  • Terroka then began to head out of the room, still looking back to make sure Kono was following. She walked through the tunnels that lead to the main chamber they were originally in, and began to look around at the almost identical tunnels. She seemed to be taking her time on choosing where to bring Kono, next.
She eventually looked to her side, and walked right to another tunnel. She looked back once again to make sure Kono was following, before making her way through the tunnel that seemed completely unmarked. It was strange how she could remember which tunnel was which, when they all looked the same.

  • I followed Terroka closely, since it'd just be horrible if I ended up getting lost in the tunnels that conjoined the caverns, since they all looked the same.

  • Terroka continued to keep walking without getting the least bit tired. It seemed that they had walked for almost an hour before finally reaching the next chamber. The entrance to it seemed to glow against the darkness that already filled the tunnel. Terroka had to shield her eyes and let them adjust to the glowing light, before she walked inside to reveal what was causing the glow.

  • Good thing I was used to traveling on foot for long periods of time, otherwise I probably would have collapsed. Still, I was glad that we had seemed to have finally reached our destination. I shielded my eyes for a few moments from the glow that was up ahead, since my eyes had adjusted to the darkness of the tunnels. But eventually I withdrew my hand from my eyes as we walked into the chamber.

  • Terroka soon unshielded her eyes, and walked inside alongside Kono. The inside of the chamber was huge, looking like a mansion inside. And in that chamber was what looked like millions of mushrooms that glowed a bright blue. There were big ones, tiny ones, and even mushrooms as large as Kono herself. Meanwhile, there were mutants tending to the mushrooms, as a farmer would tend to their crops.

  • I couldn't help but grin when my eyes had adjusted, and I felt a spur of inspiration upon getting a good look at the chamber. I felt the urge to just sit down and start drawing the scene before me, but that would have to wait for now. The bioluminescent mushrooms definitely reminded me of that one subterranean lake that I had discovered.

  • "This is where we farm our very own crops of glowshrooms," Terroka informed Kono, seeming to point at the scene, "They grow quickly, and can grow to huge sizes, proving a good source for food for the colony."

  • "This is amazing," I commented with somewhat wide eyes as I watched a mutant harvest some of the "glowshrooms." The mutants certainly were resourceful, that was for sure. I definitely needed to write all of this down later, for future reference.

"Personally, this is my favorite food that we have." Loki smiled. "They taste great. Maybe you would like them." He told Kono, but a thought came to him. "Then again, I don't know if it's poisonous to your kind."

  • I made a mental note upon hearing this; See if the glowshrooms are poisonous to non-mutants. I'd probably perform such a test once I was released, but for now, that experiment in particular would have to wait.

  • "... Is there anything else that you grow here? Like any other sort of other kind of fungi or a subterranean plant of some kind?" I questioned, directing this question more towards Terroka.

  • "Not anything here, no. This is all that grows down here," Terroka answered, putting her finger on her chin, "Though, when we need other plants, we usually have the hunters go and forage for fruits and nuts. Though, that's not exactly a common thing, here."
Terroka remembered that last time they had gotten the fruits, and remembered that it was treated like a celebration.

  • "Ah. I see..." I hummed, donning a pensive look as my brow furrowed slightly as I thought to myself. "Hmm, well, anyways, shall we continue?" I said, referring to our "tour."

  • "Another room," I told Terroka with a slight smile. You know... I don't think that I'll mind having to stay here for awhile. I thought to myself pleasantly as an almost serene smile graced my face.

  • "Alrighty then," Terroka replied as she turned quickly, and returned to the tunnel that brought them to the luminous chamber. It would take a while for them to get back, as it did for them to make it there, but where they were going would make it worth the walk.
Eventually they reached the main chamber once again, and Terroka immediately picked out the tunnel she wanted to go through, next. She quickly scuttered towards its entrance, and looked back as she always did, to make sure Kono was following.

  • "Don't worry, I'm following." I reassured Terroka with a small smile that I hoped she'd find reassuring as I followed the spider-like mutant once again.

  • Terroka smiled at Kono as she said this, and soon entered the tunnel. On the inside, it looked pitch-black to Kono, but was only rather dim to the mutants. And unlike the last tunnel, this one was much shorter, and the entrance to the next chamber was not eye-burning.
It was not long before they came into what looked like a well-packed place, as well as a pretty busy place. It looked as though mutants were loading things into shallow pits.
"The hunters are back," Terroka sighed with a smile on her face.
