in her early apprentice years, nia decides to forgive her parents for conceiving her to strengthen an alliance, and decides to move to windclan to spend some more time with her mother, although their relationship is still a bit rocky due to nia's hot-headedness, which causes them to clash heads a bit. after a disagreement with her mother, she moves back to wyvernclan to be with her father and goes back to ignoring lily.

in her mid-apprentice years, nia ends up pregnant with children from one of her "hunger pang" accidents with a tom from another clan. she tells him that she is pregnant, and he agrees to help her raise the children, but tells her that they cannot be together. they have a platonic relationship and lovingly care for these children, but soon develop feelings for each other and decide to become mates. however, this relationship does not last long, as her being a succubus often harms him, especially she feeds on him. due to this, she finds multiple sexual partners with no strings attached to feed on, which sturs up feelings of jealousy from the male. they end their relationship and go back to being friends for the sake of their children together.

nia is a pretty poor parent due to her young age after having the children, and often spends her time partying, drinking, and feeding on others rather than working on being a positive role model in her children's life. because of this, she loses the trust of a lot of her children, and once they are a bit older, they leave her to go and live with their father, which makes her a bit upset at times.
