    Thrushpaw nodded. "Well I mean, all I need is a little combat training and I can bring down a fox!" He stopped hopping now, trying to scent the air for prey.


    Dewfall had slipped back into the medicine den, placing the tansy back into the storage.

    Minnowtail followed, having to move more quickly than usual to keep up. As they moved further from the camp she attempted to take in all the smells that were around her.

    I smiled at the she-cat. At least one apprentice found humor in me. My paws drew in large bounds as I turned to face them from the front. "Make sure your brother gets some exercise, ok? I'm not giving him another lesson today." Being fairly straight-out, I gently flip the head fluff on Ashpaw's head as I walked past.

    Phoenixfire chuckled "more like a lifetime worth of training and then some" she said

    "K" Leafpaw said.
    Ashpaw looked at his sister with puppy dog eyes.
    "Go hunting and don't come back unless you have caught enough prey to last the clan for weeks!"
    Ashpaw slowly walked out of camp.

    Thrushpaw nodded. "Yeah yeah I'll get it eventually." He mewed, sniffing the air. "I think I smell a rabbit..." he said as he sniffed the air again.

    [font=monospace]Quickstep went to the medicine den. He did not say anything to Leafpaw who swiftly entered then left. He should have made her help him, but he wasn't going to take away time from her with her brother. He gently began to pull the berries off of the juniper shrub limb. His ears perked when Dewfall came into the den. He did not look at her, but he could see her from the corner of his eye as she put the tansy back. "Have you eaten?" He asked her, spitting out a needle.

    Dewfall's ears perked slightly when Quickstep spoke to her. She looked back slightly. "Oh...No I haven't. I took a vole to one of the warriors earlier, but the pile isn't as high as one would like. The warriors n-need more strength than me." And the apprentices as well. "I should be alright until they bring back more prey." She mewed carefully. "But if you're hungry...I can get you something." she added.


    Thrushpaw continued watching the bush. "Should I go after it or is that shrub gonna make too much noise?" he asked quietly.

    "I think it'll be ok if you're quiet enough but I'll go on the other side just in case it is too much noise" she said softly and made her way around

    [font=monospace]Quickstep turned his blank gaze on Dewfall when she began rambling. He didn't ask all of that. He just wanted to know if she'd eaten. He wanted to tell her that she needed the energy as well. She was just as important to the Clan as the warriors. After all, it was her that helped to keep them alive. Instead of saying any of that, he said, "We can share something."

    Dewfall may not have noticed she had been rambling. It was a nervous habit and the main reason she tried to stay quiet most of the time. But she nodded. "Okay." Quickly heading outside, she soon returned with a hare. "Here.." she said when she dropped it, nudging it to him.


    Featherflight stopped when they came to the deeper underbrush. "Alright...smell anything, Minnowtail?" She mewed.


    Thrushpaw nodded and dropped, making sure not to drag his belly. Once around the shrub, he spotted a brown rabbit. Taking off after it, it had noticed him and was not fast enough as he toppled over it. It fumbled to get away, and he had to dig his claws in tightly to try and keep it from escaping. Finally, he was able to deliver a swift bite. He dragged it out of the shrub, though he was covered in leaves and dirt. "See?" He said, panting as he dropped the kill. "Easy." Yeah sure. Easy.

    Phoenixfire giggled "Might not be as easy as you're saying but at least you did it" she said smiling

    Thrush paw shook out his fur. "Well if it would stop squirming." He said, admittedly, brushing a leaf off his chest with his nose. "I'd like to see how you do it again, Phoenixfire." He said, tail swishing. It wouldn't hurt to see it again, right?

    "Of course it wouldn't hurt to see it again. I am training you to be better after all" she said smiling softly.

    [font=monospace]Quickstep sat down and waited for Dewfall to come back. He was pleased with her choice, which he showed by swaying his tail happily (not that his expression or his eyes reflected this at all). He looked at her, expecting her to take the first bite as she was the one to bring it up, but she nudged it towards him. He studied her face for a moment before biting into the hare.

    She paused, taking a deep breath. "I smell a few mice over there," She mews quietly, pointing with her tail towards the base of a tree a few fox lengths away.

    Featherflight glanced in the same direction. "All right, you're right, I can smell it too." Her tail swished in excitement. "But we won't catch a thing if we both go. Why don't you go disturb the nest and try and catch one or two? I'll get as many of the runaways as I can." she mewed. It certainly smelled like a few of them.


    Thrushpaw nodded. After all, even if he was good, Phoenixfire was an excellent mentor.


    Dewfall nodded and looked down at her paws as she took a bite. She was glad he was happy with it. Leaning down just after him, she took a delicate bite of the hare herself, taking a moment to savor the flavor. The white she-cat had always loved hare and voles, but as an apprentice, she had gotten used to picking mice out of the pile. She usually left the bigger meals to the warriors. "They sure can hunt..." she mumbled softly. She wasn't really trying to make conversation, but she couldn't hold back that comment either.

    Phoenixfire scented the air for more prey in the area. Her orange fur glinted slightly in the sun and she got lower so the sun wouldn't cause a gleam and scare anything away.
