[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]nick's mom had pulled him out of school two years ago. as soon as the incidences started happening. he didn't know what was wrong with him and his mom would never tell him anything. she would just go about his father and curse his name. things like that. nick never knew his dad, but from how his mom talked about him he really didn't want to get to know him.

nick hadn't had an incident in a while. it normally only happened when he was mad or when he was asleep. you see nick couldn't turn into any animal he liked. he had to of seen the animal in person, but that was just about his only limitation.

he normally got really mad and transformed into a lion or so other kind of vicious pretor. his mother was scared for his safety so she let him leave the house less and less often, but today she left him leave. he decided to go to the park, have some quiet time and alone time.

the sixteen year old sat on a park bench and leaned back a little closing his eyes. most of the time when he left the house he got into trouble. he had even ended up in jail before, but it was only because he had a hard time controlling his rage. [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 330px; height: 550px] So, her first solo mission. After begging and waiting so long, Rachel couldn't lie. This mission was boring. She'd dreamed of being a hero, saving people, fighting epic battles, ever since she had started her training so many years ago. Earlier that day, Logan- or Wolverine as he was more commonly known- asked her if she would do something for him, and the teen had readily accepted, thinking of all sorts of things he could have for her. But no, he had asked to her to go pick up some random mutant boy he was concerned about. The kind of common mission that popped up every once in awhile and never had any sort of awesome action to it. Ugh.
She jogged down the street, passing briefly through a park. The boy would be sixteen, he had said, and looked like a normal boy, only he could turn into animals. Rachel had to admit, that was a pretty awesome power. Not as cool as hers though. Defying gravity? Who could want anything else? Yeah, she couldn't fly, and he hadn't inherited the wings her father possessed, but she could float, do impossible parkour, balance easily on practically nothing- yeah, basically what a super spy would desperately want.
The girl was wearing normal attire, a t-shirt, jeans, sneakers, and whatnot. At least she wasn't like Nightcrawler, who looked like a blue demon. She could pass for normal. The park she was walking through wasn't that busy, despite it being a nice day out. The breeze blew her loose brown hair around her shoulders as her blue eyes kept constantly alert for whoever could fit the bill of this lost mutant kid. Logan had seemed pretty concerned about him, a concern that was rare for the short man. Was someone else looking for the boy too? She huffed, doubting it. Logan hadn't even given her his name. He couldn't be that special.

where he lived was a small town. most people knew everyone there. he opened his eyes and saw a girl. a girl he was pretty sure he had never seen before. maybe she was new. he hadn't gone to school in a while so maybe she had transferred or he had just never noticed her before. he kept staring at her until he finally looked away. maybe he was just being paranoid.

nicholas couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about this girl. something different about her. he went back to closing his eyes. if she came over here then he was know something was absolutly up.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; overflow: auto; width: 330px; height: 130px] Rachel was looking around the park when she noticed a boy sitting alone. He looked about sixteen, and even had some of the same features as Logan, which she found weird. This was probably her man, but she couldn't be sure. Suddenly feeling awkward, the teen stepped over to the boy, feeling a similarity with him that she hadn't felt since leaving the school and mansion. She felt awkward, but also alert and wary. If this really was the boy, who knows how he would react to her? Or who else was around?
"Hey," She said, waving a pale hand, "You alright? You look like kind of lonely here all alone." She stood there with her arms crossed, looking down at him with wide eyes, muscles tense.

"i like being alone." he told her as he kept staring at her. he didn't want to be rude.

"why are you here?" he asked her with curiosity trying not to sound rude. "you don't live around here." he observed as he looked past her. he had people come up to him before claim he was something he wasn't. he normally wasn't to happy with those people. he just had a condition. that was all.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; overflow: auto; width: 330px; height: 130px] Being alone? Who liked being alone? She certainly didn't, at least not for long periods of time. She glanced around briefly for something to lean on, but saw nothing close, so she continued standing there with her arms crossed. The boy seemed curious, although he was trying to hide it. And failing, obviously. The female couldn't help but smirk as he asked her questions.
"I've come to talk to you, and no, I don't live around here," Rachel told him, matching his raised eyebrow by arching one of her own. "Do you have any sort of... Abilities no one else does?" She asked, thinking that if he didn't, this was going to be one of the most embarrassing conversations ever. She'd look like some sort of crazy person. Which she was, but not in that way.

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]nick suddenly frowned. he knew it. he knew this girl was up to no good with him. he sighed and shook his head. "You know people ask me that all the time and i am starting to get tired of it." he said. he never really thought there was anyone out there like him. he didn't believe that there was.

he slowly stood up and crossed his arms over his chest. "i have a condition. my mom says it's because of my dad." he muttered. he didn't know why he was telling this girl this, but she didn't seem like she was going to kill him or something. she just wanted to come and point at the freak like the rest of them.

[fancypost borderwidth=0px; overflow: auto; width: 330px; height: 130px] At the mention of 'other people', Rachel frowned and narrowed her eyes. What other people, exactly? Before she got the chance to ask, the other teen had moved on, defending himself. That brought the smile back to her face. Cute. She untangled her arms and ran a hand swiftly through her hair. "A condition from your dad, huh? A condition of shape shifting into animals, I've heard," She told him, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet. So this boy's dad had to be a mutant, since his mom was apparently not. His similarities to Logan made her wonder, but she didn't let her thoughts stray too far.
"You're not alone, buddy," She told him, her mouth twisting into another grin. "I know all about having conditions, as you call them."

"how did you know about that?" he questioned.

then she went on to talk about how he wasn't alone. he rolled his eyes. "i'm not buying it. you say i'm not alone?" he said getting a little ticked off at the girl. an idea sparked in his brain as he crossed his arms and looked her in the eyes. "prove it." he said.

We watch for people like you," She told him, wondering why he was so suspicious. Then again, if someone walked up to her and started doing what she was, Rachel would be pretty suspicious too. She must look crazy to him. Wait, now he wanted a demonstration? The girl's eyes brightened as she took a bow as if to say 'as you wish', then cracked her knuckles and focused, holding her hands almost straight out beside her if she were on a balance beam. She could do this easily back at the mansion, but the elements were a little different out here in the open.
She felt her feet lift off the ground until she was maybe two feet off the grassy ground below. Then she turned and performed a cartwheel, with nothing on her body touching the ground. If there had been a wall nearby, she could have walked across that, but for now, the open space would have to do. "Believe me now, Animal Man?" Rachel asked, taking a seat from her hovering position.

Rachel jumped to her feet, landing on the ground again. Good! He believed her! Now came the next hard part. "I'm here to take you to a place- a school, actually- where they teach kids and adults with abilities like ours to be the best they can be," She explained, gesturing with her hands as she did so "You know superheroes? Captain America and all that? Well, we're taught to be kind of like them. Oh, and villains are real too. Not to freak you out or anything, but they are there." She shrugged as if it was all no big deal. Which it really wasn't, to her.
"Oh! And I'm Rachel Worthington," The teen introduced herself, holding out a hand, "My parents were mutants, so my thing was kind of hereditary. Yours, however, I don't know. I'm assuming your parents don't have any powers, right? Otherwise you wouldn't be sulking out here."

Yeah, this was quite a bit to take in all at once. He looked a little alarmed, as if all of this scared him. For some reason, she found that amusing. Haha.
"So either he was like you, or you just happened to be special," The light-eyed girl said with a shrug, "Nice to meet you Nick! She added, knowing at least that was not rushing. This mission wasn't too bad. It was kind of nice, to get out and look around the world and meet new people. And if Nick here decided to go to the school, she'd probably get to know him a whole lot better. Not that she was looking forward to or anything, she was just thinking realistically.

Why wouldn't he want to come? "From the looks of it, you don't have much of a life, buddy. You want the 'incidents' to stop happening? You gotta come with me," She told him, seriously this time. "We can't have rogue mutants running around by themselves. Potential hazards and all that." She stuck her hands in her pockets, wondering if maybe she would have to use force. No, Logan said to wait until a desperate need to use that. And she wasn't desperate, so simple reasoning was in order for now.

But he needed to. She could understand loyalties to family, but it was just a school. He could come back and visit her, it wasn't like they would keep him in a prison. But he was still walking away.
She decided to follow after him anyways, maybe keep an eye on him over the next day or so until he changed his mind. If he was going to his house, at least she would know where that was in case she had to come back sometime. She was also beginning to rethink the easiness of this mission. To leave a life behind to start a new one? Never experienced it, yet she was asking someone else to.

"Alright, thanks. I can come too! Maybe if she sees someone from there, she'll be more willing to let you go," If his dad was really Wolverine... It hadn't struck her before, but his last name.
