"Yea," Alex said with a small nod. "He was the only parent that I knew growing up. Taught me everything I know about the farm and animals and how to take care of them."

Dawn nodded her head slowly. "That's why you're even better with animals," she pointed out softly. "Your father is a good man." With a sigh she slowly stood up to her feet and looked down at Alex. "Come on. You can't stay here forever, not while waiting for your father's response."
Ocarin, finished with eating, gave his muzzle a lick and then shook out his fur. 'Thank you, Alex,' he then said, looking up to the half-elf.
-
"You're welcome, Ocarin," Alex answered with a smile. And then he gave a soft laugh and turned toward Dawn. "Yeah, I suppose you're right about that. But remember, I got my love of animals from my mother."
-
Dawn shrugged but returned his smile. "I suppose you're right. You would know better, after all. Now let's go - you promised you'd show us what you can do now with your abilities."
-
"Alright," Alex said, finishing his juice swiftly before leading them outside to the field that he and Faelynn had practiced in. With a deep breath, Alex began to concentrate his powers into the center of his hands. Twin balls of magic began to appear there, in their centers.
-
Both Dawn and Ocarin had followed close behind Alex as they stepped outside. They had stopped just a little away from Alex, putting a small distance in between them as they watched him form the two magic balls. Ocarin's ears twitched slightly as he peered over at the magic curiously, while Dawn watched with fascination. "Wow... what a sight," she breathed.
-
Alex gave a soft exhale and thrust his hands rather fast away from his body. The balls of magic combined into a huge one and exploded forward, sending the grass parting.
-
Both of their heads turned as they followed the magic ball. Dawn's eyes widened when it exploded, while Ocarin's ears twitched once more with interest. "You really improved a lot," Dawn commented with a smile as she looked back to Alex. "You don't seem tired or drained out any more after using your magic."
-
"Almost," Alex said with a soft sigh, pushing his hair out of his face. "It still weakens me physically, even if it's not visible anymore."
-
"Ah, I see." Dawn then searched her friend's face. "You should stop here for now then."
'You've improved greatly, Alex,' Ocarin then spoke up, lifting his head and body as he began to slowly pace around. 'You've worked hard and now you're growing stronger. Not everyone can do this.' When he spoke those words the wolf turned to look directly at Alex's face, gazing at him thoughtfully. It seemed as though he were referring back to their conversation that morning. Then Ocarin gave a slight nod.
-
Alex gave a small dip of his head in acknowledgement to the both of them. "So, Dawn, have you been able to explore all of Elnesera yet?"
-
Dawn paused to think about it. "Most of it," she replied with a small smile. "There are a few places here and there that I never had the chance to go to, mostly the southern part of Elnesera. The whole city is beautiful... and so alive. It always seems busy."
Ocarin snorted at that, as he was a wolf who had spent most of his time in quiet and peace while growing up rather than in busy areas.
-
Alex gave a small dip of his head and ruffled Ocarin's fur for a moment. "We weren't raised in a busy area either, Ocarin," he informed the wolf with a teasing grin on his face. "Remember when we told you about our village? It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but close enough to the city to trade and sell stuff."
-
Ocarin nodded slowly at that, remembering when Alex had described their old village. "That is fair enough," he rumbled with a light flick of his tail. 'You both must miss the peace and quiet of your village then.'
Dawn looked to Alex and smiled. "Sometimes."
-
"The calm of the Sanctuary and this Tower remind me of home," Alex answered with a small nod. "And there are some things that're best left at the village."
-
At that Dawn nodded her head with agreement and crossed her arms across her chest. "And there are things that are better left alone and not discussed about," she said, adding to Alex's last sentence.
Ocarin flicked an ear thoughtfully. 'I see. Well, as long as your minds aren't lingering back at that village of yours.'
-
"Not at all," Alex said with a teasing indignation riding his voice.
-
Ocarin rumbled with amusement, the same slight teasing tone to his voice. 'As you say, Alex. I won't argue.' He then spun and paced a little bit more, only to stop and stare out cross the field. 'So anyway, Alex, do you know what you intend to do with this power of yours?'
-
"Nope," Alex said with a laugh.
-
Dawn blinked her eyes but couldn't help but smile at Alex's contagious laugh. "Really, you don't?" She then asked, glancing briefly from the wolf to her friend. "Well we're all doomed," she light teased, and Ocarin rumbled with amusement. 'That's true.'
