Tornleaf woke up to the welcoming warmth of morning sunlight. The bright rays shone down on the pure nature terrain, light bursting through the thin canopy onto the numerous cats gathered under it, walking around hunting, training, and patrolling. Clouds drifted peacefully across the vast, infinite blue sky, forming many different abstract figures within minutes. Three kits were outside gazing at the skyward puffs, naming all the different shapes they could see, and rolling around in the grass.
“I see... A white blob!” One giggled, rolling over.
“Well, I see a blobby mouse!” Another stated.
“That's 'cause it changed, Fernkit!” The first one argued.
“Dustkit, you're dumb,” the third one commented.
“YOU'RE stupid, Lilackit!” Dustkit retorted.
Tornleaf, now emerged from the dark warrior den, smiled at the kits' frivolous bickering. He came closer to supervise them.
“Now, guys. Does it really matter?” Lionpaw, a young apprentice padded over and asked.
“Yeah, 'cause she called me dumb!” Dustkit tattled.
“But he called me stupid!” Lilackit snarled.
Tornleaf simply watched as the younger cats negotiated. After the kits calmed down, Lionpaw explained how what shape the cloud was didn't matter, as long as they had fun watching clouds. He couldn't help but titter at their silly argument, but attempted to stifle the laughter the best he could.
Now that the kits had returned to a happier state, Tornleaf cocked his head to watch the last few moments of the sun seemingly ascending into the sky, its rays penetrating the clouds and leaves. He had always enjoyed watching sunsets and surveying the beautiful territory in general. Each time, it was different but the same. It was all the same trees, bushes, flowers, and cats, but they all did different things every time Tornleaf was pensive and nonchalantly looked around at an amazing example of the beauty of nature. He stared off into space, everything meeting his deep, noble violet eyes to create a gorgeous, peaceful sight. The soft grass felt nice and comfortable on Tornleaf's paws, especially after a long day and his paws were sore. He also appreciated the tranquility and lack of war and fighting in the moment. Everyone was getting along together so well, Glacierclan didn't even seem like the savage warriors they really were. Tornleaf really enjoyed precious momemts like this one.
Suddenly, a colorful butterfly fluttered into the camp. Its vibrant hues and quick, darting movements stimulated the kits' excitement. They leaped over each other in pursuit of the unusual visitor. Dustkit reached his paws out for it, but the butterfly evaded even the hardest efforts of the kits. It flew off into the sky, an orange speck in the very contrasting blue sky, still dappled with the clouds of various shapes and sizing, floating steadily through the air.
“Aww,” Fernkit mewed, seeing the last of the butterfly.
“Well, it was a good and cooperative effort,” Tornleaf complimented. Whenever he didn't catch something, he always thought something along the lines of that.
“Plus, even if we didn't catch the butterfly, at least it's gonna be a fabulous day!“ Fernkit mewed optimistically.
“Who do you know?” Dustkit challenged.
“We just do,” Fernkit responded, Lilackit and Tornleaf chiming in.
