bridalpaw was sitting underneath the shade of a tree, her head resting on her forepaws as she slept. her breathing was steady and smooth, it seemed that nothing had been troubling her at the moment.
that is, until her dreams grew chaotic, and soon became a darkness that enveloped her like a massive ocean wave. that was when the turkish van began to twitch briefly, her feather-like tail swishing against the ground, pushing aside some leaves that fell from the tree.
...
in her dream, bridalpaw was running. the typical nightmare one would see now and then. but this one was different. and the fact that bry never really had any nightmares was not too reassuring. her sleeps were usually peaceful unless someone interrupted it via reality.
what she'd been running from? she didn't know. in fact, the loud though distant footsteps from behind her could've been from anything. anyone, even. perhaps it mightve been a fear of the noblelands. then again, bridalpaw had little to no fear of them anymore. after seeing whirlwindpaw capture not one but two of their enemies, it made her feel reassured. it reassured her that her enemies were weaklings, that is.
the dream was repetitive, really. bridalpaw.. just running. then it took a sharp turn - in fact, it all changed before her very eyes. now, the turkish van was in the middle of a field, voices devouring her like the darkness that was her dream. voices like, "why care about those who doubt you" and the like.
she'd never fallen down a hole this mentally deep. and before she could evaluate these strange voices, the apprentice had soon awoken, jerking awake from what was her first real nightmare. all of a sudden, she'd been doubting those who were close to her. she felt like she was more distant from anyone than she'd ever been. bridalpaw felt almost lonely.. like nobody had been there.
of course, there was always ava.. but she had honeypaw. they were so close, the guardian could've sworn there was something.. else, between their relationship. she didn't want to get in the middle of a really great friendship.
whirlwindpaw? she was probably considering moving to another clan, bridalpaw assumed. the tortoiseshell used to be so lively and fun, but now whirlwind seemed so depressed all the time. and it was her fault, for unintentionally neglecting her. sure, it was an accident and all, and it was not her intention to ignore her adoptive sister.. but it still felt like a weight on her shoulders.
bridalpaw couldn't recall anybody else who she could consider a friend. she felt a lump in her throat, and before she knew it, her head was buried in her forepaws, silently sulking underneath the oak tree, as the leaves of said tree fell to the ground slowly.. somewhat like herself. mentally, that is. falling mentally, down a deep deep hole that she'd consider neverending by now.
she really didn't know what to say after that. she felt depressed, lonely, and just a bit violent. and she definitely didn't want to talk about it to anyone.
