    Airpaw followed his mentor, scenting the breeze for prey. Especially rabbits, now being able to take one down, he did so at every oportunity.

    Searingflame looked around for a moment, then made up his mind."You go that way." he intructed the apprentice, tail pointed into a somewhat random direction."And I'll go this way." This time it was another direction, opposite of the way he had told Airpaw to go.

    Airpaw nodded. "Allright, meet you back here in twenty minutes?" he asked, itching to get a move on and hunt. Especially happy that he could go hunting without being under the eye of his mentor and be able to impress him when he came back and they met up. He didn't wait for a reply very long, "Is that okay? Okay." then he turned and trotted off, his tail high with joy. He scented the air... then got the familiar tang of a rabbit.

    "Sure." Searingflame murmured, though it wasn't really necessary, as Airpaw had already gone off on his own. With a shrug, the tom headed in the other direction, senses aware for any sign of prey.

    Airpaw grinned, he dropped into a crouch and crept forward, spotting the rabbit, he bunched his muscles, and leapt, landing on it squarely, and rolling over and over with it. Killing it when he finally came to a dusty stop. Getting to his paws, he buried his catch and shook out his fur. then returned to his hunt, creeping up on a mouse, he bunched his muscles, wiggled his haunches and leapt at it. Oops- he forgot to stay downwing of it. Pouting as he watched the house skitter away, he went for other prey.

    Searingflame finally found himself close by to an unsuspecting prey - a mouse. Light pawstep in front of the other, he crept closer and closer to it, careful not to draw attention to himself and have it run off. He almost found himself cracking a tree branch in half on the way, but luckily was able to get over it. Then suddenly, without warning he pounced, the mouse's tail caught under his paws, killed by a quick bite to the neck. Alright, time to meet back up with Airpaw.

    Airpaw picked up his prey and headed off towards where they were to meet. On the way he caught a mouse, and missed three others. Setting down his catch as he arrivec, he groomed himself.

    Searingflame came by not long after, carrying his mouse."Well done." he congratulated the apprentice when he saw his own catch.

    Airpaw smiled with pride, beaming as his mentor congradulated him on his hunting. "Thankyou Searingflame. Is that it for the day?"

    Picking up his catch, he followed his mentor obeidiantly.

    Searingflame led the way back to camp, head held high with the prey hanging from his jaws. Entering, the tom threw the creature in uncaringly, then backed away to let Airpaw do it to his own.

    Airpaw set his prey down with more care then his mentor. He smiled at Searingflame, his warrior ceremony would not be long, "See you later Searingflame." he said, and left.

    ooc: So sorry for the late reply, I've been a bit busy lately.


    Searingflame nodded, going off in the other direction."See you tomorrow." But another thought struck him as well. Maybe a free day? They had been going off training for a while now, and it seemed like a good idea. Oh well, it all depended on how he felt the next day, he supposed.

    Airpaw considered a nice nap, a nice long nap. He padded into the apprentice den, and curled back up in his nest.

    It took Searingflame only a few moments yet again to fall asleep, always being the deep sleeper. He snored gently, paws splayed out in random directions until he awoke in the morning.

    Airpaw woke, blinking his eyes open, squinting against the sunlight that slanted through the leaves of the Apprentice sleeping place. A wave of excitment filled Airpaw, tomorrow was his apprentice ceremony!



    Ooc: I can feel that there is a loss of interest in this thread... XD, so I've decided his ceremony will be the next day.

    ooc: Okay!


    Searingflame crawled out of the gap in the warriors' den entrance, for once feeling completely awake for the day. The excitement was not one sided, he knew perfectly well what it was the next day. His first apprentice would be a warrior. Well, he couldn't imagine not being excited really!


    "Airpaw?" the tom murmured, glancing around the camp.

    Airpaw was having trouble sleeping, the excitment filling his mind and body. He stared at the entrance for several long hours, waiting for dawn so he could get up. An Explosion of light sent dim rays of light slanting through the entrance. Leaping from his nest, Airpaw shook life into his paws and trotted out of the Apprentice and elders "den". He looked for his mentor, and spotted Searingflame. Airpaw trotted forward eagerly, a wide smile on his muzzle.

    "Airpaw! Are you ready?" Searingflame asked curiously, a teasing tone to it. He could imagine how happy Airpaw was - or at least, he hoped he was. Why wouldn't any apprentice look forward to their warrior ceremony, after all?
