What's been goin' on recently with the people of WindClan? Steam found herself asking that question quite often. Sure, she's been to countless meet and greets thus far, but she really wanted to get to know people. And she hoped that's what she was to do today.

That or he was just too nervous and shy to speak. Rhys was scared how others would think of him at first and if they see him being weak and pathetic, well...

The one-eyed and three-legged kit was wandering through the camp. He was bored as he had nothing to do to keep himself entertained. Rhys did wanted to talk, but who was there to talk? He spotted a female who he thought was a bit familiar and stood on his paws. Should he go talk to her? He thought of how she was busy for a moment and shrunk his body away from her. Maybe he shouldn't. What if he was in her way and she would get upset about it?

Too much of a negativity was zooming by his mind around as Rhys stared awkwardly at Steam. Yup, he had no idea what else to do but to just look at her and allowed the bad thought kicking in his head.

The tabby's side seemed to be far off from Rhys's. For starters, she wasn't necessarily self-conscious when it came to meeting others – she just kinda met them. If others judged her poorly, she wasn't aware of it. Then again, she wasn't really aware of much.

However, there was one thing she was aware of. And that was the feel of eyes on her. Turning around to justify her thoughts, she saw her three-legged peer and she smiled broadly. There, someone to talk to and get to know. Steam happily trotted up to them in greeting. "Heya! What's your name?"

He tried not to shrink himself away from her, knowing it would be disrespectful for him to do that. So to avoid that problem, Rhys kept his now unsheathed claws against the surface and attempted them to dug into the surface. It wouldn't be possible, seeing that the ground was too hard. "H-hiya," Rhys awkwardly greeted back in return. "I-I'm Rhys... U-uhhh, what a-about you?" He then replied to her inquired before asking her the same thing. Well, clearly he doesn't know her name as she doesn't know his own. As he waited for her to respond, his ears were flattened and nervously observed the female carefully. She seemed cheerful. Kinda loud. But that was okay, he guessed. He just didn't like loud noises, that's all.

"Great to meet'cha, Rhys! The name's Steampaw! Call me Steam or Steamy if ya'd like!" the tabby cheered in her normal way. Dang, this guy didn't talk much, huh? Ah well, many people were like that. Heck, her own best friend was like that. Finding it in her best interest not to judge him only because of that, she flicked her green optics over to his face, eyes filled to the brim with curiosity. Steampaw found it quite interesting, not grotesque, that he was missing an eye. It wasn't the best thing to have in life, but she didn't seem to realize this. "So..." the tabby began, following her instinct. "What happened to your eye? It's cool."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 500px; font-family: verdena; color: #2E9AFE; font-size: 9pt; text-shadow: 3px 3px 3px black]Steampaw... He would never seem to understand how it would make sense having two words in a name. Like he used to be called Pandorakit, and that didn't made sense at all. There were others like Wingspan, and actually, it does kinda made sense, but still. What was a point of having three stages of having a name like Steampaw? It was just weird. Although if he thought of it carefully, it was pretty unique. "O-okay..." He shrunk back from her noisy cheer and gently bit the inside of his cheeks. Listening to her inquire, his pale brown eye widened in major surprise. "W-whaa?"

Dumbfounded, Rhys stared at her like if she was mental right in the head of her. Never had anyone compliment about his missing eye. Like out of all the things about him to be compliment about, it was his missing eye. Especially this was the first time he has ever been complimented to. He would be really flattered, yet complimenting over a missing eye made him feel quite disturbed. "I-I... I d-don't know?" finally inquired the awkward kit in a wary tone and does it slowly. The reason why he was unsure of his answer because Rhys first believed he was born that way without even knowing until he somehow arrived by the WindClan's border. Yet either that or it could be a tragic event he had went through, but doesn't hold the memory of it.

Whatever it was, the child didn't want to know.

    Ever.
