards to the Shamans and Witch Doctors.

--While most would consider this a religion, those in The Horde do not usually regard it as such, and instead name their practices to be an experience tying body and soul together. --

With variations of West African and Haitian Vodun mixing in with shamanism, the Horde hold steady to their belief in the more magical end of reasoning with the cosmology of things. Patterns of worship follow various spirits, practices, songs, and rituals. A divine Creator, called variously Maujī is a feminine being who councils with the Loa, spirits who gave each rule over a realm of nature - animals, earth, and the sky. Maujī, however, has been named to be unreachable by normal means, only accessible if she chooses to be, and usually only communicates such rare visits through the Shaman.

Since Maujī is considered unreachable, the members of The Horde aim their prayers to lesser entities, the spirits known as loa, or mistè. They are each distinct beings with their own personal likes and dislikes, and are to be respected just the same as Maujī. The most notable loa include Zuharā, Rasātala, and Jhūṭha, and it is these three that the Horde communicate with the most, each member having the choice of an idol depicting the loa's likeness upon becoming a voice. This does not affect their social standing, but simply decides in all of their future rituals, as each has their own distinct sacred rhythms, songs, dances, ritual symbols, etc.

As such the loa are also associated with the surnames that a Horde member can choose to take on. Taking on the surnames are not mandatory upon choosing your loa, but are happily accepted and suggested. The families are Kalfu, Petro, and Ghede. Zuharā is one of the Kalfu sort, being a spirit in charge of the crossroads and has the power to grant or deny access to all other Loa, or spirits, and he allows the "crossing" of bad luck, deliberate destruction, misfortune, and injustices. Rasātala is a Petro loa, being a generally more fiery, occasionally aggressive and warlike loa. Lastly is one of the Ghede sort, Jhūṭha, whom is a spirit of death and fertility. The Ghede as a family are loud, sexual, and usually a lot of fun.

All creation is considered divine and therefore contains the power of the divine. This is how medicines such as herbal remedies are understood, and explains the ubiquitous use of mundane objects as talismans in religious rituals. Vodun talismans are objects such as statues or dried animal parts that are offered to members for their healing and spiritually rejuvenating properties the Witch Doctor and Shaman.

A belief in reincarnation is further addressed in the traditional aspect of Horde living below.
    [/fancypost]

    [fancypost bgcolor=#2B3C46;border:0px;width:146px; font-family: andale mono;font-size: 15pt;letter-spacing:-1pt;border-radius: 3em 0em 0em 0em;margin-right:8px; text-align: right][b]traditions ♚[/fancypost]
[fancypost bgcolor=#2B3C46;border:0px;font-size:7pt;overflow: auto; height:190px;width:474px;font-family:times new romanl;line-height:20px;margin-top:-8px;text-align:justify][b]⊰ The Horde is one with many traditional elements melding together, and much of which is in regards to the religious structure of things.

--The Horde's moral code focuses on the vices of dishonor and greed. There is also a notion of relative propriety - and what is appropriate to someone with Zuharā as their loa may be different from someone with Jhūṭha as their loa. Love and support within the family of the Vodou society seem to be the most important considerations, however, no matter the family they are associated with. Generosity in giving to the community and to the poor is also an important value - one's blessings come through the community, and one should be willing to give back appropriately. --

    [b]HOLIDAYS
There are plenty of Holidays that span across the Horde's year, including those of normal stature such as Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's, New Years, etc. One, however, is more secular to their beliefs, surrounding mostly the Ghede family, but is celebrated by all in the Horde (even those who are not religious). This is known as the "Festival of the Dead," and is on All Hallow's Eve each year to celebrate those whom have died for the lives they led.

The practitioners of Vodou in the Horde revere death, and believe it to be a great transition from one life to another, or to the afterlife. It is believed that a creature’s spirit leaves the body, but is trapped in water, over mountains, in grottoes, or anywhere else a voice may call out and echo for a span of one full year and one day. After this period, there is a ceremonial celebration to commemorate the deceased for being released into the world to "live again".

    MUMMIFICATION
The death of a member of the Horde or otherwise respected creature will undergo the process of mummification. The organs are removed from the body excluding the heart, and bodies are wrapped in large leaves and vines found in the oasis. Herbs can be used for both decoration and to mask the scent of death, as well as preservation. Those of high positions are buried with expensive objects and trinkets, but members of lower title can as well if their families offer them to the Shaman or Witch Doctor upon burial.

    SOCIETAL TRADITIONS
As the Horde becomes anew, it is evident that old traditions of hierarchy are to be abolished, replaced with those showing a tone of true enlightenment. The belief that all are equal under the eyes of the Creator is held strong and does not falter. The rankings are simply placed to keep the peace and reward those whom deserve such titles for their activity or overall assistance in the clan's growth. Punishments are to befit the crime, and are not solely for regular members, but for ALL of those in The Horde. High positions cannot escape punishment of any kind, no matter how high in the chain of command they are - even the Chief must accept the consequences for his/her actions.
