  • "Yes," said Damian simply after saying nothing for a few moments. "Again, faith is key, and so is trust. Trust that you will make it and your dragon will then place his trust in you. He'll trust you to keep him from harm while you're in the air, just as you'll trust him to not let you get hurt."

"It's what I do best, Koora," said Alea, raising a hand to stroke the beautiful bird's feathers. "What news from the eastern lands? You must have travelled to the Sanctuary over the course of the days you've been away."

  • Dawn nodded in understanding. Turning her attention back to the stump stairs, she looked up at the farthest steps. She let out a breath in attempt to calm her nerves and soon after she took the first step up. Focusing up ahead and repeating the two words 'faith' and 'trust' in her mind, she advanced up the stumps.

Nothing bad, Alea, replied the white bird, its dark round eyes staring up at the elf. Same as usual. Except... I have overheard interesting news at the Sanctuary. The Riders are overjoyed, for two new young Riders have joined their group just recently.

  • Damian watched as his apprentice made progress. "Not to try and psych you out," he called up to her. "But imagine that each step, your dragon's taking you farther away from the safety of the ground. Trust in your dragon, that he will not let you fall."

Alea seemed to pause in her stroking of the baby bunny at the news and carefully took Koora from her shoulder and instead made it so that the bird was actually perched on her knee. "New Riders?" She questioned, her eyes glittering softly. "Tell me more, Koora. I must know of these two new Riders. What are they? What are their dragons, male or female? Who's training them?"
"Calm down, Mistress," said the dragon with a soft rumble.
"You know I get excited when new Riders appear," she said softly, pushing her black hair behind her ear. "But please, do tell me what you've heard, Koora."

  • "R-Right..." Dawn muttered, inhaling in a shaky breath before concentrating on the steps before her while picturing herself on her dragon's back. Trust... The longer she continued to go on, the easier it seemed to be to climb up the stumps. For one thing it felt easier to walk on than the smooth surface of the log. Slowly but surely Dawn made her way up, close to the end.

Koora nodded at Alea before responding to her questions. This is what I've heard - the new Riders are quite young. One is a boy, the other a girl. The boy is said to be an elf while the girl is human. He and his female dragon are being trained by Calanon and the girl and her male dragon are being trained by Damian. The bird then shook out its feathers before continuing. And in case you are wondering, Alea, Calanon is doing fine.

  • Damian nodded slowly as he saw her progress. "Good," he called up to her. "Once you reach the top, come on down so we can begin the next part of your training."

Alea almost nearly froze at the news that there was another dragoness that had hatched. "I thought Aladon to be the only dragoness alive," rumbled the green dragon, raising his head and blowing out a small puff of smoke.
"I knew there was something special about that white egg," Alea breathed softly, giving Koora a soft stroke across the back with a gentle hand. "I just couldn't place it. Now she's hatched, for another one of my kind." Alea sounded relieved at that thought.

"I'm glad that the Elven Riders aren't dying off now," she looked back at the beautiful white bird and gave her a soft rub across her chest for a moment. "What's the boy like?" She asked. "Do the Riders know his story? What about his friend, the human?" Upon hearing that Calanon was doing great, Alea nodded. "It's great that Calanon finally mentors a new student. It's been too long since his last one." She shook her head for a moment and motioned toward the bird for a moment. "Please, continue."

  • f(Back, good morning! Oh wait, afternoon xDD)

Dawn gave the slight nod of her head as she continued and finally reached the top step. Yes...! She thought, releasing a relieved sigh. Then slowly turning around she carefully descended down the stumps. It was easier than going up, and soon she reached the solid ground.

Koora nodded once more, releasing the softest hum at Alea's gentle strokes. I don't know too much of the details myself. But I have heard the two children happened to stumble by the Sanctuary accidentally. It seems that they were running away from something. Koora slowly shook her head, feeling pitiful for the boy and girl. They are from the nearby human village.

  • (lol hi ^_^ i took a power nap, having woken up too early and my body needed rest XD)

Damian gave a nod of his head once his student reached the ground again. "Good," he said, sounding rather proud of her. "Now comes a tricky part. I don't know how many times you've ridden a horse, but I have a feeling you've always ridden with tack." Damian moved away from his tree and stood in the center of the training area, arms to his sides. "You've got to learn balance on an animal's back....without the safety gear to keep you from falling off." Damian grinned and lifted a hand to his mouth slowly. "It's time for you to meet my horse." He took a deep breath and gave a rather loud whistle that seemed to ring through the trees.

A loud neigh answered him several minutes later and through the trees, a moving white pelt could be seen. Minutes later, the stallion entered the clearing and slowed down, moving toward his Master with a snort and a toss of his head. "Hello, my beautiful Snowfire," Damian said gently, running a hand down the stallion's neck. The stallion responded with a gentle nicker and shoved his muzzle against Damian's chest for a brief moment before turning to look at Dawn with curious eyes.

Alea frowned at the mention of the children's origin. "The village?" She questioned, looking down at the little bunny for a moment, whose nose twitched cutely. "No one from that village even knows where the Sanctuary's at. How could two children stumble upon it accidentally? And who were they running from?"

  • (Loll I love naps but I hate the feeling you get after waking up from a nap xD Its like ur half dead)

Dawn returned the horse's look with a kind expression, but also with awe. "He's beautiful," she commented, eyes studying the horse's body from head to tail. Having experience with horses from the past, she knew better than to quickly approach any horse. She slowly made her way over and walked towards her mentor, but stopped a good distance away from the stallion.

From whom they were running from I do not know. I apologize, replied Koora in the elf's mind. And as for how they came across the Sanctuary, the boy is an elf after all. No regular human could find that place, so it must have been him.

  • (especially if you wake up early/don't go to bed and try an all nighter and you take a nap. it's worse XD)

Snowfire flicked an ear for a moment, the movement going toward Dawn and then going in two different directions. "Snow's a calm guy," said Damian, giving the stallion's shoulder a pat. "Okay. Go on, then. Show me what you can do."

Alea's heart skipped a beat. "Elf," she breathed quietly, her hand pausing on Koora's back. "Then he's alive..."

  • (Yup. At this point my sleep routine is so messed up that even if I'm at home all day doing nothing but go on the computer, I feel tired. xD)

Dawn had hesitated for a moment before she walked over to Damian and his horse. Slowly Dawn reached out a hand towards Snowfire, and gently began to stroke him by the neck. "What am I supposed to do exactly??"

'He'?? Asked Koora, her head tilting to one side. By him, could you mean... your son, Alea??

  • (D: That's not good >.< lol what do you do that made your sleep schedule so out of wack?)

"Balance," said Damian simply, rubbing the stallion's forehead and fixing the forelock. "Apply what you just learned on the back of a pretty much unpredictable animal. Once you've mastered this, you'll be ready to fly."

At Koora's question, Alea gave a small nod. "Yes," she breathed quietly. "And he has a dragon?"

  • (Lol yeaa its not good. xD Well nothing really. I guess its bc I'm always up late watching something or reading, and then wake up rly late the next day hahaa).

Dawn nodded slowly as she listened to her mentor. It seemed to make more sense now, but again it was easier said than done. "U-Understood." She gave the stallion a few more pets on the head and neck before ever so gently and carefully climbing onto the back of Snowfire. It felt different and weird being on another horse's back, a horse unfamiliar to her and one that she never rode. But in addition to that, there was no support or saddle on the back.

If it really is him, then yes. The young dragoness would be his dragon. Then an idea entered Koora's mind. Would you like me to go back and confirm it, Alea??

  • (D: XD you're a natural night owl, girl ^_^ do me a small favor though...try not to stay away for so long and then coming back at 11pm XD you make me worry sometimes ^_^)

Snowfire's ears flattened at the new weight on his back. "Easy, there, Snow," said Damian calmly. "It's just an exercise." The stallion snorted and shook his head before chewing absolutely nothing for a few moments. "Okay. Go ahead and ride like you normally would, Dawn. Remember: Trust the animal beneath you to keep you safe."

Alea gave a small nod and gently picked the bird up with a few fingers before holding her up to the sky. "Go," she said softly. "My son will have the same black hair as me and a face of that of a mortal. Find him and bring back news."

  • (Ahaa sorry xDD I'll try my best. I guess my muse is higher when its night, bc thats when I can think and function best?? Idk, I'm just weird. Anyhow I think I'll be staying on for a while tonight. :3 )

Like I normally would...?? She didn't think it would be that easy. "Understood," she replied to her teacher. Dawn inhaled a deep silent breath, trying to calm herself down before starting anything. "Then here we go, Snowfire," she whispered. Just like whenever she rode Silver, Dawn started up the horse and beckoned for him to go forward. Though this time more gently since it wasn't her horse she was riding. Plus she figured the best way to go about it was to earn the stallion's trust, as trust was an important aspect between beast and rider.

Yes, Alea. And with that Koora spread open her long white, beautiful wings and lifted herself up into the air. Higher and higher she went, and when she was above the tree tops she went straight ahead back in the direction of the Sanctuary.

  • (^_^ okay! :D so i will apologize in advance if I fall asleep on you XD)

Snowfire snorted and pawed the ground before he began to move forward. His ears flickered each and every way, as though listening to her. How that was possible, nobody except his rider knew.

Alea watched her friend fly away and gave a sigh, turning her attention back to the little baby bunny in her arms.

Alex sat in his room, having been dismissed for the day. He sat there, staring out into the world of wonder that he and Dawn were now apart of. "Mother," he whispered. "I wish you were here with me."

  • (Awwww~ xDD Lol jk. Alright. Same goes for me too, you know, just in case. ;D )

Her breath caught in her throat as Snowfire started forward. Stay calm, calm... She told herself as they continued on. "Good, good," she whispered quietly to the white horse while stroking him gently on the neck. So far, so good. Dawn decided they'd continue at this speed for a bit before picking it up.

Koora flew smoothly through the air. She was very high above ground and she could almost see everything including the faint outline of the top part of the Sanctuary. Koora continued to fly as fast as the wind would take her while keeping an eye out for the black-haired boy. It would be a few minutes till she would arrive to the Sanctuary.

  • (alright ^_^)
Snowfire went around the area a few times, shaking his head on occasion and flicking his ears behind him. He seemed to be asking: Why are we still going so slow?

Alex couldn't help but notice something flying high in the sky. So high, that it appeared to blend in with the clouds above. "What in the world?" He questioned, standing up and walking out onto the platform, staring straight up into the sky for what he he'd seen.

  • (xD)

Dawn sighed and petted him once more. "I know, I know," she muttered quietly under her breath. "I'm just a little uneasy." But he's right, she then thought. She knew she had to pick up the pace at some point. "Then... let's go a little faster."

Koora slowly began to descend the closer she got to the Sanctuary. Once she was close enough she opened her beak and released a soft but strong sound, almost like a hum or song. She could get a better sense of her surroundings as the sound waves continued on, some bouncing back against objects or walls and echoing back towards her. Son of Alea... Koora spiralled around a few towers and flew around the large Sanctuary once before she finally caught sight of Alex. There you are. Indeed she could see the resemblance in him, plus he gave off a different feeling. Koora slowed down and eventually landed onto the platform of Alex's room. She folded in her wings neatly before staring up at the boy with a studying look.
