Wolfpaw excitedly followed after Ashleap, a skip in his step. He was a little disappointed his own mentor couldn't come, but he shouldn't complain cause they were practing battling.
"Have you practiced battling much?" Wolfpaw asked.

"Not too much," Newtpaw admitted. "We haven't had the chance to battle train that much. How about you?"
-
i've found out that toms can't really be tortoiseshells
Flameblaze walked out of camp to scent around. He didn't want to be in camp all day and maybe hunting would be good for the clan
-
Emberleqf looked back at the apprentice den, hoping for Robinpaw to emerge.
Ashleap lead the apprentices to the battle training space.
-
OOC: You're mostly right about that, Catbug! I hope no one minds if I share some cool info. Toms usually can't be tortoishell because they can't have both the black gene and the orange gene, since they only have one X chromosome. However, if they have a genetic disorder such as Kleinfelter's syndrome, which means they have two X chromosome and a Y, they can in fact be tortie or calico. This usually renders them sterile, though. I think that's interesting. c:
Also, i suggest we just send out the patrols without Miki's apprentices, it's holding up the RP and they don't seem to be replying. I messaged them once already and they asked for a recap, but even after I gave it they didn't reply. *shrug* It's up to you guys, but I think we should move on. If they come in later then they can catch up then or whatever.
IC: Lionleaf purred. "Thank you, Vinepaw. We'll eat these and head straight out." He crouched down to eat his share of the prey, leaving as much for his apprentice as he wished. The golden tom licked his maw when he'd finished and waited for Vinepaw.
Stormstar padded back over to Waspfang. "Ready to go?" He meowed, eager to be off. The Clan needed freshkill, it wouldn't be long before the cats were getting hungry. The dark grey tabby tom glanced once again towards the apprentice den, then shrugged. He could always take Whitepaw out training later.
-
Emberleaf looked at Pantherstep, ready to go. She pushed the picture of Stomstar out her mind, it was only a stupid little crush anyway. Right?
-
"Just a little, we are probably almost evenly matched, so this should be good," He replied, walking into the clearing.
-
Pantherstep got to her paws and led the way out of camp. Finally, the dawn patrol was off! The slim black she-cat led the way out of the ruined castle in which they made their home, then began to make her way towards the border. She glanced behind her to make sure Emberleaf was following. It could have been her imagination, but it seemed to her the other she-cat was a little out of it this morning!
-
"Yeah!" Newtpaw replied enthusiastically, trotting after his mentor. He couldn't wait to start working and improving his skills-- the tom was pretty small, and up to this point he hadn't had much success.
-
when we get to pg 10 i'm going to make Leafstorm have her kits, just a heads up :)
Flameblaze looked to the sky and noticed the clouds were getting darker. He shrugged maybe there would be a little rain later
-
Pearcloud blinked, feeling slightly hungry, and decided to go get herself something to eat. Pulling herself to her paws, the queen started to get up. Immediately, a pang rippled through her. The ginger she-cat let out a grunt of pain and slowly sank back down, claws digging into the earth. "Rghhh..."
-
Emberleaf followed Panthersrep, falling behind a little and shaking her head.
Ashleap stopped as they reached the battled clearing, leaping onto the rocky ledge in the clearing.
(sorry so short. doing it during school.)
-
Newtpaw bounded after his mentor, skidding to a halt in the middle of the clearing. Looking around, he noted the absence of obstructions and flexed his paws in the soft earth. This would be perfect for learning to fight.
-
Lionleaf's head shot up as a grunt of pain reached his ears. Without a moment's hesitation, he got to his paws and bounded across the stone floor and up the stairs. He scanned the second level of their camp and noticed Pearcloud. He padded briskly over to her. "Pearcloud? Are you all right?" The golden tom bent down to sniff her carefully. The tom could guess what was happening. "Vinepaw!" He called. "Bring me up some fennel and a good, strong stick, please!" His voice carried well.
When Pantherstep reached the border, she sniffed carefully. Nothing out of place. The black she-cat placed a marker and began to pad along the scent-line, all her senses alert for anything unusual. Every so often she stopped to refresh the scent.
Stormstar signaled Waspfang. "Come on, let's go." He meowed, leading the way out of the ruin. He opened his mouth to let the scents of the territory wash over him, searching for prey scents. Soon he found a mouse trail and began to follow it, holding his body lightly and moving silently.
-
Pearcloud sank back down into her nest, eyes watering with the pain. She glanced up at Lionleaf, mild anxiety flooding her gaze. "The kits..." she gasped softly, spasming slightly.
Waspfang padded silently after Stormstar, scenting quietly. Noting he was following a scent trail, she paused momentarily and turned off his trail a little, dropping into a crouch and following the fresh scent of vole.
-
are we going to start the plot soon?
Leafstorm walked back in the nursery, she layed down and fell asleep. She dreamed about what her kits would look like
-
Vinepaw heard Lionleaf's instructions and imeadiatly grabbed the requested items, running to the nursery.
Emberleaf followed Pantherstep quietly, obviously out of it. She glanced quietly over the border, deep in thought.
Ashleap looked down on the two apprentices, "Today we will work on overhead attacks," he instructed.
-
OOC: I'll start the plot when I get round to it, some time over the next couple of days, don't worry. c:
IC: Lionleaf touched his nose gently to Pearcloud's flank, then drew back quickly. He was completely calm. "Don't worry, Pearcloud." He meowed. "Cats have been kitting since the dawn of time." A placed a gentle paw on her belly, feeling carefully. "Swallow this juice, it will help with the pain." He broke a few of the fennel stems and squeezed the juice into the queens mouth. Then he paws the stick over. "Bite down when the pain comes."
Pantherstep continued along the border silently, occasionally glancing back at Emberleaf. She really is out of it today. She thought. Perhaps she should say something. But she'd never been very good at conversation, so no. The she-cat shrugged to herself and kept doing what she'd been doing, marking the border every couple foxlengths.
Stormstar heard Waspfang leave his trail and guess she was stalking something else. His own prey had just come into view. He was downwind, and stepped lightly. The mouse didn't know he was there until he pounced, his claws sinking in as he killed it quickly. He straightened and buried it, so he could pick it back up when they were returning.
-
(recap2iie?)
-
OOC: Some patrols went out and Pearcloud is having her kits. I think that's all?
IC: Waspfang stepped delicately along the trail. She couldn't see it yet, but it's scent was getting stronger and stronger. Peering around the base of a large oak, she saw it nibbling further along on its roots. She placed her paws down, dropping into a crouch, and sprung, grabbing it with her claws and nipping its spine. Burying it quickly, the she-cat turned to go catch up with Stormstar.
Pearcloud obdiently swallowed the juice and took the stick in her jaws, biting down slightly with a soft grunt as another flash of pain rippled through her. She squeezed her eyes shut and tried to only focus on Lineleaf's voice, knowing that the tom would get her through this.
