  • Thrushfeather padded out of the warrior's den, his muscular shoulders rippling under his long, dark pelt. He sat in the clearing and watched the fading sun, his favourite thing to do. He was actually an unusually friendly tom, despite his appearance. He looked over his shoulder, then around camp, wondering if anyone was thinking thesame thing as he was: The sunset is extraordinary tonight.

  • The slender she-cat awoke with a start, gasping. She had another bad dream. She got up and padded out, now unable to sleep. She then saw a shape and walked slowly towards it. She stopped slihouttedly and looked to feel the familar scent wash over her. She finished pacing over to him and stopped beside him curling her tail neatly over paws before looking over at him. "Hello." she mewed calmly and let her gaze rest on the sunset.

  • He turned his head towards the newcomer, "Ah, hello Bluefire. Just in time for the sunset." He smiled, sweeping his feathered tail in the dust behind him.

  • The tabby she-cat let her gaze rest on the sunset. She nodded and looked at him. "It's beautiful." she murmured.

  • Thrushfeather looked back at her, "Yeah, sunsets tend to be like that," He laughed, "I'm just joking. It is a very beautiful sunset tonight, though. The way it turns all the clouds pink is neat." He observed the scene of the setting sun, admiring every little detail.

  • Bluefire nodded and her eyes filled with amusment at his joke. "I remember when I was kit seeing my first sunset..." he voice trailed off looking at it. "It shines so bright."

  • He nodded half-heartedly, his attention on the sunset. "So, what your favourite part of a sunset?" He asked, he loved sunsets for their colors. It was amazing how nature could produce something so vibrant and unique. It was the same with rainbows, and the other purely amazing things nature could do.

  • Thrushfeather replied without hesitation, "I like how the colors are so vibrant. I love how nature can produce beautiful colors like that, without using anything like the twolegs use to color stuff. If you think about it, it's almost magic..." he trailed off.

  • Thrushfeather remained silent just until the sun had gone, and all the stars were visible in the sky. He sighed quietly, "I wonder if, behind each star, there is one of our ancestors..." he mumbled, almost to himself. He watched the stars twinkle brightly in the navy blue sky.
