Phoenixfire smiled "I figured it would be a good day for you to tell me what you want to work on the most" she said

  • "Hmmm I don't know. I got pretty good at fishing yeaterday!" No he didn't. He had fallen into the water four times. "So what..." He thought for a moment, tail ticking at the floor. "Ah-- how about hunting?"

"Sure" Phoenixfire smiled and giggled softly "Come on " she said and stood up walking to the entrance of camp

  • Thrushpaw bounded confidently after his mentor. "Should we race? Or would that scare the prey away?" He meowed in question.

"Would definetly scare the prey away. Maybe another time we'll race, or teach you to fish better" she chuckled

  • "N-No problem." She meowed, shyness returning to her as soon as the lesson let out. "Just make sure you ask Quickstep or myself when it comes up." She mentioned, licking at her own chest a few times out of habit.

Thrushpaw nodded. "Alright." He sounded a little disappointed. "But I'm gonna catch the biggest thing in this forest!" He said excitedly, just stopping himself from bounding around his mentor on his paws.

  • [font=monospace]Quickstep noticed while organizing (and watching the lesson) that they were short of juniper berries and tansy. He sighed at this because juniper berries were a pain to harvest due to their prickly needles. Tansy, however, was not bad. He considered asking Dewfall to Leafpaw to gather some, but he decided to not be lazy and just go himself. They could accompany him. He blinked, noticing that they had just finished their lesson. Convenient. "Dewfall, Leafpaw," he called to them from where he was in the den. "Let's go," he said without explanation. He led the way out of the den.

  • She had just put the last beech leaf in place when she heard Quicksteps voice and jumped slightly. "O-Oh...coming Quickstep!" She mewed softly, following him and Leafpaw out of the den towards the outside of camp. She caught sight of her sister Featherflight stretched out in the center of camp but did not take anymore of her attention off the medicine cat and the apprentice.

  • [font=monospace]Quickstep, living up to his name, walked briskly and lightly, his steps nearly silent. He paused at the edge of camp to glance over his shoulder at his apprentice and his helper. Seeing that they were keeping up, he continued out of camp to where the shrub of juniper berries grew. He had taken this route many times, and he knew it very well. "Tomorrow, Leafpaw, you will make this short journey by yourself," he spoke without looking at the small she-cat. His ears twitched as he listened to the sounds of the woods around him. He brushed against a small boulder, leaving his scent as a landmark for Leafpaw. Then he continued on a twisty path until the shrub was visible in the distance.

  • Dewfall slowed down as Quickstep did. She knew to which bush he was headed, because they had to venture to it a lot as apprentice's themselves. Though she and Quickstep were raised on the same teachings, he had always known a little more than she herself. She was certainly fine with being his helper though, as he was a wonderful medicine cat. She looked to Leafpaw as it was stated she would do this very same thing tomorrow on her own. Trips for apprentices were common, she just hoped nothing dangerous would be about. Following after him again, she began walking around the Juniper shrub as they reached it. Juniper was harder to harvest than Tansy, but they needed it.

  • [font=monospace]Quickstep stopped in front of the juniper shrub. He, personally, hated collecting juniper due to the sharp needles. He glanced at Dewfall, mentally telling her not to pick any because if all three of them picked berries, then no one would be able pick the tansy which they needed more than juniper. However, he knew it was unfair to her to assume she'd read his mind though sometimes he wondered if she could. "What Leafpaw and I can carry should be enough," he said to the older she-cat. He looked over the shrub, starting to pick the berries that were higher up and out of Leafpaw's reach.

  • Dewfall nodded carefully upon hearing Quickstep's instruction and opened her jaws, trying to pick up the scent of Tansy. "I think there's a patch of Tansy that grows close to here, would you like me to go see if I can find it?" Her voice was still quiet, but she was hopefully close enough to the Tom that he could hear her.

  • OOC: I'm trying to do this on my kindle lol.

I noticed the apprentices movements, and quickly leaped forward. "That's all for now, but we have to work on not showing what your going to do next. I could foresee your attack even before you tried to land it on me." My paws gently tapped the branches of the 'entrance'.
"Maybe I should do a hunting test later..." I said quietly. Then I leaped through the gap of branches, "See you at camp!"

  • [font=monospace]Quickstep plucked a small limb off of the shrub, the needles stabbing his tongue and the roof of his mouth. He heard Dewfall, and he nodded to her. He was planning on taking Leafpaw to show her where the abundance tansy was, but he didn't want to confuse her since she had to make the trip alone the following day. He shifted the limb uncomfortably in his mouth.

    OOC: you're doin' good, mionnie!!

  • OOC: Thanks! :3

I reached camp and stretched gently. Since I had been hunting at dawn, I have had barely any sleep! Maybe a rest will do me some good... I thought to myself. Then I quietly leaped over to the den, trotted inside to find my nest and go to bed.

OOC: Apparently 'quietlyleaped' is turned into workhorses? Weird spell check.

  • Dewfall winced as she heard the Juniper ranches shift and break. "Quickstep, are you alright?" She mewed softly, concerned since she knew how much of a pain it was. When he nodded to her, she shifted on her paws for a moment. "I'll return shortly." She turned quickly on her paws, dashing towards where she could smell the tang of the Tansy patch.

  • Leafpaw unsheathed her claws and tried cutting the juniper off, but unfortunately it didn't work so she just picked some with her mouth, trying to not get stabbed.

Ashpaw made his way back to camp, catching some prey too. When Ashoaw got back he dropped the five pieces of prey he caught on the fresh kill pile.

  • [font=monospace]Quickstep watched Dewfall go. She seemed to be in a hurry. He didn't know what the rush was. He didn't find any need to hurry even with the needles poking him uncomfortably. His gaze turned to Leafpaw, watching her pull at the shrub. He pawed the ground as he waited. Once she seemed to be done, he turned and headed back towards camp.
