  • The golden tabby kit hummed thoughtfully to herself, scouting out who was still in the camp. She didn't quite want to go and talk to an elder, and the apprentices looked like they were leaving.. Aha. She grinned widely and scampered along over to Honeytongue, sitting herself down beside the deputy and looking up at him in curiosity as her tail gave a final swish behind her. "Hiya Honeytongue!"

  • Nearby, Bramblefoot kept his ears pricked towards the conversation. He nodded to Honeytongue, signifying his readiness for a hunting patrol.

Petalfur watched Lionkit through lidded eyes, making sure the kit would stay out of trouble. Kits will be kits, she purred to herself, amused.

  • "Oh hello Lionkit," Honeytongue greets.
He gives her a quick grin.

"What are you doing?" She asked, slightly confused as to why such a high-ranked cat was just sat around. Perhaps he was on some kind of important mission? But what would involve just sitting around like this? "Why are you just, kind of, sat here?"

  • "I'm keeping watch for the Clan," Honeytongue replies. "I sent a down patrol and a hunting patrol, which has left us with very little warriors in camp. So, I'm keeping watch in case something happens while they're gone."

  • The kit was still quite clearly baffled if the expression on her face said anything. She didn't seem to understand the idea that one cat could just sit down and do nothing whilst everybody else was up and active - not really getting the idea that when she was finally made into a warrior she'd have to sit a nightly vigil and do just that, except everyone else would be asleep. She narrowed her eyes thoughtfully, before they brightened again, and she straightened herself up, looking ahead of herself intently and chirruping back with optimism in her voice, "Then, I'll stay on watch with you! Something interesting has to happen at some point anyway, right?"

  • "I would sure hope not," Honeytongue replies. "But, I'm afraid you can't stay on watch with me. If something were to happen, you have no experience, battle or otherwise. Two minutes in... you're fresh kill."
He looks directly at her with a hard expression.
"I just, don't want anything bad to happen," he continues. "You and your siblings are the future of RuinClan, and we can't have ya'll dying out before that happens, right?"

  • Pantherstep looked to Emberleaf. "Are we ready to go?" She asked, her voice quiet. The black she-cat glanced again towards the apprentice den. Perhaps they'd better leave without Robinpaw... But she wasn't going to tell the other she-cat that. Emberleaf could make that decision on her own.

Lionleaf nodded. "Thanks, Vinepaw." The golden tom padded to the back of the den, where a tiny trickle of water wound it's way through the broken rubble. It pooled there, too, and the medicine cat used it when cats were too sick to leave the den, or whenever he needed a drink and couldn't leave camp yet. He lapped a small amount of the clear water and sat back to wait for Vinepaw.

Poppynose watched Lionkit leave the nursery with amusement. "Always on the go, that one, isn't she?" The calico she-cat purred to Cinderspots. "She'll make a fine warrior some day." She curled her tail over her back, then stood up. "I think I'll go outside to get some sunshine." She meowed, padding out of the nursery. Then she headed across the stone floor to a place where the roof was open. The queen settled down in the sun with a lazy purr.

  • Cinderspots gave a light purr of her own of gratitude to Poppynose's comment about her kit, offering the other queen a warm smile in return, "All right, and thank you Poppynose's. I'll be seeing you later then." She gave Greykit a light nudge again and the tom kit finally opened his amber eyes, the short fluff he called a tail flicking. Brackenkit just pressed close to his mother, wanting to enjoy the rest for as long as it lasted.

Lionkit deflated a little at her deputy's words, head lowering as she turned her head back to look up to Honeytongue. "..I guess so. I'll look for something else to do then," She sighed, perhaps a little over-dramatically, pushing herself up to her feet and turning to walk on off again, seeing what else there was to do around camp at this time.

  • "Hey," Honeytongue calls after her. "For what it's worth, I think you'll make a fine warrior someday."

  • Pearcloud twitched her whiskers in amusement at Honeytongue and Lionkit, grinning at the little she-cat's overdramatic reaction. The sandy queen glanced back at Cinderspots with a smile. "She's a real pawful, isn't she?"

Waspfang followed Shadowstar, whiskers twitching with a slight amusement at the fact that his apprentice had not yet stirred. The tortie glanced around camp and noted that most of the groups were near to departing. She looked over at Honeytongue with an amused smirk, watching the kit bounce around him.

Newtpaw looked up at Ashleap with a grin as Honeytongue granted Wolfpaw permission to go with them. "Where are we gonna go today, Ashleap?" the young tom asked his mentor, looking back at his friend happily.

  • Leafstorm walked out of the nursery, her kits were due any day now. She chose a bird from the pile and started eating hungrily. She licked her lips soon after and sat and relaxed

  • "Thank you!" Wolfpaw called to mentor before turning and waiting for Ashleap's response. He glanced excitedly at Newtpaw, and then out at the forest.

  • Lionkit turned back to the tom for a moment, a bright grin lighting her face again at the comment. She nodded in reply, tail now held high as she searched for a new activity to keep her occupied for a little while longer.

Cinderspots sighed, a tired smile sent to her fellow queen, "Indeed she is, but it is worth putting up with." She looked down to her other two kits as Brackenkit stood and shook himself off, starting to move away as well finally. Greykit seemed intent to stay in the nursery this day, however.

  • Ashleap winked at his apprentice, "Battle training," he told him.

Vinepaw editors the den and pranced over to the fresh kill pile, picking out a a black bird and a mouse. The young cat pranced over back to the medicine cat den and placing the prey on the ground..

  • Newtpaw grinned with excitement. "Cool!" he meowed, shooting a happy glance at Wolfpaw before looking back at his mentor. The tortie tom waved his tail, kneading slightly at the ground in a mildly impatient manner.

  • " let's go!" He said, strangely as enthusiastic as his apprentice.
