[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]roy sat idly on a park bench. he barely moved one way or the other. he felt numb to the world around him. the young boy had just been told he had cancer and not just the 'kill you within a few years'. it was the fun kind. he had been told he would lose his eyes within a couple of weeks.

the brown haired boy had now come up with a bucket-list, of things he wanted to see before they took his eyes away. some of the things were impossible to do. like go to paris and see things he had never seen, but right now he was appreciating the small things.

he leaned his head back closing his eyes, soaking in the sun light. he watched the children play on the swings and slide down the slide. he was angry with the world right now. what would he do without his eyes? what if he met a pretty girl? how would he know what she looked like? he wouldn't.

the seventeen-year-old ran his hands though his hair. he took in a deep breath. he'd be okay. he knew that he would be.

I walked through the park with a soft sigh, a small smile on my cheeks. I was new in this town and I hadn't really made any friends, it kind of sucked. It was summer and I had nobody to spend it with, plus I have been feeling sick sometimes. It wasn't all of the time, just every now and then. I would throw up and I'd be fine, I figured that it had to be the new environment. I was fine today, hence why I decided to take a nice stroll in the park. Mom said they I was sixteen and I shouldn't be cooped up inside all day.

So, here I am and I'm pretty bored since all I have seen are children. I promised myself that I would talk to the first person my age that I saw and that, happened to be a boy sitting on a bench. He was pretty cute with curly brown hair and dark eyes, of course he would be the first person I meet. I took a deep breath and sat down next to him, a blush on my cheeks."It's kind of peaceful, isn't it?"I said as I looked at the children playing on the playground."My name is Marley."I added with a small smile.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]roy almost jumped as someone sat down next to him. he contained his surprise. he didn't really expect anyone to come sit next to him out of their own free-will. he looked over at the attractive girl that had sat down next to him, with a side-ways glance.

he agreed with her first statement giving her a small nod. he wanted to spare this girl the trouble of getting to know him. she looked like a nice girl. "marley." he repeated as he smiled a little bit at her. "that's a nice name. it's different." he said. he hadn't met very many marleys, but he only had seventeen years to meet one.

"roy." he said simply and he stared at her for a while longer, taking in all of her features; her eyes, her hair. "so what brings you to the park today, marley?" he asked curiously.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; height: 200px; width: 200px; font-family: bookman oldstyle; color: white; text-align: justify; overflow: auto;]
I chuckled at his words."A lot of people think that it's different. Mom didn't want me to have the same name as the other girls at school."I told him as I took a moment to remember his name."Roy, that's a nice name. It fits you. It's short too, I liked short names. They are simple, not too complicated."I said with a grin. I couldn't help but smile at his question, what was I doing here? I just shrugged and looked down at my lap."I'm new to town and I haven't made any friends yet. I promised myself that I would talk to the first person that looked to be my age and you were the lucky winner."I replied as I looked up at the sky."It's hard to make friends, not to mention. That I never really had many friends to begin with so I don't really know how to make them?"I asked.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]"why thank you. i also do enjoy my name." roy smirked a little at the girl and he tilted his head to the side. he couldn't help but keep staring at her. if this girl needed friends who would he be to deny her to right of his being.

"you've never had many friends?" roy said as he was surprised. "oh that is a lie." he said with a laugh. he throw his head back a bit then stopped and looked at her. "you look like you would be the most popular girl in school." he said then looked at her with more of a soft smile. he was home schooled though. he wasn't going to tell her that though it would just burst his bubble. his brown eyes sparkled as he stared at her.

I blushed at his word, my blue eyes casted downwards. I simply shrugged and looked away."They thought that I was nerdy. I'm really good at school and I answer all the questions that the teachers asked. They hated it, I just didn't realize that being smart was such a bad thing. My mom had to move for work so i was happy. I could make new friends."I said with a small smile as I looked at him, his eyes were so pretty and brown. I loved the way they seem to sparkle."You seemed upset before I sat down, what's wrong?"I asked him timidly as I rubbed the back of my head.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]"the nerdy ones are always the pretty ones, eh?" roy questioned her with a growing smile. he knew nothing about public school. he had been pulled out of school before he reached second grade so he didn't really remember any of it. he had had cancer for a while now. every time they had tried to remove it in the past it was unsuccessful. now it had finally moved and reached his eyes. it was rare, and of course it had to happen to him of all people.

he smile went away when she asked him what had been troubling him before. "well, i wouldn't want to concern a girl i just met with my troubles." he told her. he stopped staring at her finally and looked back toward the playground full of children.

"but you seem like the type of girl that won't take no for answer. so i will tell you. if you tell me something about yourself in return." the seventeen-year-old said as he turned his whole body toward her. his legs on either side of the bench. "i was told i only have a week left until they pry my eyes out of my skull because my cancer moved and now it's in my eyes." he said. "gruesome really, but that's just the world we live in."

My blush grew even redder when he basically called me pretty. Nobody had ever said something like that to me before, it made feel happy and it made my heart beat rapidly. I noticed how he suddenly seemed a little sad and I was shocked at what he had to say, he was going to be blind? That was so sad, no wonder he was so upset. I looked down at my lap before I looked at him."Some blind people have seeing eye dogs, mainly because they feel no one else will ever accept them. I'll be your seeing eye girl."I then looked horrified and I hugged my knees to my chest, burying my eyes on them."Ohmygod, thatsoundedsocreepy!"I rambled. That's when I remembered I needed to say something about myself."My father died infront of me."I added softly as I looked away from him.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]roy let out a soft chuckle when she said that she would be his 'seeing eye girl'. "i like the sound of that. roy and his seeing eye girl marley." he joked as he turned back around so both of his legs hung in front of the bench and his back had a place to rest. "that's reassuring that it's creepy." he joked.

he had a motto that life was to short to be serious. he told himself that ever since he got dignosed with this terrible disease. so he tried to be as care free as possible which was hard sometimes. his smile went away when she told him her dad died right in front of her. if he knew anything it was how tried he was of people saying they were sorry for him.

"well, that sucks." he said. "but i meant something happy!" he said enthusiasticly. "we shouldn't look at the bad stuff that has happened in our life, but that good stuff, right?" he questioned as he titled his head to the side.

I smiled at his words as I kissed his cheek."I'm serious though, if you feel lonely than I'm here. If you are here and alone like I am, then I'm guessing you don't really have many friends either."I said as I started coughing, my stomach pains acting up again. I coughed again and put my hand over my mouth. I looked at my hand and was surprised to see that it was sprinkled with blood. I looked at my hands with wide eyes before looking at Roy. Great, now this had to start happening. Who wanted to hang out with the girl who coughs blood. I stood up and swayed slightly before I threw up, but there was blood in it. I was scared now, what was going on with me. I had to act like this was normal."Oops, this is one of the side effects of some medication that I'm on."I lied.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]the boys chestnut eyes widened in surprise as he looked at marley with complete and udder concern. he quickly stood up. "are you okay?" he asked as he slowly stood at her side.

he narrowed his eyes when she said it was just a side effect of her medication. he had the feeling something wasn't right. "marley, medication doesn't make you throw up blood." he said. he was no longer smiling his eyes were full of concern and worry. "you can tell me the truth. i have freaking cancer in my eyes. you can tell me." he said.

I just shook my head as I coughed again."I don't know what's wrong with me. Everything just hurts and I hate it."I said softly as the waves of pain started to pass. That's what usually happened. It would come and go in small waves. It took a few minutes, but it passed. I stood up straight and blushed."I'm sorry, It happens sometimes. You're probably really grossed out."I muttered as I looked away. I don't know why he would be so worried about me. I coughed and sniffled."I'm scared."I admitted.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]roy looked at her and let out a small soft sigh. he was slightly relived that she had done, but whatever was wrong with this girl he knew that he couldn't be anything good. "i'm not grossed out." he said with a small laugh. "after most of my life being spent in a hospital it takes a lot to gross me out."

"but in all seriousness. you should really go get that checked out." he said. "coughing up blooding often is not a sign of good health." he said. he didn't know why he was so worried about her.

  • [shadow=black,left]Marley Rose Austine• •[/shadow]
[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; height: 200px; width: 200px; font-family: bookman oldstyle; color: white; text-align: justify; overflow: auto;]
I shook my head at his words."No! They'll stick me with needles and put things down my throat! I couldn't stand it if they did that to me!"I felt my face suddenly get red as I all but admitted my fear of the doctors. I was such an idiot! How could I just blurt that out? My only memory of the hospital was where they took my father and that wasn't a very good memory at all. It was one of my worst and I wanted nothing more than to erase it from my mind."I don't want to go alone and my mom is too busy to take me."I added softly as I looked away from him.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]"needles aren't that bad." roy promised with a smile. the needles were nothing compared to being diagnosed with cancer. even though he was young and barley remembered it, he could imagine how hard it would be.

"i'll take you." he told her as he stood up a little closer. "i'll even drive you there." he suggested.

I shrugged and just wrapped my arms around myself."It sounds so stupid, doesn't it? I feel like such an idiot for being so scared of a little doctor's visit."I said softly before a large smile made its way onto my face at his next words."Y-You'll take me? Really?"I asked him, I was just happy that I didn't have to go alone. I couldn't even drive yet so I would have no way of even getting there if I wanted to go."I'm sorry if I sound childish, it's just that...people die in hospitals."I muttered as I looked away from him. I hated the idea of death and death was everywhere in hospitals.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=#212121 borderwidth=0px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: black; margin-top: 0px; letter-spacing: 0px;]roy made a face a crossed his arms over his chest. he made a pouty puppy dog face. "you wouldn't want me start crying would you?" he said as he started to make this lip quiver.

"do it for me, please." he begged her. he ran his hands though his curly brown hair and stopped with his pouty face. "i'm not used to not getting my way, marley." he said as he stared at her.
