  • Sparrowsky looked at her apprentice. "Okay, so first off, I want to see some of your hunting skills. Bring me a.. mouse." She smiled at the younger cat. She missed being a young, free apprentice and training with her mentor.

Sparrowsky wanted to be as nice as she could be to the young cat. After all, it would be her that would guide her through apprenticehood, and she wouldn't want Rippedpaw to be an old grumpy she-cat. She silently laughed at what she was thinking.

She stood and looked at Rippedpaw. She smiled and said, "Mouse time."

  • Rippedpaw smiled, nodding enthusiastically. She dove into a crouching position, her mouth wide open to catch all of the scents. She scented prey, and that was good enough for her. Her crouch was perfectly heighted and balanced. Now, she was conscious about her tail, she made sure to keep it in place. She didn't want to let it drop again and scare off the prey like last time.
As she approached the prey, her footsteps were light at silent. Stalking prey was one of her strengths. She decided she was close enough and pounced, killing the prey. Last time she had killed prey, her mentor didn't come back for her... She looked down to see a vole. She brought it back to her mentor and hung her head in failure. "It's a vole..."

  • Sparrowsky smiled at her appreentice's efforts. "That's alright, a vole is good too," She grinned.

"Well, I can see you've got hunting down, so I'm not too worried about that. We should try battling now." She suggested. "Come at me and attack me the best you can. Don't worry!" She looked at the apprentice, ready to defend herself. ;D

  • Rippedpaw smiled again when she heard that a vole was good too. "F-fighting? But we haven't started that! I only just started hunting... well... okay... but I don't know any moves!"

  • Sparrowsky raised her eyebrows at her apprentice's fear. "It's okay, just try your best." She encouraged. Sparrowsky wasn't the best when she first started battling, but look where she was now.

    She grinned. "Come on!"

  • "Okay..." Rippedpaw said, hesitantly. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I guess the only thing that I know about is pouncing, so I guess I'll do that... She crouched and sprang up, being sure to sheath her claws. It wasn't a good pounce, it wasn't high enough for high enough effectiveness.

  • Sparrowsky sheathed her claws and pushed Rippedpaw off her. "Nice try, but try again. This time, get more air." She licked her paw, waiting for her apprentice to make a move.

  • Rippedpaw hesitated. She took a deep breath and sprang, this time getting too much air so that she would hit the very end of her mentor's back and not have enough room to get a hold.

  • Sparrowsky ripped forward in time for the apprentice to hit where the end of her back would be. Sparrowsky stuttered. "W-well..I think that's enough battling for today. While you're still here, Let me see you catch something else."

  • Rippedpaw's determined expression changed to a smile. "Okay, I can do that!" She crouched again. Sniffing the air, she couldn't smell anything, so she moved on. After traveling for a few minutes, she scented a mouse. She stalked it nearly perfectly, still conscious of her tail. She pounced from a bit to far away, and missed it. Quickly, she pounced again, catching it in mid-run. She killed it before it could get away from her grasp. She dropped it at her mentor's feet. "There's that mouse you wanted!"

  • Sparrowsky laughed. "I'm impressed at your hunting skills, but your battling could use some work." She told the other she-cat. "Let's take the prey and get back to camp."

  • Rippedpaw nodded, picking up her prey and then heading for the vole she had caught earlier. This was bad, though. She didn't like hunting... because she was bad at it. And from what her mentor said, they'd be working on fighting a lot more then hunting. She enjoyed hunting, but it looked like she wouldn't do as much of it for awhile... at least until she worked on her fighting for a bit. She shook it off and looked up at her mentor. SHe put her prey down to speak. "Should I take the prey anywhere? Like to the medicine cat or elders or queens or something?"

  • "Sure, you could take some to the queens, I'm sure they would enjoy that." She smiled down at the apprentice. "Come on, let's go back. You had a good first day, so get some sleep and be up bright and early in the morning." She grinned and started to sprint. "You'd better hurry, all the kill will be gone if you keep up that pace!" She called, laughing.

  • Rippedpaw grinned as much as she could with the freshkill in her mouth. She sprinted off towards the Nursery, ducking under branches and jumping over logs. SHe finally reached the camp and stopped, panting. Once she controlled her breathing, she casually brought the freshkill to the Nursery.

OOC: I think this is over now.
