    Coming back from inside the store he had a few spots he was bleeding from. Some of his clothes had been torn, but he was still alive and well. Walking in the cafe he stretched and sat down at a table and ordered some coffee.

    He glanced back towards her and smiled a bit. "Got attacked by a mountain lion." He said shrugginv a bit as he rotated his shoulder which had a torn shirt and hoodie and that shoulder was bleeding. "Got some good money though."

    He looked down at the bills. "250." He said stretching and smiling a bit. "I'm going to go try and track one more down if I can." He said shrugging and glancing over at Max as he walked in.

    Max sat with them "Woah yiu guys did good"He said looking at the money before looking at Carter with one eyebrow raised but didn't question him. Alyssa yawned she was obvious a little tired from earlier and ran a hand through her hair "Yea..Well"she sighed

    Nodding he could tell Max was probably trying to figure out what happened. "Cougar hunting." He explained simply. It was no big deal at this point. He had worse injuries after just training so you learn to get over it.

    Max nodded "Well when you were risking your life I was picking..pocketing"He said quietly "I love being able to wipe memories. It's like I never did it"He smirked getting a glassnof water
    Alyssa smiled thinking it would be nice to forget a few things "Later, i need you to do something for me"She looked at max

    "What happened to getting a job?" He asked smilinv slightly. This was a pretty small town so the chances of him coming across a lot of money were unlikely. "Careful though you erase too much you just ruined a life seen it happen even in the control of a bright kid like you." He cautioned. "So what you do get all that?" With blank eyes turning back to Alyssa.

    Max nodded "Yeah don't worry I only wipe a few minutes so they are fine"He drank his cold water and looked at Alyssa when Carter asked. Alyssa sighed and didn't look anyone in the eye "I did what I had to do"she said quietly

    Carter loiked at her for a moment than nodded. "Hope it's worth it." Was all he said. He had his suspiciousions, but didn't say anything about it. Sipping his coffee he shrugged and leaned back in the chair. "This is a fairly good start, first we gotta deal with that leg." He said simply and sipped his coffee.

    Alyssa sighed glad there was no more questions she sipped her tea and glanced at max knowing he was trying to figure it out and she watched his face as he realised what she meant "You wont have to do that again, I got an interview in a couple days "He said in a low tone. Alyssa looked at her leg "Its fine, the pain is bareable"She replied simply

    He knew what they were speaking of and he shook his head. "Alyssa I know you think you're doing the right thing. But, you got money already and if you keep it up you could get arrested. They find your chip it will be a disaster." He muttered.

    "So what? I know what it's like to be in a cell. It will remind me of home"Alyssa stood up and put her money back in her pocket and walked out cooling down she went to the hotel and paid for their room.
    Max groaned "Well that went well. She's quite stubburn"He commented after reading her thoughts

    Sighing he shook his head. "Keep an eye on her. If she gets caught they can use that chip to find every single person who has a chip and round them up. It will be a new kind of hell." He had seen it what those chips were capable of doing. He laid a twenty on the table. "I'm heading back out." Carter said standing and stretching as he walked out rotating his shoulder.

    Even though he was walking away Cartee could hear the sobs and comforting words of Max. Shaking his head he kept walking. Thinking about Sarah she wanted him to be normal and be like he used to be. He forgot how he used to be and it had been many years since he saw that side of himself. Maybe he used to be weaker? Probably was. That was all he knew. Sighing he headed back towards the forest.

    Alyssa curled up "Am I that bad that I found it easy to do the wrong thing?"She asked through the tears Max held her tightly and sighed "You did what you had to do, I doubt it was easy to decide that though"

    Walking on he stopped being able to hear them and focused on tracking. Narrowing his eyes he couldn't see any energy trails, so he kept moving staying quiet as a mouse trying to find any other mountain lions. If he could find one more than they would have gotten five hundred bucks.
