He continued to groom her. The wind blowing over the water was getting colder and Shadow could tell that they had been out there longer than he had thought. "Come on, we should be heading back" he told her gently, nudging her to her feet.

She nodded and stood up, flesing her neck.

He licked her shoulder one last time before nervously lowering himself back into the water. The water made him feel heavier and already he could tell that the waves had become stronger meaning that getting back to shore would be difficult. correction, getting back to shore without drowning first would be difficult.

Ember looked at him, "Just focus on staying above the water," she called, letting the waves move her towards the shore, eyeing him nervously.

Shadow did as he was instructed, his head bobbing rhythmically as the waves pushed him closer to what he hoped was the shore. He focused on the sound of Ember's paws paddling to keep her afloat, using her presence to calm himself down.

She felt the shore under her paws and puched herself to her paws, padding ono the sand she shook out ger fur.

Shadow's paws brushed against the sand in the shallows. He scrabbled trying to get a proper footing on the shifting sand bed. He dragged himself onto the shore, shaking the water vigorously from his pelt. He listened trying to find Ember, once he had, he turned and padded towards her. He licked her ears, ignoring the salty tang it left. "Lets head back up the the cave" he said leading the way to the crack that was the pathway directly into the main cavern of their cave home.

Ember nodded and padded after him, flicking her tail in the air to shake the water from it.

He traveled through the tunnel quickly, waiting for Ember once he reached the other side.

Ember padded after him through the tunnel, hed butting Shadow's shoulder when she reached the other side.

He licked her ear in reply, circling her playfully.

She smiled and batted at his tail.

he hissed playful, pouncing and pinning her to the ground gently.

She narrowed her eyes and let out a playful growl, putting a paw on his chest.

Shadow growled playfully in return, knocking his tail against her legs before twining his tail with her's.

Ember smiled and yawned, even though it was just after sunhigh.

Shadow stepped off her settling down next to his new found mate. "I know we only just became mates but...Ember what are your thoughts on kits?" he asked pawing at her side tenderly.

Ember put her head on the ground at the question, "Yay," she said, rolling onto her side, stomach facing Shadow.

Shadow laughed quietly at Ember's reaction to his question. He leaned forward, licking her stomach.

Ember purred in please and stretched out, closing her eyes, as Shadow licked her belly.
