Airpaw yawned and streched each backleg in turn. then spiking his fur, he did a quick grooming, and made his way to the freshkill pile to have a good meal. He chose a plump rabbit and lay down in their usual spot withit, he waved his tail in a greeting at his mentor.

Searingflame nodded back to him, padding over to join his apprentice. He took out a nice rabbit, before turning to the apprentice questionably."What would you like to do today, Airpaw?" There wasn't much left to teach him, he didn't see the harm in letting the apprentice make his own decisions.
-
Airpaw smiled, happy with the thought that soon his assesment would be coming. He looked at his mentor, "Can we do fighting?" he asked, as he finished up his meal.
-
"Sure, sounds good." Searingflame agreed, finishing off his prey quickly. They'd do some good sparring, that was something worth looking forward to.
-
Airpaw smiled. Over the time Searingflame had been his mentor, Airpaw had learned well. He learned more quickly than before, he was still skinny, but he had lean muscle and could take down a rabbit without the rabbit fighting back. He smiled at his mentor, pride filling his chest. "Great!"
-
Searingflame nodded, standing up onto his paws."Well, why don't we get going, huh?" They were wasting good training time, just waiting there for who knows what.
-
"Right." Airpaw said, getting to his paws and making for the camp entrance.
-
Searingflame padded after him, letting the apprentice take the way to the forest. It wasn't too nice a day, the sun shone brightly, sure, but he could see dark gray clouds forming in the distance. It wouldn't be long until a storm began. Oh well, he was sure they could get some training in before then.
-
Airpaw padded detirmindly on until he reached their destination. He streched his legs, popped his neck, arched his back, and then got ready for today's lesson. "You ready Searingflame? Or are you feeling just a bit tired...?" he teased gently, Airpaw had grown more comfortable around his mentor, and now that his nuscles were more toned, he could keep up with his mentor for the most part.
-
Searingflame shook his head."Tch, of course not! I'm not an elder yet!" he purred. The tom took his stance, leaning down slightly and facing his smaller opponent."But are you ready?"
-
Airpaw took up his defensive position, "Whenever you are Yoda." he said, and cracked a smile, before focusing once more.
-
Searingflame didn't even want a know what a yoda was. Taking a leapt forward, the tom faked an attack to Airpaw's chest quickly before twisting to the back of him, trying to twist his paw around the apprentice's leg and send him tumbling down.
-
Airpaw fell for the convincing attack, but as he saw it was a fake, he allowed himself to take his tumble into a gracefull roll and pop back up to his feet in a fluid movement. He jumped, trying to land lightly on his mentors back and cling there.
-
Searingflame didn't let his pride of Airpaw distract him. The apprentice was able to land on his back however, and the warrior quickly flailed out, trying to unlatch him.
-
Airpaw clung to Searingflame like his life depended on it, There is NO way I'm letting go... he thought grimly, as his head jounced painfully up and down with his mentors flailing. He did his best to ignore the pain, Hawks enver release their prey. So I wont release Searingflame. he thought defiantly.
-
Searingflame twisted to the side, suddenly turning so he was on top of the apprentice. He tried to hold Airpaw down from that position.
-
Airpaw relaxed his muscles, letting Searingflame carry him in a roll. He had known this moment was coming so he let his mentors momentum carry them both over again making Airpaw land on top, from which he jumped off his mentor and took an offensive position.
-
Searingflame got back to his paws, though kept out of his battle position for more fighting. It seemed they were done for the day."Good job Airpaw, you're really getting the hang of it. Ready to do some hunting?"
-
Airpaw straightend, and smiled. "Allright, lets go!" he said, smiling.
-
Searingflame nodded agreement, flicking his tail for Airpaw to follow him as he went off in search of prey.
