    Kaito:

Kaito didn't move, his head hung low and his sapphire eyes stared, blinking occasionally at the floor. His hands were bound by iron chains above his head and his feat barely touched the ground. While he should of lost the muscle in his arms, he hadn't because of the way his body was now, it would never change and while he still got hungry he didn't need the food anymore, those were some of the effects of him being a failed experiment. In fact he hadn't eaten in the past fifteen years, and still he weighed the same as before the experiment started. The boy closed his eyes and kept them closed, even knowing he could never sleep again.

  • ~tracking, this seems interesting. However if someone stumbles upon the thread and beats me to it then that is fine as well. I just have to wait until I get off of work in about another two hours~

    Suri:

"Come on, don't be a wimp!" A boy with bright blonde hair insisted, the shadows of his face flickered from where he sat across the fire.

Suri rolled her eyes, folding her arms across her chest, "Don't be so ridiculous. The only thing that will come out of this is us getting lost." She stated, her brow permanently pinched together as though she had been fighting a losing argument for far more than half an hour.

The boy heaved a sigh before standing up, "Fine then, I'll go myself. Have fun with the wolves."

Suri watched him in disbelief as he stood while picking up some of their belongings before he walked away towards the forest. She risked a glance around the growing darkness as the fire began to weaken, taking the comforting warmth with it. "You're going to leave me?" She called out after him in aggravation as she picked up her sack and kicked dirt over the fire. Suri took one last long look before she adjusted the strap over her shoulder and jogged after to catch up with him when she didn't get an answer.

    --

The flashlight flickered slightly in her hand and she clutched it closer to her chest. "Siruto!" She called out into the darkness, sighing in frustration. If he hadn't left her she would have killed him by now. "Siruto!"
    No reply.
It seemed she might not have to anymore if this kept up. Suri picked up the pace. She felt something snag her ankle and she gasped as she fell into a cluster of brambles.
Her slim fingers felt around the soil and limbs for her flashlight, and her lips muttered bitter words at herself as she tried to unsnag her clothes from the twisting branches. The flashlight managed to find its way into her hand and she clicked on the light. After she freed herself from the other side of the undergrowth, she paused. A rather large structure sat before her, standing as an ominous silhouette against the moon's light. This must have been the place Siruto was talking about.
"Siruto?" She called out quietly, beginning to feel itchy as she approached the walls of the building. Tracing the perimeter, she stopped at a set of doors, hesitating outside. Surely he wouldn't have gone in expecting her to follow?
Suri leaned forwards to peer through the windows, but there was nothing inside but impenetrable darkness. "Siruto, I have a hard time thinking even you would be so bold as to go in this place." She talked to herself to help keep her fear at bay as she pushed through the door.

It let out a creak and the air inside rushed out, sending chills sidling down her arms despite its warmth. She held the flashlight out, though it did little to break through the blackness that hung in every direction. "Hello? ...Siruto?" Suri yelled, though her voice cracked a bit as she walked in deeper. It appeared she was in some sort of hall, though she couldn't be sure. The windows along the walls were spaced out rather far, and she couldn't help but wonder as to what the bars behind the glass were supposed to keep from getting out. "Is anyone there?!" She called a bit louder, hearing the faint drip of something liquid hitting the floor.

  • It's fine :D

The boy's eyes snapped opened as he heard footsteps in the abandoned building, he had been so concentrated on his own thoughts he only heard them now when they were so close to the steps that lead down to where he was. This wasn't the first human to have entered the building in the past fifteen years and normally he would of heard them as soon as they entered, so hearing them now startled him into moving causing the chains to rattle and echo, making them louder than it actually was. No matter how much he would love to get out of this place, get to quench the thirst that wouldn't go away, and fill his empty stomach, he couldn't let anyone find him. With a deep breath, the boy let out a very inhuman growl, hoping he could scare her away, like he had the other humans when they got too close.

  • Suri jumped at the sudden gnarl that pierced the heavy silence. The flashlight jumped from her hand when she had jerked in fright. It ended up rolling away from her feet. The light flickered a few times and then darkness fell as it shut off completely.
Suri heard her pulse rushing in her ears and she bit her bottom lip as she stood, paralyzed in fright. It seemed she would have to rely on the dim lighting cast through the windows.
"Siruto." She whispered, mainly to herself considering whatever had made the noise was far from human. In a way, a part of her hoped it was him trying to scare the hell out of her, but she knew it wasn't, and that she was alone with whatever else seemed to inhabit the abandoned place.
Many things had been said about this place, and all of the theories and stories popped into her head; particularly the ones Siruto had scared her with. Suri then remembered her cell-phone was in her back pocket and she pulled it out, relieved to see it was still charged enough to last a few hours if she used it conservatively.

As tempting as it was to go right then and there, she couldn't help but be worried that Siruto was still in here. What if he had gotten lost? Or even worse, hurt?

Suri turned on her phone's flashlight, trying to figure out where the noise had come from. If she recalled correctly, it sounded like something metal reverberated from somewhere a little ways away. Her hand pulled at some of the doors lining the hall but they were all locked from what she could tell. Others were so rusted it was impossibly to even try and open them. After a few more attempts, one of the doors opened, though it had been different from the others.

Suri peered down the stairway as far as it went until it was swallowed in darkness. A part of her felt like this was where the noise had come from, even though she had no valid reason as to think so. She clutched her phone in her damp hands tightly and took a deep breath to calm her racing heart, "I'm coming Siruto."

The air was almost suffocating as she descended, and she tried to ignore the fact that she was walking practically blindly to whatever was waiting below. When she reached the last step she stopped, figuring if whatever was down there planned on killing her, now would be the time it would take the chance.

  • The blue haired boy knew he had failed to scare the person off when he saw a light come from the door as it was opened. He knew the light should of hurt his eyes that were so used to the darkness, but it didn't, he was able to see perfectly fine and didn't even have to blink at it. When feet began to descend the stairs, he made no movements, with his arms chained so high he couldn't even take a step forward to maybe scare them back up the stairs. As they reached to bottom, Kaito could make out enough to tell that the intruder was a female, a thought went through his head that maybe since she was closer to him now she would be more afraid and without looking at him he might be able to get her away. In a final attempt, he lurched his body forward causing an even louder noise from the chains and let another growl rumble from his throat.

  • Suri flinched and let out a gasp, unable to find her voice enough to be able to scream. Her back pressed up against the wall and she figured her phone had fallen on the floor since her hands were clamped into fists, shaking at her sides.
She waited for pain to spark through her body, for teeth to maul her skin, or a knife to cut her open. After another long minute, she very slowly let out the breath she hadn't known she had been holding and opened her eyes. It was certain that whatever creature lurked about was in this room, the close proximity of which the noise sounded told her that much.
If she wasn't dead, then that meant that it didn't intend to hurt her, or that something was keeping it from doing so. Suri managed to relax enough to bend over and felt around for her phone. She felt her fingers curl around the cool plastic case and she picked it back up, glad to see there hadn't been any damage from the collision.
"I'm n-not going to hurt you." She stammered aloud, not quite sure what it was she was talking to, or if she wanted to find out. "Although I'm not so sure about the other way around." She added under her breath just loud enough to hear for herself.

Suri lead the phone's light around slowly, her trembling arm caused it to shiver as the light skimmed the room. It was then that her body tightened. Her hazel eyes locked onto the boy suspended on the wall by chains. His deep blue eyes matched the hair that fell slightly over his face, and it took all of her might not to turn tail and run.

  • Once again he knew he had failed, and instead of embarrassing himself by trying again he just went still and waited. It was like an eternity for him as the light came closer to him and finally landing on him. He watched her expression as she looked at him, she clearly looked terrified and wanted to run, the thing about being locked away for so long and never seeing a mirror since the experiment and plus the face the girl was making really makes someone wonder what they look like. Obvious distress covered his face as he looked away hoping to hide it so she wouldn't have to look at him.

  • After the shock had settled in, Suri realized she had been staring at him and looked away briefly, not wanting to make him feel odd... Why was this boy down here? Suri hadn't thought any human would have been inside this place, it seemed like it had been abandoned years ago. She used her hand to wipe away some strands of light auburn hair that had fallen into her face and she tried to find her voice, "A-are you, o-okay?" She asked, her voice shaking. It was a dumb question, and she realized that after she spoke and tried to add onto it.
"W-why are you," She paused, her eyes lingering on the chains around his arms, hesitating to ask.
She gave up trying to speak for the moment and walked closer towards him, stopping just a few feet away, "Well- Can you speak?" She finally stated, deciding to start off from first base. As she awaited an answer, she couldn't help but wonder how long he had been down here and who had put him there- and why.

  • Kaito considered not saying anything and didn't for the first two attempted questions. He was silent for about a minute after she had asked the question before he answered,"yeah, I can speak..."his voice was quiet yet surprisingly clear. His voice should of been raw from not being used for so long, yet it was perfectly clear and didn't crack once

Kinda had to rush, sorry it's shorter)

  • (It's alright :) )

Suri flinched when he spoke, unable to keep her tense muscles from doing so. She nodded slowly, feeling even more curious as time went on. "I-I don't really know much about you, or why you're here, but I'm willing to help you as long as you don't hurt me or anything." She said slowly, beginning to feel awkward just standing there while he was chained up like some sort of animal. It then occurred to her that she had heard growling during her descent. Her eyes scanned the rest of the room but the only other living thing she could see was the boy. Her gaze fell on his face, meeting his gaze evenly, "Right... Um, is there any way you know of that I could possibly get you down?" She had never had to do anything like this before, and certainly had no idea as to where anything was in this place. All of the questions pooling in her head made her feel dizzy but she managed to keep a firm stance as she waited for his reply.

  • Kaito bit his lip, he knew exactly how to get himself down, he'd learned from countless times studying the chains and the cuffs that kept him connected to them, he couldn't get the restraints off on his own, but with her... He wanted to tell her, he truly wanted to be out of this place and see the world and the light of day once more, but he knew he couldn't. With him out it would cause problems for the girl, and what if he lost control of himself again? With that thought he decided he wouldn't say anything about what he knew,"if I knew how to get these off, do you think I'd still be here?" He asked, which it came out a lot harsher than he had intended.

  • Suri looked at him for a long moment, her eyes flickering momentarily. She let out a small sigh and nodded, "Right, s-sorry. That was a dumb question."
Hesitating slightly, Suri took a few more steps closer, slowly closing the distance between them. She figured if he was going to hurt her, he would have to wait until he got free at least. When she stopped before him she paused, creases forming at the corner of her lips as she frowned. "How could anyone do something like this to you?"
Suri hadn't really realized what she was saying until she heard her own voice. Her eyes looked at him, reflecting her worry as she examined the chains that bound him to the wall. How long had he been down here in the darkness? From what she could see it didn't seem as though he was too malnourished, but if she had spent merely a few days down in this place it would have been just a frightening all the same. She slowly reached out her hand, letting it linger in the air between them for a moment as though contemplating her decision before she laid her hand on his cheek.
A moment later she pulled it away, deciding to take the moment as a good excuse to rummage through her pack to see what she had that might be useful to get him free. Suri let out an abrupt sigh, "If Siruto hadn't taken most of our stuff...." Her voice stopped abruptly and her eyes widened in shock. She had completely forgotten about him! "I'm going to kill him." She muttered under her breath in frustration.

  • Kaito watched her every move carefully, looking for any signs of aggression. 'They could do this because I'm a freak,' he thought, deciding not to say anything out loud. Kaito resisted the urge to tear himself away from her touch and shut his eyes tightly, feeling the heat of her hand on his cheek, it felt...nice. He missed her touch as she began rummaging through the bag, watching her silently, hearing every word as clearly as if she had shouted it, before he could stop himself he spoke,"who's Siruto?"

  • Suri looked over to him from the bag, momentary surprise flickering across her face at his sudden interest, soon replaced by a light grin, "Oh, he is my brother." She said with a light shrug of her shoulders. "We were just messing about for a bit and he tried to get me to come to- er, well, whatever this place is..." Suri paused, rolling her eyes, "As you can see, it worked somehow. Although I bet you're glad it did, huh?" She stopped nervously, the realization of the situation beginning to dawn on her.
"W-well, I hate to ask, but how did you even manage to get down here?" She questioned as she stepped over to him once more, frowning as she examined the chains binding him to the wall. "And I know you didn't just come down here and do it yourself, so you may as well kill two birds with one stone and tell me what you know."
