Maria sighed "Then yes...I would come with you"She said quietly. She didn't like seeing him hurt but he had hurt her a lot more.

Anthony nodded slowly before turning to where his subjects could hear him. "I am not fit to be king. You deserve someone better as your sovereign. That is why I hereby appoint the secretary to be the next King of our kind."

Maria was slightly surprised but knew he must love her and was being truthfull to give up his position.

His subjects shouted in approval and Anthony backed away. He was no longer a vampire king and his best friend was dead. He was unsure what to do now.

Maria hated how lost he looked. She gently took his hand in hers "Its ok, Im here"She said quietly "Maybe we should blend in now...Buy a house or something...get normal jobs"She suggested.

Anthony thought about it, "I don't think I can ever be normal", he mumbled.

"Then what do you want to do"Maria asked softly.

"We could work for the hunters", he suggested just loud enough for her to hear. "I could help train them to defend themselves against a vampire attack?"

Maria nodded "I should start training again...Im out of touch"She said quietly
"We could take you to one of safe houses. You could live there a while"A hunter smiled. -
Anthony nodded his head with a small smile, "Then let's do that. It will give us a sense of normally, but won't take me out of the world I need to survive." He was glad that they had reached a middle ground.

The hunter smiled and walked them to a car "here, instructions to get there. And a case of money to get you on your feet" Maria hugged her before getting the keys and getting in.

Anthony studied the car before getting in the car. He hadn't had to use one because of vampire's speed. He had gotten in hesitantly and was now looking around the inside as he sat there.

Maria started the car and started driving towards the house "time to get used to my world before you"she smirked slightly glad to be back to herself.

Anthony had gripped the arm rest in surprise and an audible snap could be heard. Anthony's eyes looked at the armrest apologetically. He moved his hand and half the arm rest fell off. "My bad", he muttered.

Maria laighed a bit as she drove. Once she got there she smiled and got out carrying the case she got the key and got inside. Placing the case on the table she scouted around "I grew up here"she mumbled

Anthony studied the house and looked around. It was smaller than he was used to but it had a certain charm about it. "I like it", he said with a comforting smile as she mentioned growing up here.

Maria smiled "Yeah..well theres blood packs in the fridge. Since Hunters don't allow you to feed like normal."She said as she went into the living room with the case. She slid a panel back and enetered a key code before opening up a weaponry closet, she put the money in the safe.

Anthony nodded but didn't go to the fridge. He wasn't feeling very hungry at the moment. He walked around the house and looked around.

Maria rubbed her eyes and yawned "Im off to bed"She said coldly before going upstairs.
