    Shiki:


    Shiki shuffled quickly over to his "master" as he beckoned for him to come closer, he showed no emotion in his eyes as he moved closer, internally resisting the urge to cry. His back still ached from the loss of his wings, which were now just two big scars on his back where they used to be. His "master" grabbed his chin, a smirk on his face as he was about to press his disgusting dry and chapped lips against Shiki's, when the doorbell rang. Shiki quickly ran away to get the door.


    Kiku Souryuu


    Kiku was standing in front of an old friends house, not seeing him for quite a while due to long hours at the hospitals. He thought since he got done with his shift earlier than anticipated, he would go for a visit and catch up on events. Kiku was sure his friend didn't mind an unexpected visit.

    Shiki opened the door slowly, careful to peer out and check for a weapon, before opening it fully. The face he was met with was unfamiliar face, usually only the same people came for a visit, but he had never seen this face before. Noticing he had been staring, he looked down and stepped aside to allow him in,"please, come in,"he said quietly, his voice shaking slightly.

    "O-oh um thank you." Kiku gave a gentle smile, before entering the house. Glancing around, seeing if there were any changes to the house but didn't find any. The one thing he did notice was the skittish boy that apparently stayed with his friend now, he definitely wasn't here the last time he was here.

    Shiki nodded at the thanks, not really knowing how to react to it, seeming as he never got one since he came here. He closed the door silently, then stepped in front of the stranger,"follow me, I'll show you to master's whereabouts,"he told him, turning to show him to the study where he was.

    Kiku seemed to laugh, "You don't really have to be formal with me. Say, what's your name? " The purple-eyed boy questioned curiously, following in behind the stranger, staying three steps behind. "I'm Kiku Souryuu. Feel free to call me whatever you want though.." Kiku kept an eye on his own feet, making sure he didn't make a clumsy impression. The young adult was never 'good' with his feet, always tripping over things and at time tripped over nothing and falling on his face or getting tangled up in something. It made for embarrassing pictures and moments.

    The angel was confused as to why the man was being so nice, everyone else he had met was mean and always seemed angry. He bit his lip lightly, thinking that this may be a trap and this guy was an actor, maybe he was waiting for Shiki to mess up so he could hurt him. He finally answered when they were almost to the room,"my name's Shiki, I don't have a last name,"he was struggling to stop being so formal and talk like he used to. He stopped in front of a door,"we're here, sir- I mean Kiku,"he said quietly, gesturing for him to go right in.

    Kiku blinked confusingly. Sir? Kiku's never been addressed with such a term, majority of the nicknames he has received are quite degrading or rude and are all by the same blonde he knew. "Um thank you once again.." He headed into the study, opening the door quietly. Glancing around the room nervously, Kiku was seriously about to leave the room and just wait till his friend came out.

    Shiki stood outside the room, knowing he was not allowed in unless he was called, plus he didn't really have any desire to go in with his horrible master.


    Cedric had been looking for a book behind one of the shelves, only looking up from the shelf when he heard the door open. It took him a moment to step around to show himself, since he found the book at the last moment. Quickly, he stepped around, already knowing it was a guest, but he was shocked to see it was Kiku.

    "Hey, I'm sorry for coming so suddenly, but I wanted to see how you were doing." Kiku apologized. "Is this where you stay most of the time now?" the younger male motioned to the room around. Kiku, himself, was surprised by how much he spoke. He never really said anything unless it was yes or no or if it's to calm down a patient at the hospital. "You should really go out more, it's unhealthy staying in." Kiku's tone was light but stern.

    Cedric sighed,"I can't leave the house, I have a lot of work to get done, if I hadn't hired Shiki then I would barely be eating,"he said. Truthfully he did have a lot of work, but the real reason he didn't leave was because he knew that any chance the angel got to escape, he would take it, no matter how much fear he put in the boy.


    Shiki bit his lip harder than last time when Cedric told Kiku he was hired help, blood welled up in his mouth leaving a metallic taste on his tongue. He wanted so bad to burst in and shout about how that was a lie, but knew if he were to do that it would cause problems for himself, so he stayed quiet and stood there, quietly listening.

    "You made a good choice hiring him. He seems really nice. But y'know I would always be willing to help out, that is what friends are for." Kiku smiled. "I hope you're at least making him feel welcomed and safe." Kiku said, glancing back to the door.


    "So what have you been up too while I've been away?" Kiku asked curiously.

    "I could never ask for your help, I'd become too much of a bother to you,"Cedric told him with a smile. The man then started lying,"of course I am, he wouldn't be here if I wasn't, he loves it here,"he was going to continue with the lie when Shiki couldn't stand there anymore and appeared in the doorway,"u-um, master, I wanted t-to know if y-you and your guest wanted any t-tea?"he stuttered, shifting uncomfortable. Cedric shot him a look that said he was in trouble, which caused Shiki to flinch, before he smiled kindly,"yes, I'd love one, what about you?" He asked looking over at Kiku.

    Kiku frowned, That was a lie wasn't it? He's always seemed the more forceful type to me... Kiku thought, biting his lip to prevent him from saying something unwelcomed. The nurse glanced toward Shiki and smiled. "Ah..sorry but no thank you. Tea seems to give me nightmares as my brother told me..You can get me a water, if you want I mean." Kiku answered softly. Kiku then realized that Shiki referred to Cedric as 'Master' rather than Mister or Boss or even by his actual name. How suspicious.

    Shiki smiled slightly and bowed,"right away, sir,"he said, going back to his formal manner. He hurriedly scurried away, making his way to the kitchen to get the water and cup of tea. He moved around the small area, grabbing a tall glass cup and a tea cup, he started brewing the tea and filled the cup almost to the top with water and ice, then he began to go back to the room when the tea was done, he carried a tray with both drinks.

    "Sir? How formal, I'm seriously not used to such formality." Kiku hummed. "As I am now I probably don't deserve it." Kiku laughed. "So aside from work, what do you do being cooped up in this place?" He asked.

    Cedric laughed,"you should of heard the mouth on him before he came here,"his voice had a slightly dark undertone to it. He didn't say anything about Kiku's comment about himself and answered his question,"I don't really do anything other than sleep if I'm not working, but me and Shiki talk sometimes I guess."

    "It couldn't have been has bad as my brothers...or that boy at college." Kiku said, his magenta gaze staring at Cedric with a disapproving look. "That's really not healthy..." The nurse wasn't to deep into the medical division but he knew that doing nothing and staying inside wasn't healthy and was one of the signs of being depressed. "Hey, I'm free two days next week. And my one lf my brothers have been dying to go to that new bar. So how about we go together? I'm sure you can spare a few hours." Kiku suggested.


    That definitely wasn't a lie, Akio had been begging to go to the bar, but he was busy and his three other siblings didn't want to go.

    Cedric thought for a moment,"yeah, I'm almost finished the documents I'm working on now so I'll be able to go." He had momentarily forgot about Shiki, that is until he walked through the door, carefully carrying a tray with two objects on it.

    "Oh fantastic! Akio will be so excited, I'll give him a call right away." Kiku smiled happily. Akio would be extremely excited, and maybe he could persuade Dmitri and the others to join. Glancing over as Shiki re-entered the room, Kiku sent a smile to the boy. "Welcome back."
