  • Ivan's heart constricted in fear as he saw the bit of blood trickling out Joanna's nose.

That can't be good... he thought to himself as he hurried the princess back towards the healer's den. Hang on, Princess!

Lizzie's brow furrowed as she saw how bad her friend's condition really was.

Jethro... something's wrong with Joanna... I'm with a strange male and we're bringing her to you! she told him.

Jethro frowned sadly at Marina's words and hugged his daughter back, then shook his head.

"No, I'm glad you told me..." he said. "I will go see Torren when you return to Blood Moon in a few days."

He then frowned as he looked towards the entrance to the healer's den.

"Lacy, I want you to mix some more comphrey." he told his daughter softly as he gently stepped back from the hug. "Brody, you were watching as I mixed jars 3-5, right."

    Brody nodded.

"Get me jars 1, 6, 7 and 9." he told his son. "Then mix 3-5 as I did. Make sure to get it right. Joanna's life depends on it."

Brody nodded and Thane turned to Jethro.

    "What's happening?"

"It seems your daughter has taken a turn for the worse." Jethro said without preamble. "Ivan and Lizzie are heading this way with her as we speak."

  • Shakota huffed a sign Fine, it's not like I have much of a choice...I can't live in a run down den...I don't have anything anyways! She says and shoke out her fur, and then started to walk back to the camp.

  • Joanna's brow knitted together as the pain grew stronger. The blood from her would was now soaking her white hair. Her hand unconsciously gripped his shirt to show she heard him.

Marina nodded and walked over to Thane. She gently set a hand on his shoulder. She prayed the princess would be alright.

Lacy quickly and carefully mix the herbal water again for the princess.

Madeline walked over to Jethro and pulled out a small pouch. "Here take this, it has a fire lily inside." She said as she handed it to him.

  • Brody handed his father the jars he had asked for and immediately started working on the poultice made from jars 3-5.

    Jethro smiled at Madeline.

    "Thank you, milady." he said.

Fire lily was exceptionally rare and could heal almost any injury. He wondered if they had tried giving it to Torren, but then reasoned they had to have.

Thane stood rigid, not seeming to even feel Marina's hand on his shoulder. .Jethro cast a glance at the Alpha.

"Alpha, you will wait outside." not a question.

    No reaction.

    "Alpha, did you hear me?"

    Nothing.

    "Thane!"

    Thane looked over at Jethro.

"You will wait outside while we-"

Just then Ivan rushed in carrying Joanna, followed by Lizzie.

"Where do you want the princess?" Ivan asked.

"Put her down on that bed." Jethro showed where. "Now I must ask that everyone but my pups leave the den."

"I'm not going anywhere." Ivan's answer was immediate and absolute.

"You will do as I say, boy, and no arguments." Jethro said. "We cannot work when you are all under foot and paw. I realize you are all anxious about the princess... but I ask that you have faith and allow my pups and I to do our job!"

Lizzie gently grabbed onto Ivan's arm, but Ivan merely shrugged her off. Edward moved closer in case he was needed. Brody looked up at his father from where he had been working.

"Please don't fight with father... he knows best." he said, an anxious look on his young face. "And father... I'm ready this side."

Jared sighed and he and his warriors followed Shatoka as she made her way back to camp. Jared moved next to the she-wolf.

I'm sorry you lost everyone you know, Shatoka. he told her gently. But if you want... you can start over in the Deep Forest pack...

He left his offer hanging for her to accept or reject.

  • "You're welcome Uncle Jethro." Madeline said as she smiled at him. She then turned to her cousin and walked over to him. "Ivan, let's take a walk." She then dragged him out of the den.

Marina gently led Thane out of the den too. "She'll be alright, Thane." She said softly.

Lacy carried the herbal water to the princess and started to carefully unwrap her head. She froze when the princess let out a weak cry. "Papa, we have to hurry." She whimpered as she continued to unwrap Joanna's head.

  • Jethro smiled at Madeline as she walked over to Ivan.

Lizzie and Edward followed, marveling how Madeline managed to drag an irate Ivan out of the den still stuttering objections and threats but not doing much about it.

Thane nodded listlessly, then sighed. He really wanted to believe Marina's words. But he knew a head injury like Joanna's could have all kinds of complications. Although he did have utmost faith in Jethro's abilities. He had been well taught and had taught his pups well in turn. Both had the makings of excellent healers.

Seeing the injury as Lacy unwrapped it, Jethro swore under his breath.

"Lacy, clean the wound with the comphrey." he told his daughter. "But first, let me pour some into this glass..."

Jethro quickly poured the comphrey into a bowl where he had mixed his other herbs, then added the fire lily and mixed it all together again before pouring it into a glass.

"Brody, once your sister has cleaned the wound with the comphrey, apply your poultice." he told his son, before moving to Joanna's front. "I'll give the princess this potion.... and I suggest we all start praying to Lupus that it is not too late..."

  • "Ivan Blood Moon, you need to cut that out." Madeline snapped at him. "You being angry won't make things better."

Marina looked at him sadly and gently took his arm. "Thane, let me make you some tea. It'll help I promise." She said as she led him to his den.

Lacy carefully cleaned the wound as best she could. She then looked at her brother and said, "Your turn Brody."

  • She watches as Jared leaves her side and flicks an ear, before finding a shade to lay in turning her back to everyone else's.

Shakota heard the words the rogue said in her ears it played like a broken record and couldn't stop thinking about it, she shifted back to normal and climbed up a tree sitting on a thick branch watching the snowy mountains.

  • Jared looked over at Shakota.

Shakota...? he called gently. Are you not coming?

Ivan glared at the ground, not trusting himself to be civil at the moment. He may be stubborn and hotheaded, but he was never, ever, rude to Madeline. However, he knew she was right. He had to stop taking anger at himself out on others.

Thane merely nodded at Marina's words as he let her lead him to his den. In his head, he was still in the healing den with his daughter. He then sighed.

"I'm sorry, Marina." he said softly. "I shouldn't be burdening you with my problems. You have enough of your own to bear."

Brody nodded and then carefully applied the poultice and then rewrapped Joanna's head with clean dressing as Jethro continued to pour little sips of potion down Joanna's throat.

Come on, girl... Jethro growled silently. I've known you your whole life and you've never backed down from a fight. So why are you backing down when you're meant to be fighting for your life...!

  • She signs and got down not even talking to him...just looked at him and then at her feet as she walked again, she wonder where Clayton went, but then again what did it matter to her anyways.

How did Ed injury himself? She finally asked.

  • Jared smiled softly as Shatoka joined him again and they started walking back to the camp. They weren't too far by this time. He sighed at Shatoka's question, knowing his answer was just another reason for the she-wolf to hate Keith.

He didn't... he told her reluctantly. Keith, the rogue who attacked you, bit Ed's front paw when we were all distracted in an attempt to escape. However, it didn't work. We managed to keep him in the healer's den. He's been sent to another den now and he's being guarded until the spell is lifted and will probably be guarded even then.

  • Madeline looked at him and said, "She'll be alright."

Marina waved a hand in the air dismissively and said, "Thane that is your little girl. She is still young and shouldn't have to die." She then opened the door for him.

Lacy watched with tears in her eyes.

Joanna took sips and felt a sudden burn in her head. It wasn't a painful burn, but a soothing one. Her tense features relaxed as she felt the burn mending the damage done.

  • Ivan sighed.

"I hope you're right, Maddie." he muttered.

"She is." Lizzie said. "You don't know Joanna... she's a fighter... she won't give up without a fight."

"That's what I thought of my father..." Ivan snapped back at her. "And gee... that worked out great!"

Realising what he had said to a complete stranger, Ivan stormed off to the den which had been prepared for him, Madeline and Marina. This was the first time he had voiced his feelings, even a little, since Torren had become ill.

Thane smiled slightly as Marina made light of her own problems and worries in the face of his own. He shook his head as he followed her into his den with a small smile.

    "Thank you."

Once he was finished, Brody put away the poultice then returned to Joanna. Realising how upset his twin was, he gently hugged Lacy.

It's okay... she's going to make it. he told her silently. I've just got this feeling... have faith in Joanna, Lacy.

Jethro still bore the frown of concentration on his face as he looked down at Joanna, although he sighed softly as he saw her relax slightly. At this point, anything positive was a good sign.

  • Madeline turned to Lizzie and said, "I'm sorry about my cousin. His father is a fighter just like your princess. Sadly he is very ill and only has few months left. He and Joanna are betrothed and this is hitting him hard."

Marina smiled softly as she made some tea for the two of them. When it was done she poured two cups and walked over to him. "Here, drink this. It'll make you feel better." She said tenderly.

Lacy hugged her brother back and said, I do have faith in her. I just don't like seeing her like this.

Joanna moved her head slightly and mumbled, "Jethro.......want.......Ivan....."

  • She signs "Am I going to be forbidden to leave the camp? Because I'm some special wolf or what? This world...I wish I just stayed with the hunters, but they were no good to me either...why did I come into this supernatural world?" She says as she kicks a rock "I hope Ed is okay."

Shakota runs her hands through her dark blonde hair and puts it into a pony tail taking a deep breath, "I wish my...what...not real dad who wants me dead told me the truth."

  • OOC:

    Hi guys sorry...

    IC:

Lizzie frowned as she listened to what Madeline told her.

"No wonder the poor guy is so short tempered... that really sucks..." she murmured as if to herself. "First his father... now his betrothed... well, at least I have faith that Jo- err, the Princess will make it."

    She sighed.

"Come, we need to go to the wolf being held under house arrest." she reminded Madeline. "I have a spell to lift."

    Thane smiled at Marina.

"Thank you..." he told her as he took a sip. "You always seem to know what to say in any given situation. And your tea is delicious too. Calm under pressure, beauty, wit, the perfect hostess, even though you're the guest..."

    He grinned sadly.

    "I must admit- I'm jealous."

Brody turned his head and gently kissed his sister's cheek.

I know it sucks seeing her like this... he told her. But I know that papa won't let anything happen to her and I know that soon Joanna will be herself again... and this will all be like a bad dream... so cheer us, Lacy. Let us do our best to help papa and Joanna too. And maybe she'll get better sooner.

As he heard Joanna's murmurs, Jethro turned to his twins.

"Brody. Will you do me a favour?" he said. "Can you go find Prince I van and ask him to come here?"

    He turned back to Joanna.

"If the princess is asking for him, things may not be as bad as I thought."

Brody nodded and let go of his sister, running out of the healer's den. Jethro looked back at Joanna.

Or... it could be so bad she wants to say goodbye... he added silently to himself, although he doubted that was the case. Come on ,Joanna... you're a strong, independent young female with a fiercely strong spirit. So fight!

    Jared sighed.

"No, I don't think you'll be banned from leaving the camp... but please don't come out here by yourself, okay?" he said. "Bring Ed or one of the warriors with you. That way we can make sure you're protected."

He smirked as Shatoka said she hoped Ed was okay.

"Hey, what I know about rogues, their hard to kill." he said. "I'm sure your beau is just fine and probably pacing a rut in the floor waiting for you to come home."

  • OOC: it's alright Nat. no worries

IC: Madeline smiled and said, "Yes I think Joanna will make it." She then nodded and led Lizzie to Keith's den.

Marina smiled and said, "I found that if you freak out it makes everything worse." She then tilted her head slightly and asked, "why would you be jealous?"

Lacy nodded and watched her brother go.

    Joanna winced and said, "I'm......all....right."
